Stefani Maura, one of the demon Maura nobles' descendants who holds the third highest position after the Bagaskara and Damon nobles. The three most powerful demon noble families in the entire land of Alfansa. Stefani's life was never lacking in anything. Born immortal, she possesses extraordinary abilities and a charming appearance. But, behind all of her good fortune, there was one thing that made Stefani envious of ordinary people. Womb. Yes, all female demon lords were barred from having children, which was why she couldn't choose who she could love. Sh e had to give up her man with the residents of Alfansa, even though she had been with Katon for decades, because Bagaskara needed descendants to survive.
Aldo told Karin everything about Stefani, mainly because he wanted Karin to know everything about Katon before they married.
"And now Stefani wants to meet you," Aldo concluded the story.
"Why?" Karin inquired, puzzled. There was no reason for Stefani to meet with Karin. Stefani should have stayed away and refused to have anything to do with her, especially after learning that Karin was Katon's future bride.
"We've been able to read the minds of ordinary citizens like you, but not Stefani," Aldo shrugged.
"I don't want to meet her," Karin said, standing up as the bell rang.
Because he didn't fully trust Erna or Tanya, Aldo purposefully asked Karin to speak with him alone. Aldo, as a mind reader, does not have to struggle for long to read characters.
"Rin..." Aldo restrained Karin by pulling on her hand. Karin responded with a frown. "You may not want to meet Stef, but she doesn't give up easily," Aldo continued.
"What do you mean?"
"If you tell me who to side with, I will absolutely choose you," Aldo said as he let go of Karin's hand with a determined smile. But Karin had no intention of returning the smile, instead snorting angrily and returning to her class.
Everything that happened to Karin at Sofia School irritated her, with the exception of meeting Erna. Karin was grateful to have Erna with her, and there was no one else she could rely on. Even Katon Bagaskara, about whom she was particularly curious, vanished for a while. Then there was Aldo, who was like Katon's personal assistant, always giving Karin information about Katon's life without her asking. Stefani is one of the pieces of information that has Karin concerned. She had a feeling the girl would appear in her surroundings at any time.
"I don't think we need to be close to Aldo," Erna said quietly, checking to make sure no one was listening in.
Karin agreed with a nod. They were on their way back to the hostel together.
"What makes you believe Stefani wants to see me?"
"It's obvious, Rin," Erna responded, "She wants you to be intimidated."
"But she and Katon aren't getting along, and it's not my fault," Karin says.
"Not really, but..." Erna purposefully cut her off. She smiled as she looked at the phone.
"Why?" Karin wondered.
"Rin, I almost forgot to tell you, but I have a date tonight!" Erna smiled happily.
"I hope you guys can be serious!" Karin exclaims happily and hugs Erna.
"Do you want to help me get ready, Rin?"
Karin nodded happily, and the two of them hurried to the dormitory because they only had two hours to get ready.
* * *
She never slept peacefully every night after being dumped on the first day of her arrival. All Erna could think about was how she could find a replacement who truly loved her so she wouldn't die in vain. Then, on this night of waiting, she would go on a date with one of her classmate's demon nobles.
"You're really lovely tonight, Er," Tyo said to Erna, who sat next to her. Tyo arrived at the dorm to pick up Erna.
"Thank you," Erna said, blushing slightly.
"Your friend, by the way, was Katon's future bride?" After seeing Karin, Tyo inquired as to who had brought Erna.
"Why?" Erna asked, nodding.
"She is well-known among us. But you are still the one who draws my attention."
"Perhaps because I've been dumped?" Erna made a sarcastic remark.
Tyo chuckled "Maybe that's what piques my interest. Who the hell dumped a girl like you?"
They both laughed out loud together on the way to the restaurant Tyo had requested for dinner. Maybe Erna's body seemed to float with joy tonight, if it could be described in a sentence.
"Er, you know why I brought you here, don't you?"
"Dinner?"
"Yes," Tyo replied, laughing, "and, of course, looking for a bride-to-be."
Erna simply smiled as she sliced her steak.
"I'm looking for a bride who can provide me with as much children as possible. Because there are many women born in our family, which is very difficult,"
"...as much as possible?" Erna repeated with skepticism.
"Yes. We can even start having children right away if you want," Tyo was thrilled. "We can get married right away if you're definitely pregnant. What do you think?"
"But I don't think that's how you guys work, Tyo..."
"What do you mean? Do you want to be treated like Karin? You two have always been different."
"What do you mean?" Erna, who was getting irritated, slammed her knife and fork.
"You don't have to make too many decisions! Nobody wants to be with you except me, and my terms are simple, right?"
"Do you think I'm just a breeding animal?" Erna, who was already upset, didn't mind that other people could hear their loud argument.
Tyo was about to open his mouth to argue again when Erna sprayed him with water. Everyone, especially Tyo, was taken aback. He wiped his drenched face as he widened his eyes in disbelief.
"Fuck!" Erna cursed angrily and stormed out of the restaurant, her rage still raging in her chest.
The car horn blared, and Erna noticed a blinding light in front of her. A split second later, the car came to a halt directly in front of Erna. Someone cursed as they got out of the car.
"Looking for death?" he exclaimed angrily.
Erna remained motionless and unresponsive. Tyo's voice called out for Erna from the direction of the restaurant. He dashed over to Erna and grabbed her hand.
"What are you doing? Come on!"
"No!" Erna pushed Tyo's hand away.
"Tyo? What's the problem?" asked the man who had just cursed Erna.
"It's nothing. Just a little business with her," Tyo was still trying to persuade Erna to leave, but Erna became even more defiant.
"But why did you force Erna? She called and asked to be picked up" He said this and immediately ordered Tyo to stop pressuring Erna.
Tyo asked hesitantly, "You know her?"
The man gave a firm nod "Yes. Why?"
Tyo's face froze when he realized the man knew Erna. He walked away without saying much. Meanwhile, Erna, who still didn't understand, could only ponder everything that had happened so quickly.
"No thanks?" he asked.
"How do you know me?" Erna pondered.
"You forgot who we are?" he asked again, laughing.
After her senses had returned to normal, Erna exclaimed softly. Tyo's rage made her forget she was in the world of the demon lord, not Alfansa.
"OK, thanks Hendery," the man said to himself as he walked to his car.
"Wait!" Erna pulled on the man's shirt. "Thanks,"
Hendery, the man, simply nodded and got into his car. "Can you go home by yourself?"
Hendery aroused Erna's frustration once more, "What?"
Hendery didn't respond because he had stepped on the gas and driven away, waving to Erna. Erna opened her cellphone and requested Karin to pick her up after she had finished cursing Tyo and Hendery.
