Chapter 8 - Undercover Cop PRT1

Next Day: Saturday.

Like every other Saturday, Erica would wake up and take care of her body and do some exercise and go for some long run in the area. But this Saturday... was different.

Erica Daniels was up and doing. She had left the house very early in a red four runner Jeep. Heading for the unknown as she drove down the busy roads of new orleans.

..

Jackson Street:

A red four runner vehicle pulled into one of the streets of the empire estate. She slowly drove down the lonely road of the tranquil area that held great side attraction.

"... This is has got to be Jeffy's house, I guess. Been months since I came here. Hope he isn't mad.", Erica thought packing beside a bungalow. She stepped out of the vehicle and walked into the compound.

It looked deserted for minute, then. She heard some noise coming from inside. Around was decorated green grass land with a black Bugatti Chiron resting on it. The walls were decorated with lamps that illuminated bright lights despite the morning rays.

She entered the yellow colored house and strolled into the living room. The walls were having family portrait, the ground was occupied by dark blue sofas that were arranged in a square manner.

A dinning wasn't to far with an entrance close to, with another entrance leading to two different rooms or so she thought.

The red soft carpet swallowed her footsteps as she advanced further. Then, from the blues. A man came from one of the room with some files in his hand. Dressed in a black rebel outfit.

She wowed on seeing him. He was an American skinned young man with a black haux faux hair style. Normal irises that were cute to look at and two little dimples on the side of his cheek.

He had the muscular type of body, obviously this man must have always worked his free time in a gym.

Erica cleared throat , catching his attention. He was about to pull his pistol but he stopped. Realizing it was Erica.

"You..."

"Hey... sorry if am disturbing."

"Well...", he dashed pass her with no interest. "... You are."

Cold... she muttered as he headed for his ride.

"We need to talk. " , she followed him.

"There's absolutely nothing to talk about. " , he uttered with a bit of anger. Opening his car's driver seat.

Erica quickly intercepted his path. "Look... am sorry, I know messed up but can't we just move one and be best friends or something?"

"Best---"

"Okay okay okay... ", she hurriedly spoke. "Let just forget about what happened. Please. "

He said nothing in return. His eyes showed a portion of his anger.

"It about my mom..."

"Are you kidding me? she's dead!. This case ended months ago."

"I know... it ended months ago but there's something else you don't know. "

He faced her strictly as he jammed the door of his car. "What is it?"

"She's back... but not as my mother. "

He laughed. "Are you crazy Erica? "

"The dead don't come back to life."

"I am not even saying that. ", she said. "I Am saying she's my stepsister. "

Then, Jeffy raised a brow. Checking her temperature but Erica slapped away his hands.

"I am way okay Jef!, no need to check me up."

"I just wanted to be sure... because there's no damn way you are okay? Helene aren't your mom... she looks nothing like her."

"That because only I see her that way."

"Only you?"

"Yes."

"...you normal?"

"I know...it sounds...weird."

"You need to see a psychiatrist. ASAP! hop in.", he quickly opened up the back sear for Erica but she booted it close in a fit of rage. "Don't you dare..." , pointing her fingers at Jeffy. "... Try to mock me."

"Who? me? ha! am not mocking you. Just spitting simple facts. You. need. to. see. a. psychiatrist. "

"Go to hell Jeffrey... you are literally my last hope because you understand me better than no one."

"How sweet... what of your baby girl Harmonica? "

Erica raided her brow. "Please let's not bring her up..."

"Er... why?"

"Because this is way serious."

Jeffrey hummed a bit, then... he heaved a sigh and looked at Erica as she patiently waited for him to give a response, tapping her right feet on the ground non stop. He hands folded underneath her boobs.

"Fine... I will reopen the case."

"I don't need it to be reopen."

"Then what? "

"We investigate it on our own. "

"Ptfft.", Jeffrey chuckled on her response.

Then Erica said. "What?"

"Our work is really different from each other. Am a police man---"

"Correction... Retired Police Man."

Jeffry fumed and nodded. "Right, retired ...and you are a financial director--"

"Also I need your help on something else. "

"What Is again this time? "

"Well...", Erica brought out her tab out of her pink cross bag and handed it over to him. "I am being framed for something I didn't do while I was soaking in my mother's grave."

Jeffrey collected the tab going through everything related to petty transactions made to the large amount that was deposited in her account and is no where to be found now.

"I know I didn't do this ... but I have only 48hours to prove myself innocent or else I will go to jail for a crime I didn't commit. "

"1.2million dollars...", he uttered. "Mad stuff you got there. "

"I know am asking for to much but you are the only one who can help me out of this."

He returned her pad and rested on the car. "... am not superman... not even batman soooooo..."

"Just help me out, I don't want to loose this job."

"Nothing is stopping me, but do you have any suspect that you think I can interrogate? "

"There's only one person I suspect.", exuding a deep breath. "And that person is my dad. "
