It was a terrible choice to make.
On one hand, she was responsible for the well-being of the entire clan. And on the other hand, she was a mother. It was either hand over her daughter in exchange for peace. Or, hold on to Angelia, and incur the wrath of the werewolf clan. The turmoil inside her was growing, and the council was not helping matters at all.
After Angelia left, Anna stood up and addressed the council in a bland voice that was completely devoid of any kind of emotion;
"We can not give in to the werewolf clan's demand. We simply can not. Exchanging Angelia for peace would be condemning our entire clan, and the generations unborn to die by the hands of the werewolves!"
"With all due respect mother,"Bella, Angelia's sister was the one speaking again; "Are you really asking us to suffer the wrath of the werewolves when we could offer up one life for peace?"
"She's your sister!" Anna thundered.
