Without hesitation, he dashed towards Mina, jostling his way through the throngs of people without stopping for anyone. He knew that time was of the essence and that every second counted.
Mina was never one for the office, and she much preferred to be outside, where she could put her leadership skills to good use. As he scanned the area for her, he wasn't surprised to see her barking orders at a group of new recruits, her voice carrying easily across the field.
Suddenly, across the field, Alex made eye contact with Mina, and she instantly knew that something was amiss. The look on his face was one of concern and urgency, and she immediately excused herself from the neophytes she was training, instructing Stephen to take over in her absence.
Without saying a word, she gestured for Alex to follow her as she strode purposefully towards the administration building. Once inside, she closed the door behind them and turned to face him, her expression grave.
