One major glitch in his plan was coincidentally his biggest asset. Golden Crow, in many ways, was a double edged sword. Sure, its awesome fire was a fine trait. But regulating the temperature of the flame within a controlled environment was something of an arduous task.
Alex was equipped with a great many skills, but the ability control Golden Crow's devouring flames was not something he had. Alex remembered the vague feeling of being fucked when Apollo had so freely handed over Golden Crow. That damn sun god. Of course he knew that Alex would have to seek out his help to manage the flames properly. No wonder he had so willingly honored their wager.
Seeing that this matter took precedence above all other issues at hand, Alex decided to seek help elsewhere. At this point, there was only one person he could trust with knowledge like this. It was the person he had faced death with- his partner, Zooey. He doubled down on his plans, and immediately went to seek her out.
