It was a button, meaning the door needed a code for it to open. she became more curious about the things in the locked room. she thought for a while attempting a different password but it won't be ready to . "Why don't you try turtle neck?" Her subconscious whispered and scoffed at giving up. "Let me just prove you wrong" she said and punched in a turtleneck and to her surprise, it opened.
"Yess!" she rejoiced and entered. She stopped on her track when she saw different instruments. It's like a gym... No. its medical instruments. she said to herself she switched on the light and tried reading something on them. They are not that meaningful but due to the hard english words she knows it has to do with medical stuff. She brought out her phone and started to browse the words. she gasped aloud.
"My God this isn't happening, Andrew has a hole in his heart. She went through the room and in shock, she wanted to leave when something caught her gaze. she moved closer and saw it was his diary, she opened it and read some things.
"It's bad to read people's dairy without their permission miss" her subconscious yelled out at hers continuously. She closed it and went back again. She went back and opened to the last page which was that day's diary. "she read it out loud.
" One month to go and I will leave this hell called world. I will miss everyone, especially Charlotte. I just have to stay strong and spend this last month like never before. I will also miss my world, my career and you of all the things in this world, I only hate one thing and that's the woman I called my mom. I hate this world but I like some people. Complicated right? Maybe I can find peace and the love my parents never gave when I see God. I will forever be grateful to turtle neck (lol) for showing me the meaning of though happiness, she is... "
Charlotte couldn't complete the reading because her eyes got blurry, she saw water in the diary.... no it was her tears she quickly closed the diary and ran out of the room in tears. She sat on the chairs and couldn't help the tears because no matter how much effort she tried in wiping it, it kept on dropping.
Why is everything about her so complicated? The guy who has been good to her through good and tough times is about leaving her.
"God, Andrew did nothing to deserve death, he deserves to be loved, to be happy and alive and healthy, why are you being so cruel to him? First you gave him an uncaring parent and now a hole in his heart…He has done nothing to deserve a quarter of this. what sin has he ever committed. God please just forgive him and spare his life '' Charlotte said aloud with her hands clasped together in praying manner.
She has always heard her mom say any challenge she is passing through is a small thing before God. All she needs to do is go to him and tell him her wish and he will surely grant it, Charlotte sat on the floor and wept profusely. she doubts if she can bear it losing Andrew.
Andrew came in afterwards and Charlotte quickly wiped her tears forcing a smile.
"You're back Andy" she looked away while talking to him. Andrews walked up to her and pulled her cheeks softly and they are now staring at each other.
"I never wanted you to feel this way, that was the main reason I never told you, I'm sorry?" Andrew said and looked away.
"But should have at least said it out, hiding it from me to find out alone makes me more sad, I can't believe you will be gone even before christmas' 'Charlotte sobbed the most.
"No…You have really tried for me Charlotte, heck! You showed me how to love, the joy, from a grumpy and sadist back to the guy I used to be before I knew about my sickness. What more can I ask for?" Andrew replied and Charlotte looked up, staring at him.
"I never complained to Andy or did I? You should have at least spoken up, ``Charlotte said frustratedly .
"I know and I'm sorry, I just don't want to disturb you with my burden" He sighed. "Isn't there a way out? I heard people do heart transplants right?" Charlotte demanded.
"Yeah they do but I aint interested" he said and Charlotte gasped.
