I woke up alone in my bed the next day. Of course, I thought to myself. Just typical Damian now - leaving me after being gentle with me. I became irritated by him. I didn’t want to think about him anymore, so I just busied myself with work.
For the next few days, still no texts from him. I didn’t try to text him too. If he wanted me to text him, he should text me first. I knew it sounded childish, but I didn’t care anymore. I didn't want to be hurt by him anymore.
Six days had passed, and I still hadn’t heard from him. I was in my kitchen when my phone rang. I left my tea there and ran to get my phone. Guessed as much as I disliked him, I still wanted to hear his voice. I picked it up without checking who it was.
“Hello?” I answered breathlessly.
“Kat?” I heard Cole’s voice from the other end of the line. My heart filled with disappointment, but I decided to talk to him, hoping he could help take my mind off Damian.
