I felt my body growing cold and beginning to hyperventilate, but I tried to keep myself calm, not wanting anyone, especially Damian to know. I couldn't let Damian encounter him here, he will most definitely make a scene, which I didn't want to happen. I didn't want to embarrass Rai’s parents and Damian.
“Baby girl, are you okay? You haven't touched your food yet, and you look pale,” suddenly I heard Damian’s voice asking me.
“I’m..” My voice came out croaked, so I had to clear my throat before continuing, “I’m fine, Damian. Maybe there are just too many people here, I feel stuffy.”
“Do you want to go out to get some fresh air now? I’ll accompany you,” he said as he looked at me with concern.
“I think I need a little bit of fresh air, but you don't have to accompany me,” I told him.
“Baby girl, I won't allow you to go out alone,” he said with a resolution in his voice.
