Chapter 14 - Frosty Looks and Chance Encounters

Elsi cherished Dicky and Hera's connection. Elsi sincerely hoped that the two of them would deal with issues amicably after learning about their relationship.

Elsi questioned Dicky, "Why don't you just get married to your boyfriend?"

"Elsi, it's not that simple. You still have a lot to learn and are quite young."

Elsi gave a sardonic smile "Our age is still young in comparison. However, Edgar and I are extremely dissimilar."

Dicky became more concerned about Elsi's relationship with Edgar, who would be similar to him, as a result of the frequent occurrence of Elsi using Edgar's name.

"Even if you are still a child in my eyes, Elsi, you are already an adult in theirs. I am certain that you are not a typical youngster."

"What are you saying?"

"How about Edgar?"

Without Elsi droning on about Edgar again, Dicky abruptly posed a direct question.

"I'm not sure,"

"You need to keep in mind that Elsi is human," Dicky whispered.

"Why must we live side by side with them? My life used to seem peaceful."

Elsi had a strong desire to rebel, and after her memory had returned, she knew where her mother was. Dicky merely cast a dejected glance at Elsi's way.

Elsi whispered, "I miss you mom," before lowering her voice. Dicky, who knows how long he has to hide everything from Elsi, felt the same way. Dickie was forced to keep quiet. Hera appeared when she moved in closer to Dicky since she desired to remain by his side at all times.

Hera, who had just arrived, was observed by Elsi "Where do you call home? Those who?" called Elsi.

"I live with someone special to you," Hera said with a smile.

Hera was instantly restrained by Dicky so that she would not speak.

"Do you mean?"

"You like him, Edgar, don't you? I have just seen him passing past," said he.

When Hera simply uttered Edgar's name, Elsi moaned and lost interest.

"I'll enter first," I said.

"Why? Here is Elsi."

Elsi glanced at it before going back into her room because she didn't want to bother them or overhear their chat. Dicky glanced at Hera as Elsi entered the space.

"Don't tell Elsi, you need to be more cautious,"

Dicky genuinely didn't want Hera to speak hastily, and he was concerned that she might inform Elsi.

Hera said, "Don't worry, I know my boundaries."

Dicky exhaled a sigh of relief, realizing that Hera was trustworthy after all, especially considering how long they had been together.

Dicky murmured, "How's Varey doing?"

Although he has long since come to, his memory hasn't been fully restored.

Elsi glimpsed Varey's face, but she wasn't sure if it was her or not. Dicky just groaned, "I don't know where to start."

Hera muttered, "I thought so," but she could only tell after giving Elsi one glance."

"So, what's your strategy?" Hera enquired.

Hera could see what she saw in other people, but she was unable to know what Dicky was thinking about.

Dicky proclaimed, "I'm still waiting."

Should we do it? Hera kissed Dicky and touched his shoulder.

Hera kissed Dicky, who grinned and smiled back.

"We have always had kids; it's just that I haven't given it any thought yet. Furthermore, Elsi is present."

It was difficult for them to develop a deeper romance, Hera recognized.

Hera changed the environment to a warm one and stated, "I'll make food for you."

Elsi assured Dicky she would meet Edgar before packing her books and carrying her luggage. With her vigor, Elsi was in front of Edgar's home in about five minutes.

Edgar, who was about to open the door but hadn't yet noticed Elsi there, was startled by her presence.

"Oh, goodness! Elsi! Simply surprise me! Why did you just show up here? Have I not just contacted you?"

"Have you missed my message? I estimated a five-minute wait time."

Although it seemed illogical for Elsi to arrive quickly, Edgar still clearly remembered Elsi stating that, so he assumed Elsi was joking.

"So you were already on your way when I called, huh?" he questioned.

Elsi simply nodded so that Edgar wouldn't speak further, "Yeah, that's it."

"Did Nessie say she wanted to be here too?" While Edgar searched for Nessie, Elsi arrived by herself.

"Are you sure you're not with Nessie?"

Elsie only gave a headshake.

Edgar, to whom Elsi had given no response at all, complained, "You're very economical when you talk."

"Shall we wait for Nessie first?"

Elsie gave a nod.

They were supposed to meet and work on tasks together, but Nessie was late, and after they waited for a while, Nessie hurried out of Edgar's yard. Don't forget to contact Vian again.

Edgar muttered angrily, "Why did that boy come?"

"What brings you here?" Just by glancing at Vian, who appeared to be guiltless in their midst, Edgar yelled fiercely.

Vian replied with a smile, "I've just been contacted by Mr. Aldo if I'm in a group with you."

Nessie called, not wanting any argument between them, "Let's just get started."

Even though Edgar made an effort to resist, Nessie didn't feel at ease with Vian, especially after Vian had provided proof that they were in the same group by displaying a message from Mr. Aldo. Edgar simply sighed and continued to make sarcastic eye contact with Vian even after learning that Vian was in reality a member of their gang.

Even though Edgar had no interest in Vian, he made an effort to be grateful for his visit. Edgar remained mute and kept quiet.

"What is wrong with you, I ask?"  Nessie enquired about Edgar.

Nessie continued to glare at Edgar so that he appeared normal and did not express his annoyance. Edgar responded, "No, it's okay," in an irritated manner.

Edgar continued to sigh and stare at Vian as he attempted to catch a glimpse of Elsi.

"What are you doing staring at Elsi all the time? Don't look anyplace!"  Edgar muttered and cast a critical glance at Vian.
