The sun had set, and the moon rose high. Dia stood inside the prestigious office that belonged to the Headmistress. The woman, who could strike fear into the hearts of some of the most dangerous men on Earth, sat at her desk, reading a slip of paper.
Before they entered, she recalled the four students leaving the woman office grumbling about the mission they were handed.
"Man, I can't believe we were given such a lame mission." grumbled a boy, a member of the vampire race judging by the color of his uniform.
"I was hoping for something a bit more thrilling." said another boy, also a vampire.
"Stop your bitching and just don't screw up! I don't have time to be saving your asses!" said a girl, whose uniform was different from the two males.
'Gold and Black. She must be a member of the werewolf race.' Dia thought to herself, watching the group disappear down the hall as it was her and Alice's turn to grace the office with their presence.
'Please let it be an easy mission,' Dia hoped with all of her heart. The woman didn't even spare them a glance when she began talking.
"I got a report about a case of robbery and vandalism. What was assumed to be normal thieves caught the attention of the Hunter Association when one of the victims stated in his witness report about a short green man with glowing yellow irises."
Handing the slip of paper to her aid that stood beside her desk, Dia watched the old man walk over to them, hand the report to Alice.
"If you are paying attention in your Supernatural Biology class, then you will know what creature fits that description." The woman leaned back in her chair and lit the cigar in her mouth.
"Goblins. Short in stature and glowing yellow eyes. Plus, looking at this report, I see only jewelry stores are listed. It has to be them. Goblins are known for their immense love of jewels and gold." Alice read the mission slip that stated facts of the case.
"Just what I expected from a straight A student. Now get out of my office—Oh, before you go. Another person will be joining your team." said the Headmistress.
The door was thrown open just as these words left her mouth. A tall womanly-shaped figure cat walked inside as if she was modeling for a fashion show.
"The main star has arrived!" The first thing to catch Dia's attention was the wave of straight platinum blonde locks with violet tips that ran past the girl butt.
"Flamboyant and cocky as always," commented the Headmistress with a displease grin. The girl in question was rocking white cargo pants and high-heeled boots of the same color. The mystery girl wore a white combat jacket over a crop top.
She looked like a female action movie star, ready to kickass and look fashionable while doing it. Leaving the office, Dia watched as the new girl pulled Alice into a happy hug.
The two were quick to start up a conversation when the girl finally noticed her presence.
"Alice, who is the girl with the baby doll face?" she asked. Dia arched an eyebrow at the word she used to describe her face, recalling how Lisa always called it chubby and cute.
Standing between the two, Alice did the introduction.
"Dia meet Taisiya, Jasper's older sister. Tai meet Dia."
Hearing who sister she was, Dia flashed back to the night when all of them were eating ice cream when the blonde named Jasper made announcement concerning his sister. Silence had overcome the table. Those who knew of his sister said nothing until Malik broke it.
"So the rebel is returning."
Not that she got a good look at the girl, but Dia saw zero family resemblance, other than that they both were drop-dead gorgeous.
"She is also the one who managed to catch Ethan's heart," Alice threw in, earning a light smack on the arm from Dia and a gasp from Taisiya.
"Ethan, who wouldn't spare a glance to the Goddess Venus if she appeared before him?! Got a crush on someone?! Oh, you gotta give me the details in the car!" Such news excited the girl.
The girls walked outside. A shiny sports-looking car was parked in the school parking lot with chrome painted details. Taisiya clicked a button on her car keychain, which triggered the doors to open.
"What are you waiting for? Hop inside!"
Alice occupied the front seat, while Dia sat in the back with Taisiya at the steering wheel driving as a bunch of trees and forests passed by them.
"So I've been out of the country hunting down strays who has shown signs of betraying the family. You'll be shocked at the numbers of people who wish to go against the very hand that feed them Tch, pesky little ants." Taisiya grumbled under her breath.
"By that you mean, going against the law established by both the Supernatural Council and the Hunter Association, right?" asked Alice
"You know it! And to make matters, some were eve dumb enough to join hands with a certain evil organization." said Taisiya as Alice contemplated on her words before she came up with a guess.
"You can't be talking about the Black Moon Organization, right?" Alice asked with disbelief in her voice.
"A group of fools, bitter and filled with outdated ideals. They do nothing but cause trouble that we have to clean up."
In the backseat of the car, Dia was unable to follow the conversation happening up front. From the rearview mirror, Taisiya saw the look written on the pigtailed girl face and decided to change the subject.
"Dia, right? Tell me a little about yourself! Just how on earth did you get that introverted block of ice Ethan crushing on you?"
Dia played with her fingers, unsure how to respond. "I'm nothing special. I can only tell you that I love the color pink and sweets! But about the situation with Ethan… Hmm, I don't understand it myself." She curled a piece of hair around her finger. Taisiya smirked at the other's shyness.
"I think I understand why Ethan likes you! What are you anyway? By your smell, you're not a werewolf, and I'm not getting the sense that you're a vampire. Witch?"
Taisiya was happy to hear that she guessed right when Dia expression confirmed it.
"Alice, how's the relationship with Malik? You two still all lovey-dovey and annoying?" The violet-haired girl peeked at Alice and noticed a somber aura coming from her friend.
"What? Did something happen between you two while I was away? Malik actually allowed you to walk away from him? Wait! Did that bastard break up with you after the hell he gave us about asking—"
"It's complicated, but I'm the one who pressed the brakes on our relationship. As they say, shit happens, and boy, did it." There was sarcasm in Alice's voice as Dia was surprised to hear the prim and proper curse for the first time.
"So shit hit the fan and you ran away?" Taisiya said casually.
"I did not bail!"
"No need to get angry, obviously other stuff happened but let's not get into that right now."
Taisiya eyed the sign that welcomed them into the city. "We're entering the city and I still don't know the details of the mission," said Taisiya. Alice caught her up on the details.
"Goblins?! Those ugly creepy bastard that love gold, jewels, and feeling up pretty women? Ugh! TI those things!" Just the thought of them made the female vampire skin crawl.
"From what I've read, they already hit up three jewelry stores. Nine out of the ten odds, they're going to come back and another before changing their target onto a bigger heist in the city like national bank," said Alice.
"Can't allow that to happen. So ladies, let's go slay some goblins~!"
