Inside the house, only a few lingered inside, finding better things to do like making out upstairs in one of the many rooms or placing bets on who would win. When Daphne saw Sara pacing the floor, nervously chewing on her nails, she scoffed at the blonde's cowardness despite having a hand in the plan that she crafted.
"Are you sure we won't get caught? I don't want that 'goody-two-shoes' to find out what we did."
"Relax. Alice comes from a lowly background unlike you and me. Besides, it is not like I issued a kill order. Just want to break her spirits... and maybe her bones." The cruel smirk on the other girl face honestly scared Sara a little, but she wasn't about to act against her.
Since the two took the exams and became trainees under the Hunter Association, Alice had been a thorn in Sara's side for a long time and decided it was time the other girl learned her place.
Inside the spacious and beautiful greenhouse, Dia and Lisa stared in shock at the long thorn, a little bit thicker than a needle, sticking out of Alice's shoulder. Drops of her blood stained the precious white stone floors as Alice continued to scream before finally regaining her bearings, weakly glaring at the vampire.
"You'll pay for this!"
"That's cute! I can't wait to see your body covered in scars!" The thorn was wrenched from Alice's shoulder as the girls finally took notice of the rose thorn whip the vampire wielded in his hands and swung it at Alice.
Suffering from the pain of her bleeding wound, Alice pressed a hand to it to keep it from bleeding too much. Due to the injury, Alice's movements were sluggish unlike before.
"There's no way she can fight in that condition!" voiced Lisa.
"She needs medical attention before she ends up bleeding out!" said Dia, noticing that despite Alice's best attempt to stop the bleeding, the more she exerted her body defending herself against her attacker, the injury worsened.
The blood from Alice's injury caused the vampire's eyes to glow crimson with hunger. "Your blood smells delicious, little huntress! Maybe I should force you into a bride contract? Your looks ain't so bad, plus it will be fun breaking you in!"
"You know the laws forbid vampires from forcing humans into a contract without their consent!" Alice reminded him, barely able to move her arm when the vampire swung his thorn whip at her. She managed to cut it but grew alarmed when the vine regrew and split in two.
"You and I both know those laws are not perfect. Such as, a vampire can take the child of a human as long as they have the parent's consent," calmly recited the vampire as another scream of agony ripped from Alice.
A rain of blood dripped down Alice's arm and leg, punctured with tiny needle-like thorns, immobilized as they were wrapped by the vines of the rose thorn whip. "What a pretty little doll you'll make for my growing collection."
The vampire grazed Alice's cheek with his nail. Blood oozed from the wound. Sticking out his tongue, he trailed it up Alice's cheek, before savoring the taste of her blood.
"So delicious~!" A lustful moan issued from him. "The blood of my dolls always tastes the best when they're in pain!"
The boy chuckled evilly before the laughter in his eyes disappeared. Lisa charged from behind with a chair she stole from the antique white table set. Despite its fragile appearance, the chair was heavy and a normal person would have had difficulties picking it up, but not Lisa who, since she was little, possessed abnormal strength.
Ready to swing it at the vampire's head, a green vine wrapped around the legs of the chair and flung it across the room. "Outsiders should stay in an outsider's place." The vampire released Alice, who fell to the ground, unable to stand due to the injuries inflicted on her.
"Well, I'm not about to stand there and watch you torture my friend!" Lisa picked up another chair and threw it at the vampire's beautiful feminine face. Only for it to be crushed by the vines of his whip.
"I have to give you credit. Instead of weeping like your pathetic friend over there" —The vampire stalked in Lisa's direction, pointing at Dia who rushed to Alice's side with tears in her eyes— "or cower and plead for your life, you foolishly put on a brave front and continue to fight for your life."
The vampire commended her, pausing as there was a great distance separating them. Until he disappeared and reappeared, closing the distance as he reached out his hand and seized Lisa's neck.
"Lisa!" Dia tearfully called out her best friend's name. Afraid of what the monster might do to her, Lisa continued to try and fight back, despite her struggle to breathe, clawing at the man's arms.
"But unlike your cute friend, I find you a complete bore." Without care or consideration, the vampire swung Lisa aside like a child dissatisfied with his toy. Both Lisa's back and head slammed against the stone of the female-shaped water fountain, knocking her unconscious as she fell into the water.
"Two down! One to go~!" The vampire sang a merry tone, turning those scary crimson eyes onto Dia who was paralyzed with fear.
'What do I do? Both Lisa and Alice are in terrible shape and need medical attention! But who will help us? Why is this even happening in the first place?!'
Dia screamed from the bottom of her heart. Her petite body shivered like a leaf in the wind as she watched the creature grow closer. He purposely took his precious sweet time, fueled by the fear that dripped off her in waves.
'I can't just sit here!' Closing her eyes, clasping her hands together, Dia prayed with all the strength in her body. Hoping that someone would listen to her pleas. 'Please! Someone! Anybody! Mom and Dad in heaven! Help me! I'm begging you!'
"Aww! Is the little mouse praying to god?" Dia's attempt to ask for rescue made the vampire laugh.
"What a submissive bitch," he coldly mocked under his breath.
Ready to attack Dia with his rose thorn whip, the unexpected happened. From inside the house, Daphne was ready to make her departure when she unexpectedly heard the female voice of her familiar say inside her head,
"A sister has awakened into her true heritage."
The girl ocean blue eyes crinkled with confusion when in the distance, not too far from the house, a burst of dark energy leaking of magic descended into the sky, catching the attention of those far and near. Daphne was soon joined by the others who came outside to stare at the pink pillar of light.
"Wait a minute... That pillar of magic! A witch has awakened?! What the hell?!!" screeched Sara. Narrowing her eyes at the pillar, Daphne was not pleased to see her plans go haywire and silently took her leave.
"This was not part of the plan! Daphne, what do we do?! Daphne…?" Sara turned around only to see the blue-haired girl nowhere in sight.
