I awoke slowly, I soon realized I was in total darkness, I could feel softness all around me and felt a slow relaxing bobbing motion that soon ushered me into sleep, I knew I was forgetting something important at this very moment but couldn't fight urge to sleep. I then dreamed for the first time in a long time.
Trye was a simple Jynn, he never craved the power that many of his species coveted. Jynn were natural cultivators and all were born with a jewel imbedded in there foreheads and another in there hearts, many speculated that's why they were able to cultivate heavens energy, while the other races were able to cultivate as well their greatest cultivators would be middling to the Jynn. All races have their gifts after all.
Trye was unique for a Jynn, he didn't look down on the other races and even chose to live outside of the empire in a small kingdom currently ruled by the last Elven royal family. He married a elven maiden named Maria, and currently cultivated a successful rare herb farm. While most modern Jynn didn't consider themselves racist, they did feel they were superior to the other races and felt it was their job to govern them. Before the current emperor came into power and slavery was legal throughout the empire and many races were forced into chains once they were defeated by the powerful cultivators in the empires armies. Thus why only one royal Elven family exists to this day. The current Emperor came into power around a thousand years ago and decreed slavery illegal and allowed for equality for all races in the empire. That action in itself caused a civil war, even with the emperors absolute power he couldn't just kill thousands of Jynn nobility so a compromise was met with the leading Jynn nobles that stood against the Emperor, the empire was split into the East and the West, the east was governed by nobles loyal to the emperor and the west's most powerful noble was elevated to Chancellor in the Emperors ruling council, thus being the defacto head of the west. While slavery wasn't abolished right away in the west, the emperor no longer allowed the children of slaves to be born into slavery, he also outlawed the breeding of slaves, and the west wasn't allowed to declare war without full approval of the council to obtain war slaves. Eventually only the rich were able to have them as status symbols more than anything, and most of the non Jynn fled to the east empire or to the kingdoms on the borders of the empire. Any that remained in the west that couldn't flee and weren't legally slaves were still treated as second class citizens and highly discriminated against
Trye was born in the west empire and met his wife there, he was born into a large noble family and his wife was sold to them as a child and given to Tyre as a servant. Eventually he fell in love with her and escaped into The principality of Lyria, and was granted citizenship and married Maria and managed to buy a decent plot of land to cultivate herbs for medicines for Cultivators. Maria and Tyre managed to have 3 children, when a Jynn has children with another race they don't come out as a mixed race they either are full Jynn or full elf, two of his children were Elven and his one son was Jynn.
"What are you thinking so deeply about my love" asked Maria when she saw the completive look on her husbands face.
"Just the state of the world" he answered not really wanting her to know he was thinking about the past that was better off forgotten. At this time his two daughters could be heard yelling in the distance by the large stream that ran through there farm. They were supposed to picking wild herbs that Tyre would experiment with crossbreeding. Maria and Tyre looked from house and saw one of his girls running at full speed while the other was holding a large bundle and walking at a slow and careful pace as if she was scared that even one misstep would break what she was holding.
Tyre and Maria gave each other a worried look and decided to meet Cynthia, Cynthia seeing her parents closing in on her stopped and leaned down and grabbed her knees trying to catch her breath. "Cynthia what is the commotion for?" Asked Maria, knowing her usually responsible daughters wouldn't abandon their chores without a good reason. "
"Abi… found a… huff huff… found a… baby" Tyre of course looked incredulously at his youngest child. "You don't just find baby's out of no where" he responded. "Pa I'm telling the truth it's a baby and it looks strange, it's probably a Orc! Abi says it isn't because it's not green skinned, but how does she know what orc babies look like" she responded speaking as fast as she can. Maria being a mother immediately sprinted towards Abi, and while Elves weren't natural cultivators, there racial ability's gave them incredible speed and dexterity, she was able to get to Abi within seconds.
Abi looked at her mother with a huge smile on her face and presented the precious package to her, and unbelievably there was what looked like human baby inside of it.
Humans where incredibly rare in this world, the Heavens energy was not compatible with their physiology and they needed special medicine without it many died within the first year of life. In the past they had many kingdoms but all were conquered by the empire, the fighting was so fierce that the empire outlawed the needed medicines. Humans were scattered to unpopulated wilds and tried to stay hidden.
Maria motherly instinct kicked in and she took the sleeping child into her chest, the child being taken from its bassinet began to open its eyes and look upon the beautiful green haired elf holding him.
