"It isn't faking it. It's just accepting that I can't change it. Do I wish one of us was up there laying next to her, keeping her safe and protected? More than absolutely anything." I saw his eyes as they dropped, it was like my own heart dropping when she had asked if she could think about it. "We promised, and if I've learned anything about our Mate, she needs to be able to make her own decisions. She needs to be in control of her choices. We can't overstep." We were outside now, her window was just above us as I looked up, begging the Goddess to keep her safe while we were out.
