"You promised to stay safely in your chambers where my spell could protect you, not here in the middle of the battlefield," Ray's voice trembled with anger.
"Battlefield? More like carnace. The fight is over, is it not? And these people," she gestured at the ones who were still lying on the ground, "need all the help they can get. How could I stay stuffed inside the castle when there is so much I can do?"
"So much you can do?" His voice was no more than a whisper but it could have as well been a canon. "And what can your grace do? Put yourself in danger? Make the others worry, the ones who should concentrate on fixing the situation? You can't even use magic yet."
Indignant, she freed herself from his grip and answered back through her teeth. "I can do more than you think and it is none of your business if I put myself in danger or not. Besides, I never promised anything. You just left after throwing your threats of leaving at me!"
