Chapter 2 - A Strange Audition

Two weeks passed this way.In these two weeks me and Steve became quite close. We used to hang out very often.Together we had gone for shopping, to watch movies, to have fun in amusement park and also my favourite place- the aquarium. My bonding with Nicki had also became quite good. All was going well when one evening, sitting under the see we (me and Steve) were enjoying the sunset. It was the time when I told him that how deliberate I am to get an interesting job, maybe in some NGO. Hearing that he told me about one of his friends who work in such an organisation. And coincidently they were taking some kind of audition instead of interview for the selection of employees in Los Angeles. I went there the next day without thinking much. Reaching there I don't know why but I was having a strange feeling. Maybe not me but my heart had known that this was the greatest turn over of my life. After waiting for some time in the queue it was my turn. It was now me standing in front of the judges when my eyes went on a table in which six glasses (three filled with water and three empty) were kept in a series in such a way that the first three were full and the rest were empty( full, full, full, empty, empty, empty). The judges gave me the first task without even taking my introduction. I thought that they already got my name from the registration counter. So I started to think about the solution of my first task. My first task was to arrange the glasses in such an order that every filled glass had an empty glass beside it and that too by touching only one glass. Being an introvert earlier, I was having a good intelligence. After giving it a thought I picked a glass filled with water. Now that I can't touch any other glass I had to solve the riddle with this glass itself. So, I poured the water of that glass in the last second empty glass. This made the series the way judges wanted it to be. I was taken to the another room for the second round. With me there were ten more people inside the hall. It was a flexibility test. My fate was really supporting . I am saying so because I had been to Acrobatic class for half a year but had to leave because of my father's posting to Los Angeles. This was hard to pass but I was not one of them who give up so easily. This confidence of mine made me pass this round too. When I came out of the room I got to know that it was nearly 8 pm. Inside it felt like it was just of two but now it seems that we came after doing some kind of time travel. They offered to drop me at my location. But got declined because they seemed to be quite suspicious because what will NGOs do by taking auditions of intelligence and flexibility. Many questions were popping in my mind. Were they into some secret business? Were they qualifying candidates for some experiment? Are they really trustworthy?Should I inform the police about them?
