Chapter 13 - Fight to the Death for Dignity

"Halt, this is Count Manstein's castle. You intruders, retreat immediately!"

Although the old butler was old and his strength was no longer as strong as before, in order to protect the dignity of the Count of Manstein, he still stood forward without hesitation.

"Hehe, invaders? Manstein became a count because of Marquis Bruno's kindness. What right do you have to stop us?

"And I now seriously suspect that the attackers who attacked Count Bruno's men a few days ago were Count Manstein's men.

"Old thing, if you know what's good for you, hurry up and stay where you are. Otherwise, don't blame me and my brothers for being ruthless!"

Viktor, the team leader, was the first to suspect Manstein.

As soon as he finished speaking, the group of subordinates behind Viktor immediately rushed forward aggressively, looking ready to attack at any time.

The old butler looked at the other party solemnly. He already knew that today's matter would not end peacefully.

"Why do you suspect Count Manstein? You just said someone attacked Count Bruno's men? What's going on?

"Even if you want to search our castle, you have to at least let me know what happened, right?"

Then, Viktor told him what had happened in Porto that day.

Unexpectedly, as soon as he finished speaking, he realized that the old butler's expression was a little off. The old butler looked like he was holding back his laughter.

Finally, the old butler could no longer control his emotions.

"Haha, you really deserve it!"

"Old thing, what are you talking about?! Are you courting death?!"

After understanding what had happened, the old butler felt extremely happy.

Count Manstein was hunted down and even forced to leave his territory because of Count Bruno.

The old butler had accompanied Manstein for many years, so he naturally did not have a good impression of Count Bruno and his subordinates.

He couldn't wait for the other party to be unlucky and suffer retribution!

"I say, those people deserve it! They deserve to die!

"This is karma. Don't think that just because you're doing well now, it will last forever. Sooner or later, you'll suffer the same retribution!"

Viktor could no longer control his anger and roared.

"Attack! Kill this old thing and everyone in the castle!"

"Take the heads back and report to Count Bruno. The murderer must be among these people!"

"Yes!"

The old butler had already gathered the servants in the castle and picked up any weapons they could find to protect the castle.

"The Count has given us a place to live and everything. Now, it's time to defend the Count's glory with our lives!"

"Kill!"

The battle between the two sides broke out completely. The old butler took the lead and stopped Viktor.

At first, the two of them fought to a draw.

Although the old butler and Viktor were both viscounts, the old butler was old and his strength had deteriorated.

Moreover, his continuous combat ability was inferior to Viktor's.

Slowly, the old butler began to be unable to withstand the other party's indiscriminate attacks and showed signs of weakness.

Viktor kept leaving wounds on the old butler's body with his weapon.

He said arrogantly, "Old fellow, do you regret it now?

"Weren't you very arrogant just now and not taking Count Bruno seriously at all?"

The old butler spat out a mouthful of blood.

"Hehe, you're just someone else's dog. Even if you kill me today, I'll never respect someone like you!

"You're courting death!"

Poof.

The sharp sword pierced through his heart.

The color on the old butler's face was fading rapidly. He had lost all his strength.

At the last moment of his life, the old butler used all his remaining strength to send a message asking for help.

In a completely different direction from the battlefield, a servant who did not participate in the battle received this message.

He hesitated at first, but quickly chose to leave the castle and head for the Imperial City to find Count Manstein.

Before this battle began, the old butler was already determined to die. That was why he made this arrangement.

With the death of the old butler, the servants of the castle could no longer resist the crazy Viktor and his men.

The evenly matched battle quickly turned into a one-sided massacre. The servants were losing their lives one by one and hiding in the depths of the castle, praying for the arrival of a savior.

On the other side, Fang Ping had just finished absorbing all the experience points awarded by the system and raised his level again.

Now, with his strength, he could easily crush vampires below the rank of Count.

"Fang Ping, are you home? I need to talk to you urgently!"

Just as Fang Ping was thinking about where to test his strength, someone knocked on the door.

From the sound of it, it seemed to be Count Manstein?

He opened it and saw that it was indeed him. Curious, Fang Ping welcomed him in.

"What's wrong with you? Why do you look so flustered? Did something happen?"

Count Manstein took a sip of water and calmed himself down.

"My castle, my castle was attacked by Count Bruno's men. The people there are probably dead now!

"Originally, with my strength, those lackeys of Bruno would not dare to come to the castle to provoke me. But now that I'm seriously injured, my strength is far inferior to what it was when I was at my peak."

"I might not even be able to beat a viscount. That's why I came to you.

"Fang Ping, help me one more time. I know you've been hiding your strength. With your ability, it's very easy for you to defeat Bruno's men.

"If you're willing to help me, I'm willing to share my territory with you after everything calms down!"

Manstein's tone was very sincere. He actually used his territory as a bargaining chip.

It was obvious that he was at his wits' end.

Fang Ping asked a few more questions. After understanding the cause of the matter, he did not know whether to laugh or cry.

Bruno's men were attacked. Was that why he sent someone to take revenge on Count Manstein?

Was it because of the incident at Porto Town?'

Wasn't this because of what he had done that morning?

Fang Ping knew very well that Count Manstein had become his scapegoat. The other party just did not know it.

Under such circumstances, of course, Fang Ping could not reject Manstein's request. After all, this matter started because of him.

It was only right for him to help!

Hence, Fang Ping nodded in agreement. "Alright, leave the rest to me.

"But I can't guarantee how many people will survive in that castle of yours."

Manstein was grateful to hear that.

"It's fine. It's already a blessing in disguise that you're willing to help me.

"It's a pity that my injuries are too serious and I can't go with you. Otherwise, I would definitely kill those bastards myself!"

Time was tight. Fang Ping did not stay in the city for long. He immediately set off for Count Manstein's castle.
