Under the guidance of Huang Jiacai, Yang Ping visited Ruixing's Institutes and Laboratories. The first-generation prototype of the Biological 3D Printer had been produced, but as it was the result of reverse engineering, it wasn't particularly impressive.
However, the second-generation product was nearing completion with significant improvements over its predecessor, even incorporating some innovative technologies.
The planned third-generation product was expected to achieve scaffold-free printing. Until then, all biological 3D printing had to rely on scaffolds to maintain the shape of organs, the only difference being the material of the scaffolds.
Scaffold-free printing technology was the true essence of biological printing. It could not only print the shape of target organs using cells as the material but could also print the connections between cells, authentically simulating real organs at a microstructural level, rather than merely copying the shape of a gourd.
