Shanghai, Office of the Director of Orthopedics at 301 Hospital.
Professor Qin Shi, in his early fifties, had a square-shaped face, high-ridged nose, and a burly figure. His military uniform further emphasized his formidable, upright stature.
He excelled in orthopedics, currently serving as the Chair of the Military Orthopedics Professional Committee. Alongside Professor Su Qingyun, he was considered the most likely candidate to succeed Professor Liang from Xiehe Hospital as the next Chair of the Chinese Medical Association Orthopedics Branch.
Professor Qin received the first-class National Science and Technology Progress Award. As a leader in orthopedics, and particularly spine surgery, he devised a new osteotomy method for the treatment of severe scoliosis.
In scoliosis treatment, he and Su Qingyun from Nandu Affiliated Hospital One, coordinate and complement each other. He also recently became a new member of the China Academy of Engineering together with Professor Su Qingyun.
