For him, Old Han had already extended his imagination as far as it could go, but now it seemed not far enough.
"If there's one article in 'Science' or 'Nature,' could I be promoted to associate professor ahead of schedule?" Yang Ping asked merely out of curiosity, with no other intentions.
Old Han was stunned, he really could not imagine big enough: "This---if there's such an article, not to mention an early promotion, I'm afraid you could become a doctoral supervisor."
Now Old Han was a bit confused, he came to talk about applying for a doctorate, and somehow the talk drifted to the issue of doctoral supervisor. Doctor, doctoral student supervisor, it sounded like a tongue twister.
"Can one article really secure me a doctoral supervisor position?" Yang Ping gleamed at this idea.
"Really!" Old Han almost spouted his tea.
