Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 I have a friend..._1

As the sound of Little Ya's voice came from outside the door, Mu You wiped his face, cancelling the Watchman's skin.

Looking at himself in the mirror, he made sure his appearance and clothes were back to their original state before he went to open the door.

"Boss, all the hamsters have been reserved. Shall we go and get some more... Uh!"

The moment she raised her head and saw Mu You standing inside after the door opened, Little Ya was completely taken aback.

"Boss, you look tired. You got some serious dark circles under your eyes!" Little Ya looked at Mu You with a puzzled expression.

"Eh? Do I?"

Mu You touched his face, wondering if the residual effects of his skin changing would include noticing dark circles around his eyes.

"Yes!"

Little Ya nodded energetically: "You must be stressed, boss. Don't worry though, our shop is doing well. We're not going to go out of business!"

"Uh..."

Helplessly, Mu You changed the topic: "What were you saying earlier? All the hamsters are sold out?"

At the mention of this, Little Ya began to enthuse: "Yes, all of the hamsters are taken. In addition to those, we have four chinchillas, seven rabbits, three canaries, and six carps…" She counted on her fingers.

"That many?"

Mu You was also surprised by this success.

He quickly followed Little Ya downstairs to see for himself.

Indeed, more than half of the cages in the hamster section were empty, and the remaining ones all had tags with the customer's name and phone number on them.

The popularity of these trained pets was beyond imagination!

"Boss, what do we do next? Shall we go get more pets from the preservation center?" Little Ya asked.

"Let's hold off for now."

Mu You thought for a moment before shaking his head.

While training pets only took a wave of his Magic Wand and around ten minutes, he didn't want to look too extravagant. Training two or three per day was more than enough. Any more than that could easily alert others to his unusual abilities.

With so many pets reserved all at once, he already had enough to keep him busy for a while.

And besides, with the shop becoming popular so quickly, he needed time for word-of-mouth marketing to set in.

"Oh, okay."

Little Ya was simply asking, without any real intention, and upon seeing Mu You's reluctance, she dropped the subject and returned to attending the customers in the pet supply section of the shop.

With Little Ya as the only staff member in the shop, the shortage of manpower was apparent on such a busy day, as she was doing the work of three or four people.

"Maybe we should hire some more people..."

Watching Little Ya's busy figure, Mu You contemplated.

"If you need to order pets, you can look at this preservation center." A voice sounded from the side.

Turning his head, Mu You noticed that it was the beautiful vet Zhao Qian, standing there, handing him her business card.

Mu You took the card and read: Zhao xx, Head of Time Pets Breeding Center.

"Time Pets? Do you know the head of this center?"

Mu You looked at Zhao Qian with some surprise.

Time Pets was a well-known pet breeding center nationwide, famous for producing high-quality pets at affordable prices. However, Time Pets was very picky about their suppliers, and many large pet shops had no way to source pets from them.

Mu You had tried to apply to Time Pets as a supplier many times, but was always rejected.

Unexpectedly, Zhao Qian was now handing him the business card of the person in charge of Time Pets.

Speaking of which, this person's last name was also Zhao, could it be….

"This center is my family's business," Zhao Qian verified Mu You's assumption.

"I see..."

"Actually, I'm curious, how do you train the pets here?" After he accepted her card, Zhao Qian finally asked her question.

She had spent the entire morning in the shop and witnessed firsthand how extraordinary the pets in the display area were. She had no doubt that any of these pets, if taken to an international pet competition, were capable of winning.

If these pets had appeared in the hands of a famous pet trainer, she wouldn't be surprised. But they were all in this small pet shop, and in such large quantities….

"Sorry, but that's a trade secret," Mu You replied immediately.

Although he didn't have a pet training certificate, his parents did, and they were both professional pet trainers. Over the years, they had trained a significant number of pets.

Mu You had decided from the beginning that whenever anyone asked about his training methods, he would attribute them to his parents' expertise.

As expected, Zhao Qian didn't push the subject any further, as he'd made it clear it was a trade secret and asking more would be inappropriate.

After spending the morning in the shop, Zhao Qian was now ready to leave.

However, before leaving, she turned to look back at Mu You, studying him for a moment, before asking, "I still can't understand it. Are there really people in this world who are naturally attuned to animals?"

Although Mu You didn't tell her his training methods, she understood by her own senses that in order to train animals to this standard, it had less to do with methodology and more with 'natural talent.'

However, she was a high-achieving graduate in biomedical science, and her textbooks had always told her that there's no inherent difference between humans in the eyes of animals, only postnatal behavior and scent differences. There is no individual who is naturally close to certain animals. Yet everything that happened today seemed to challenge this belief.

"There is nothing in this world that cannot be explained. The only reason we cannot explain something now is because we don't know enough about it yet," Mu You responded with a smile.

He thought of the few spells he had learned. To anyone unfamiliar with magic, it would certainly seem like something awe-inspiring and inexplicable.

But after actually using magic, Mu You felt that it was a very complex and strict system with its own logical chain and internal theorem. The only reason people couldn't understand it was because this system contradicted human scientific understanding.

He believed that one day, as more and more people step into that world and learn more spells, magic would eventually be entirely understood by humans.

Zhao Qian was stunned, staring at Mu You's face for a long while before saying, "You remind me of a friend of mine…"

"A friend?"

"Yes, she said the same thing to me... and you even sound exactly like her when you speak!" Zhao Qian said nostalgically.

Mu You's eyes brightened: "What does your friend do? Is she also a vet?"

Zhao Qian instantly understood his implication and playfully rolled her eyes: "Stop dreaming, my friend has a double doctorate in biomedical science and human DNA. She went oversea four years ago... "

Zhao Qian didn't continue her sentence, but her meaning was abundantly clear: would it be appropriate for someone of such caliber to work in an obscure pet shop?
