The City of Eternal Night was enveloped in a massive black spherical barrier, entirely shrouding the city within it.
Outside the barrier, the moon shone brightly with twinkling stars scattering its soft glow across the vast landscape, illuminating it as if it were the middle of the day. But within the barrier, there was nothing but pitch-black darkness, so dark that one couldn't see their hand before their eyes.
Of course, since this was not underground, the natural phenomenon of a 'lightless night' that occurred in Dark City did not present here. This 'eternal night barrier' only purpose was to create darkness. It did not restrict light sources.
"Everyone, check your shadows immediately!" The Tyrant ordered. The Ghost Captain's ability to travel freely through shadows had left a profound impression on him—it was an ability too unpredictable and needed to be constantly watched for.
