On a day like today, the sun is beaming, the sky's as clear as a pond's surface, and the birds are singing lullabies.
On such a day Kevin grabbed his newly ordered VR to play the most popular MMORPG which was a hit all over the globe reaching 5 to 6 billion players!!! Nearly the whole world.
This game which was based upon Norse mythology, with many different races diverging from humans, Demi-Humans, and
being able to use magic like a magic caster and being able to slice down mountains is very jaw-dropping.
but the final reason why this game made it so far internationally is because of the implemented senses you gain, unlike regular VR systems this was a full dive VR immersive experience, meaning your mind and all your senses come with you in the game. with this everything you do, the air you breathe, the water you drink, you would feel and taste all of it.
In only 4 years, it reached almost every corner of the globe.
In the game Edda Online, following the myths and legends that follow, Kevin whose character is a Skeleton, an undead who is immune to death, slashing and thrusting attacks, and immune to pain and hunger, etc. This falls into the
Starting up Edda Online and seeing the starting menu Kevin noticed a notification saying that an update was initiating at midnight, not minding the information much he hops in after checking for the time which was 11:45 Pm, sighing because he would be kicked off in 15 minutes Kevin so within this time in his "home" which consisted of nothing but bones of various races, monsters, and beasts that roam the lands of Edda.
while sitting on his throne he started going through his status looking at everything he achieved over the years, Kevin uses this game to pay for the apartment he's now staying in so his character was his lifeline so he always kept it in tip-top shape.
After purchasing a couple more skills using XP (Experience points) and finally choosing a new Sub-class GREED which helps improve all the stats of the character.
by the time Kevin finished it was 11:59:07 knowing he was going to be kicked out soon he hurriedly used his teleportation magic to go to a hunting ground and test his new class before time was out easily finding a decent beast to kill he instantly cast a fireball to incinerate the opening in the grasslands and opening his status seeing his newly achieved stats before finally being forcefully booted from the game, taking off the VR capsule he quickly realized he was still in his character Thanatos! being shocked he fell to his floor and began thinking.
"I'm not still in the game right..." he tried to pinch himself until he realized he's a skeleton and they don't feel pain stuck in a dilemma he slowly drifted out when he thought about magic! he thought about the status only for it to pop up in front of him in a transparent blue box, he immediately looked at his stats which displayed

"Sigh" Kevin could only sigh looking at his current level and stats, just by looking at these he knew he wasn't gonna be able to cast most of his magic, "AAAHHHHHHHH!!!" The screaming from outside awoke Kevin or the now Thanatos from his thoughts and to the window in the room, looking out he was horrified by the sight, of goblins killing and assaulting women and kids, Direwolves devouring both humans and pets apart like a rabid dog "Whaa what in the fuck is actually going on", Thanatos was looking at this sight for a moment until he finally came back to himself coming out of his stupor he opened his status to look at his skills and magic.

Thanatos sees the Skill consume and focused on it not thinking much about it until a description came and explained the skill to him.

seeing this he was ecstatic to know he can quickly gain his previous strength back with just a little bit of effort.
it was also at this very moment that a voice descended upon every living being on earth in the gentlest and serene voice ever heard.
"Attention, I ask from all of the sacred people greater and lesser, The offspring of Heimdall, Father of the slain, ye wished that I should inform yourselves for, the beginning of the end."
Hearing this voice inside of his head Thanatos was shook to his core as he recognized the voice.
It was the voice of Voluspa, The Seeress, the being who foretold all events meant to come and play out in Edda Online.
"Beasts of origins unknown have arrived to all major metropolis's on this marble, killing, raping, mutilation, etc."
"If you want the chance of retaliation then pray to the sacred people, Greater or lesser to be able to obtain traits and abilities similar if not one of the same"

Thanatos hearing all of this for the first time, lookedâŚ. Shocked, and soon after confused
"What the.. Voluspa didn't mention anything like this in the game"
"But more importantly I can't believe what's going on in the world right now⌠everything seems so unreal"
"And I can't even pinch myself awake, much less feel any pain for that matter"
Wanting to check if the information Voluspa said was correct he quickly grabbed his phone out from his dresser n tried to unlock his phone to no avail
"Dammit.. forgot I'm all bones now"
Picking up a stylus from nearby he went to search on the web to find the topic
Lucky for him it was the very first search
"Seems like everyone also had the same idea"
Saying this he listens to the rest of what Voluspa has to say

Grabbing a backpack and a couple of essentials such as a change of clothes (not that it's needed), flashlight, kitchen knife, etc.
Grasping the handle to the door that lead outside, to the destruction and massacres all over the globe.
With a calm mind he was reminded of all the times he played the game.
How many times he has played and the fun he once found enjoyable will now face him in its most despising form.
Taking one last look at his status he noticed something that didn't appear before
