"Who knows? I like to draw." His eyes looked at me warmly. I was being hypnotized by him just with that look. "And I like to sketch pretty people."
"Pretty people?" I gave a short laugh. Indirectly he said I was pretty. Now my spirit can fly with Cupid in the sky.
I looked at the picture he made again. Really perfect. He looks very professional in this drawing. And suddenly a whisper in my ear reminded me of Mikaela's saying that if I don't want to deal with Trixie, then I shouldn't go near Marcel.
"Why did you make me your sketch model when you have a prettier girlfriend?" mustering up the courage, the words just came out of my mouth.
"A prettier girlfriend?" his tone rose half an octave, not understanding what I meant.
"Trixie Marshall."
He didn't budge. He looked at me with a monotone gaze, as if he was digesting my answer into his brain. Finally, the sound of his sweet laughter sounded soft.
"We broke up a long time ago. Theoretically, she's not my girlfriend anymore."
YES! YES! YES! Can you hear the evil part of me screaming in my mind??? She circled around in my head saying 'hurray, hurray, hurray over and over. I bit my lower lip just to keep myself from screaming with pleasure.
So, Marcel doesn't belong to anyone, which means I'm free to approach him. He's single, and so am I. Hopefully, Cupid's arrow will hit it as well. I held my joy in my heart. I gave him my angelic sweet smile which I rarely give to anyone.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome, Daphne."
