Chapter 15 - Stagnated

The night club was loud, with everyone dancing, drinking, enjoying and some getting high. As Sathvik told me on a call yesterday, one of his informers might have some knowledge of the person I was hunting.

I scanned the room, looking for that man in perticular. There were a lot of people just shouting and getting into a mess. The smell of sweat also added to my disgust. The man in question was nowhere to be found. I went all over the place, in all the corners but couldn't find him. The only place left was the toilet.

It had three people using it, two were using the urinals and the other in the stall. The two did not fit into the discription, so left was only one.

After a while, he came out and headed straight to the sink. I slowly followed suit. We were right beside each other washing our hands.

'You the informer?' I asked

'You a cop?' He asked

'Do I look like a cop?' I asked

'Can't say.' He said as he turned of the tap and started wiping his hands with the tissues, 'But if you were one, you'd make a bad one.'

'I'm a journalist and I need some information.' I said

'What information?' He said

'There was an imposter in Maxam hospital, Doctor Khan as I know him. I need to know about him?' I said

'I don't know.' He said

'I know you know it so just say it.' I said

'Hey man,' he said, 'you know you got to give something for that?'

'How much?' I said

'Ten.'

'Ten-thousand?' I said as is I did not expect it.

'You want it give it now. I'll increase it later.' He said

I immediately pulled out my wallet and gave him that amout.

'Now tell me.' I said

'Listen. There is a lot of talk of Mary. There was this guy Muhammad Gaffar Khan who should be the guy you want. Now, not long back, he was spotted at the hospital where Mary was there. He's been real low after that, so barely anyone knows where he is. He's hiding somewhere at Redlie Amines, very anonymous so he's untraceable.' He said.

'Tell me exactly where he is.' I said

'He's taking cover at that monastery there.' He said

'Where is John, Mary's brother?' I asked

'Ten-Thousand and you'll know.' He said

I shook my head and walked away.

'Hey,' he said as I was at the door about to leave, 'look for the website endlinejournals.'

I nodded.

Few hours later, late night on Sunday, I was on my desktop looking for that website. On Google there seemed to be no relevant results that came up. In fact, there was no such website. The same was the case on other search engines. Fortunately, at duckduckgo I found a single result. It was an article that spoke of an unspoken event of this website.

'"There was a website called endlinejournal.com, that supplied a hundred percent true and reliable information, so true that it'd destroy the powerful people in the political spectrum. An anonymus creator of this website is responsible for this website's content.

Just a few months after this website surfaced, there was a comotion, which of course did not take a note in the media, but was definitely a ground-shattering move for those people.

Shortly after that this website disappeared from the face of the internet. The creator was never brought before the public eye which spun a lot of rumours."'

The website also had the website link but it led to nowhere. I kept repetedly trying the link but my attempts were futile, just like an egotistical middle schooler when he looses a compitation.

But my luck was good because after countless tries, the page showed unauthorized user, unlike before which showed as unreachable because no website like that existed.

Now the question was how to access the website. The only plossible solution was to find the correct ip address that is authorized to log into this website.

I called up Avani after the long immoderated investigation. It is difficult to speak to a person whose ego you've shattered. It was sort of awkward at the begining, but I without wasting any time apologized.

'Find out the specific ip address that can log into this website. Don't use VPN, or Tor Browser kinds, or proxis. This just goes sort of missing.' I said

She just replied with a hmm and left of. I just let it rest at that. Things seemed to be going slow and unanticipated, but I did not know what the results of this investigation held for me.

'Welcome to the Express Podcast where we discuss all sorts of topics with knowledgeable guests. Just like before, we've brought to you a very special guest, Ms. Mary L Lupin.

Ms. Lupin is well known for her contributions to the society by upholding the rights of minority communities by fighting for her community's rights to show others that they can fight for themselves. Ms. Lupin belongs to Dhangzu community, one of the marginalized communities in the country. Today they stand just among the ordinary citizens, unlike before when they used to be associated with the 'Untouchables'. Ofcourse today these terms cannot be used, but Ms. Lupin has become an exceptional example for them.

Joined with me today is Reyansh Joshi, a well known journalist in my openion. He has truly uncovered many secrets. Thank you for joining me.' Said the host with a great enthusiasm. Then he looked towards Mary.

'Ms. Lupin, so how do you feel being here today?' He asked

'I feel great and honoured to be here today with you. I appretiate the introduction you gave about me. Thank you.' She replied

I just sat there thinking whether I should appretiate her work and help her gain recognition, or just attempt at putting her in a semantic trap?
