Chapter 27 - No more dust and a bad day for Copper

Pov 3 person

It's been six days since the girls' training and tomorrow is the day they agreed to take on their next task. For the rest of last week, they didn't leave the house unless they went to buy something, and the rest of the time they sat at home and practised as usual, except that this time they didn't send clones out to steal.

Now, in an underground bunker in Vale that is a hideout for Kurumi and Neo, the two girls are undergoing one of the most important cosmetic procedures

" Cut the whole thing off"

" Just a little more "

Says Kurumi sitting on a chair in front of the new large mirror in the bedroom. Behind her is Neo with one hand holding one of Kurumi's ponytails and the other holding scissors. At Kurumi's words Neo cuts off part of the pony leaving one long and one short.

After doing so, Neo moves to the front and trims Kurumi's fringe then changes scissors to thinners and she begins styling Kurumi's hair.

"Thank you mouse "

Kurumi says after which the girls change places. Kurumi's bare feet are now on a soft fluffy rug. The whole bedroom floor is now covered with this Type of rugs in white and pink, of course the rugs themselves are stolen.

The mattress that was in the middle of the bedroom has turned into four large mattresses, changing from a makeshift bed to a comfortable sleeping area filled with soft pillows and blankets.

Against on of the wall was leaning a large mirror not fixed which may be due to the Kurumi and Neo' lack of knowledge in construction. At the side of the room was a large wardrobe in white. Of course, the whole room was further illuminated by coloured Neo lights. All of this gave the room a girly feel.

"How much should I trim them? "

Asks Kurumi with a comb in her hand showing Neo the amount of hair to cut.

Neo seems to look in the mirror but for Kurumi it is enough.

" are you sure?"

Asks Kurumi when Neo nods in confirmation. With Neo's approval Kurumi is about to cut her hair but before the scissors can touch Neo's hair all the light and ventilation in the bunker stops working leaving the girls in darkness.

" Great "

Pov Neo

" This is here "

Says Ash as me, Kurumi and Copper get out of the car just in front of the dust shop.

" Copper you are there as an adult however leave the counting to Neo or Kurumi they are better at it than you. "

Before Copper can deny this word Ash drives off which leaves Copper stunned. For me and Kurumi it's funny enough to make us want to roll on the floor from laughter but Copper might get offence and we need him to buy dust .

' Unfortunately we won't buy it with help of illusion we need a real ID card'

Passing shocked Copper, me and Kurumi enter the dust shop. Inside are displays of whole crystals and transparent tubes of already powdered dust. Following Kurumi we approach the counter where a middle-aged man stands reading the catalogue .

" We do not sell goods to children ".

Says man without losing eye contact with the magazine in his handsa.

" I am with them ".

Cupper's voice is heard behind us.

" And you are ?"

Asks the man leaning over the counter.

' I have a bad feeling about it.'

And looking at Kurumi she has this feeling too. When we look at Cupper I feel like I can see the cogs working in his head as he tries to put together an answer.

" Father "

And so silence fell in the room. Looking at Kurumi her eyes look a s if she has lost all intelligence and I am not surprised because.

" Boy you are about twenty-two years old at most".

Says the salesman expressionlessly.

" Twenty three"

Copper says.

' Copper stop I can feel you making me lose my IQ'.

However, despite my silent pleas Copper doesn't seem to notice how unreasonable he is at the moment.

" They look no older than eleven years old "

Says the guy however despite this Cupper doesn't see the problem.

' Copper is a great teacher and a nice guy. I'd say he's like an older brother who always has time for you but I really don't know if he's pretending or really not thinking'

" Your hair is a copper colour and theirs is three different colours and none of them are copper"

The salesman says and Cupper looks at him with a 'I don't see the problem with that' face. Looking at Kurumi I see that she has had enough and looking at her face she puts her acting skills into action

" This is our Stepfather ".

" Our mother is rich and Cupper likes money".

Tells Kurumi in an innocent tone and at the same time with such seriousness that she would be able to convince you that grimm are cute or that the moon is whole. Adding a cute face and ponytails with a gothic dress.

' An arrow of loveliness straight to the heart.'

The middle-aged guy sighs and leans over to look at us.

" You are both similar to my daughter ."

Says men behind the counter. And fortunately he doesn't seem to going to take out pictures of his daughter and start telling us about her.

' But still I wish my father had been like that'

With this thought I watch as the salesman looks at Cupper with an uncomfortable gaze.

' This is probably at the mention of Cupper only going for the money'.

' Kurumi remedied the situation and punching Cuppern'

' Cool'

"Are these questions important? "

Asks Cupper noticing with that dull head of his that something is wrong.

" I prefer to know who I am selling my dust."

" But well what do you need "

Says the salesman looking at Copper. In response Cupper looks at Kurumi who gently nods in confirmation.

" I would like to enquire about the cost of the dust for the generator"

Copper says.

" For what time and what Generator?"

Asks the salesman pulling out another book that was lying on the counter and if I am not mistaken it is a catalogue .

" For six months"

" And the Generator is..."

Without finishing his sentence Copper looks at Kurumi waiting for her to answer.

" XH 35 6782240"

" These are the serial numbers"

Kurumi says as the salesman looks at her from behind the counter then he starts flipping through the pages in the book.

" model 35 old and one of the first energy efficient".

" Now they don't make any like that anymore because they want people to buy new ones that break down quickly and swallow dust to make more Lien "

Purrs the salesman stopping at one of the cards after which he pulls out a calculator and starts to count something.

"For half a year that will be nine thousand five hundred and twenty-two Lien,"

" This generator for this price should work for a regiment of a year , of course it depends on what it is used for ."

Says the salesman while I look at Kurumi.

' She is the one who manages the money it is up to her whether it is worth it to us or not.'

Copper does the same while we wait for Kurumi's decision this money is not small it is most of what we have earned and all we have mostly left .

" We'll take it"

Whispers Kurumi towards Copper who nods saying.

" We'll take it"

Copper says as he walks up to the counter then pulls an envelope out of his pocket and, after counting out, places the money in front of the vendor.

"I'll have it all sewn up in an hour do you have any truck for me to load it on? "

The salesman asks.

"In a minute it will be. "

Says Copper, whom the whole world is picking on today. After which he pulls out a scroll presumably calling to Ash.

Thank you for your purchase Miss.

Says the seller looking at Kurumi.

' That is to say, he has realised.'

' It doesn't matter anyway, we have dust so it's good'.

After this the three of us leave the shop however looking at Kurumi's face I can see that she is rather sad.

Walking up to her I poke her on the shoulder and look at her sad face with a smile. Looking at me Kurumi smiles too.

' What is going on?

With this thought I look into her eyes.

''What we have left we will spend on food so we won't have enough for scrolls."

Kurumi says.

" What are you worrying about mum said that if you want you can get the ones that someone sold in our pawn shop."

Cupper says.

' Kurumi always wants to do everything herself '

With this thought I look at my friend and wonder what our future will be like.
