Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Pilot

The day I got on my flight I wasn't really expecting anything but a normal experience, but as soon as I walked in the airport I had this uneasy feeling, and I tried to ignore it even though it made me feel sick to my stomach.

Maxie and I were putting our luggage on the wheel where they inspect your suitcases and everything when I suddenly felt a rush of dizziness, and she turned to me, asking what was wrong.

"I don't know," I took a deep breath and covered my forehead with my hands after sitting down on a bench behind me, "I just got this weird feeling."

She squinted her eyes at me, kind of confused, and asked, "What do you mean?".

"Like I just got really dizzy for no reason and for a split second I thought I was dying," I explained dramatically while staring at the floor.

Maxie just stood there trying to figure out what to do at the moment and after a couple of minutes, she went to get me a bottle of water. I chugged it down and then when we finally got ready for our flight, everything just completely felt off.

We got ourselves seated and the flight attendants instructed us to buckle our seatbelts, and at that very moment I had this premonition that something was going to go wrong, but I didn't know why, and I just brushed it off as anxiety.

The intense rattling underneath my feet while taking off grew much louder as we reached the clouds and remained for quite some time until the weight of the plane drifted backward, and we all went flying.

It happened so quickly that I didn't even get a chance to peek out my window and see where we were before we began crashing into land, but I caught a glimpse of a big body of water as we were falling.

Eventually we crashed and I was actually blacked out before I woke up and saw the aftermath. I went looking for Maxie, praying that she was alive, and that's when I found her sitting up against a tree, holding a piece of cloth over an open wound on her stomach, and groaning in pain. I rushed over to check how bad it was, and thankfully, it could have been worse than what I saw. I went back to where the plane had landed to look for a medical kit so I could stitch up her wound and see if anyone else was alive. There was no stitching material, but I used a bandage wrap to prevent any further bleeding and protect it from severe infection.

I could have sworn there was at least one other person from our flight that was, because I heard movement coming from the crash site, even though I looked multiple times and saw nobody. So after that, we gathered some safety equipment, everything else we needed, and then headed into the forest that we landed nearby to try and see where exactly the plane had crashed.
