Qin Feng grinned and asked absent-mindedly, "Are the E-tier beasts going to linger on this island?"

Yang Ping answered hastily, "E-tier sea beasts usually do not like to stay on shallow waters due to their large body size. This marked the first wave of the sea beast tsunami.

The soldiers were now paler than before.

Unfortunately, God did not answer his prayer as the beasts swam straight toward the island.

The defensive strength of the Islet Tortoise was comparable to the energy force field of a city.

However, its giant head was the beast's biggest weakness. The beast could be killed easily as long as the attack hit the bullseye. That was easier said than done because the Islet Tortoise was equally agile.

Feeling the hostility from Qin Feng, one of the giant tortoises charged straight for Qin Feng.

Yang Ping stared at his communicator with a stiff expression, like his eyes were about to pop out.

"Senior Yang, what is happening to you?"

Somebody beside Yang Ping called out to him with a push.

He quivered and instantly recovered from the blank stare he had on, and his facial expression had changed.

"Qin Feng, Qin Feng is still alive!"

The person looked stunned for a short while, as if he did not hear Yang Ping clearly, like he had already forgotten the name.

A short moment later, he came to, his eyes widening in the process.

"You are saying that the Qin Feng from Fengli colony is alive?"

Yang Ping nodded.

"Inform Boss right now!"

Only then, Yang Ping started panicking and dialed Wang Zhichao's communicator, hastily describing the situation.

Wang Zhichao was silent for a moment, seemingly unable to register what he had heard.

He then clenched his teeth and replied in a deep voice, "Go get him, and find out what happened!"

Yang Ping did not want to obey the order, but he had to.

He could only hope for the best!

Yang Ping suddenly had an urge to kill with this thought in mind!

Two hours later, Yang Ping had arrived at the shelter island, and from afar, he could not believe what was before him, it was the same as he had left it ten days ago!

The speedboat travelled closer toward the Blackstone Fort that was about to collapse, and its appearance was like a historical building that was filled with marks and scars!

Chapter 263: The Critical Speed

Numerous points of impact, both big and small, had appeared on the surface of the black walls, parts of which had even collapsed.

The scorch marks and shattered stones were indicative of what Blackstone Fort had experienced.

This was not a battle. This was a war!

The boat's helmsman was only a G8-tier aptitude user. In the face of this ferocious force of nature, his face was pale as he felt completely helpless!

There were some G-tier ultra beasts on the beach ahead being hunted by lower tier G-tier aptitude users who were completely oblivious and carefree.

Qin Feng said, "Commander Yang, you saw the way of the tide just now. Best tell those aptitude users now and get them out of here!

Yang Ping was still in a state of shock after coming back from what felt like the brink of life and death, scared out of his wits. He came to after hearing Qin Feng's voice and unconsciously nodded his head.

"Yes, yes. I'm on it!"

If it were not for Qin Feng, Yang Ping would have died at sea. He was a gunner, and in the face of the ocean's force, he would have been dragged below the surface and wound up in some ultra beast's belly.

He quickly issued the alarm, announcing that the tide was inbound. He also dispatched some troops ahead to assist in defense, being so busy that he did not even think of reporting to Wang Zhichao at first.

Qin Feng was naturally sent to Sea City's most luxurious hotel as a sign of respect.

Chapter 264: The Threatening Tide

Of course Qin Feng knew that in the end Bai Li was still just a fox kit that was actually around eight months old, which was why they took baths separately.

They tried but they did not manage to outrun it. The moment the tsunami met the shore, it was no longer a massive wave but a flash flood that had reached the top of the watchtower, and was followed by a school of ultra beasts.

In the unlikely event that the waters threw an ultra beast at the tower, it would have brought down the structure immediately.

Sea water rose, turning turbid yellow the moment it hit the sand and instantly bringing down the fortifications as it rolled forward. The fortifications were originally there to fend off against sea beasts and came equipped with huge cannons but now they were all submerged.

Even heavy artillery was nothing against the force of nature!

The aptitude users who stayed were all immediately submerged under water.

"Run! Run!"

Those who were wise enough to begin running when they realized that something was wrong were now snatching mere seconds from the Reaper. Some found high ground, while others were dragged beneath the waves.

More than eight hundred aptitude users were now in the water.

The turbulent waters that were full of sea beasts.

They fought back with all they got, but even with all their might they still would not have been these monster's match on dry land, let alone face them underwater. There were all kinds of ultra beasts around, falling into the waters was a death sentence!

"Fight back! What are you doing just standing around? Get a move on!" Wang Zhichao barked out orders as he stood in the command room, watching the carnage that was being relayed by a drone.

Right now, all of the heavy artillery was submerged underwater and only E-tier gunners could be mobilized.

"Curses!" Wang Zhichao wrung his hands, gritted his teeth and made the decision based on his gut. "Hurry and grab every E-tier aptitude user you can and get them to the frontline!"

"Deputy Mayor! You're… you're going too?!" His secretary beside him asked in a voice trembling with fear.

"If I go, then who's going to give out orders? Ready the special missiles. If things go south, we'll use those to destroy the beasts!"

The secretary breathed a sigh of relief. At least he was not going to die along with the rest.

"Yes, Deputy Mayor!"

Wang Zhichao frowned, his heart was drumming against his ribcage.

Fortunately, the tide had retreated after swallowing a huge portion of the coastline, leaving a bunch of exhausted ultra beasts and half of the aptitude users alive.

Those who were familiar with the tide knew that it would not end just like that, as far as they knew there would be another one incoming within ten hours.

This high tide basically massacred them in a sudden thrust.

In fact, these survivors did not know that if it were not for Qin Feng's help, the situation would have been more intense and the ramifications much worse. If only Blackstone Fort could hold on, if only Qin Feng did not need to retreat, then these people would have experienced a peaceful month of sea beast tide.

This time, the restaurant was not as lively as when the Wanzong Auction was being held. There were only two to three people, their faces rejoicing as if they had just been given a new lease of life.

He stopped by the open kitchen and said, "I've got an ingredient I'd like you to prepare for me!"

Then he proceeded to pull out a tentacle, which would have been unrecognizable if he did not explain what it was.

When the head chef felt the aura disappear, his body shook even more. This time with excitement!

"In all my years as a chef I never thought I'd be able to cook something from an E-tier beast king! This will become legendary! Rest assured sir, I will definitely do this for you!"

With a twirl, the chef began to work as he unleashed everything he had in his culinary arsenal to produce dish after mouth-watering dish from the ingredient he was given. The smell itself was enough to make people drool.

Qin Feng and Bai Li had a very hearty breakfast.

At this moment, a flustered G8-tier aptitude user entered the restaurant. He looked at Qin Feng and Bai Li as if he had found his saviors.

"Mayor Qin!"

He was still a distance away when he began to shout.

Chapter 265: Put Up or Shut Up

This G8-tier aptitude user was regarded as Yang Ping's confidant, Tian Miao. Moreover, this person had previously met Qin Feng before. He was none other than the helmsman that piloted the floating speedboat!

"I don't want to make this difficult for you. Make Yang Ping personally come here and tell this to me in person!" Qin Feng said coldly.

Tian Miao swallowed hard and nodded quickly, "Yes, yes!"

He quickly sent a message, sweat beading on his forehead.

By now, Qin Feng was almost done with his meal, casually wiping his mouth.

Meanwhile, Bai Li was having a great time chowing down as the chef was still trying to make better dishes and was serving them to her.

"Beep Beep!" Qin Feng's communicator rang. When he saw who was calling, a casual smirk appeared on the corner of his mouth

"Commander Yang, what's wrong?"

Seeing Qin Feng's unworried expression only made Yang Ping even more anxious.

After a night of battling, he looked extremely haggard, as if his energy had dropped by a lot. This was not just the consequence of staying up late, it was because he had been overdrawing from his consciousness. His eyes had dark circles and had a glassy stare.

"Mayor Qin, the sea beast tide is here again!" Yang Ping said with urgency, "Come to the front line!"

Qin Feng only smiled.

"Isn't that normal? Or were the sea beast tides you faced while I was on the shelter island weaker?"

Yang Ping was horrified. He had his own speculations but after Qin Feng spoke he was left in a shock.

The month of the sea beast tide was so peaceful in the earlier stages, could it have really been because Qin Feng was fighting hard against such a desperate crisis?

"Commander Yang, that sea extract you have was very useful. None of those sea beasts approached Sea City and only focused on Blackstone Fort. It's a shame that the fort wasn't as strong, otherwise it probably would have lasted until the end of the month of the sea beast tide!"

Yang Ping looked flushed all of a sudden, he felt a little bit guilty at that moment and even more afraid.

"Mayor Qin, what sea extract… What are you talking about? If you thought that it was useful then that's good, it's good that it was useful!"

"Oh? I fought for ten days and I didn't say I was tired. You are saying that you're tired after just one day? Commander Yang, I think you've had it going much too easy and comfortable," Qin Feng quickly retorted. "That's it then! I'll just take another day off and you and your boys out there can give it your best shot. Besides, I think I've done enough that's worth getting a commission from Sea City. After all, no matter how powerful the ultra beasts are, wouldn't Mayor Lei be able to handle it? Don't think just because I'm some foreign aptitude user that you'll get to boss me around, telling me what to do!"

Yang Ping sputtered from the bitter taste in his mouth. If Lei Chen were here, he would not feel so nervous.

The key point was that Lei Chen was not here!

And now even Qin Feng knew, naturally based on Yang Ping's expression.

They were very powerful and were expensive to use; the problem was that it took more than just one to take down an E-tier beast general, especially giant sea beasts. One shot was simply not enough.

They had already fired five. That was five hundred million gone.

If the situation could have been handled by throwing money at it Wang Zhichao would not have bothered asking for someone to find Qin Feng; they were running low on ammo.

The next sea beast tide could be seen coming from a distance.

"I'm going this time!" Wang Zhichao made up his mind and ordered someone to drive him to the front as he forced himself to go!

Sea beast tides got weaker and weaker each wave, he could only hope that the next wave had weaker beasts!

If this wall were to be breached then the sea beasts would swarm the city and slaughter its residents.
