Chapter 168: Bafflement of Shi Tianhai
The beast general was a large fella, standing at almost two meters tall. Its bulging belly could easily fit two full-grown men inside. Its abdomen hung low, staying close to the ground which owing to its weight, slowed down the beast by a considerable margin.
In comparison to the one Qin Feng bumped into last time at the hotel, this blade mantis was multitudes stronger.
After feasting continuously for the past few days, allowing it to further grow its strength, this blade mantis possessed the potential to evolve into a king-tier enemy.
Too bad, it crossed paths with Qin Feng.
It was apparent that this beast general would be laying its eggs soon. However, this process had been cut off by Qin Feng completely annihilating its nest which of course, agitated this blade mantis to its limits.
Rage as it might but that was not enough to interrupt Qin Feng's search and destroy mission.
"Wowee, look at what we've got here! A diamond in the rough, I must say!"
Clasping the Verdant Emperor Saber in hand, Qin Feng climbed off the umbra stallion. In the next instant, he dashed toward the female beast general with insane speed.
Without hesitation, he started hacking away with the sword in hand.
Clang!
If there were swordmasters among the insectoids, then the blade mantises would be the pioneering species in perfecting this deadly art. It was precisely this reason that this particular group of insectoids was notorious for their ferocity.
Qin Feng's strike was parried by the blade mantis with ease!
However, Qin Feng's attacks were rarely so simple.
At this distance, Qin Feng was practically face-to-face with the great monster. From his point of view, a beam of red light could be seen shining on the blade mantis's hardened neck
A split second later, the blade mantis leaned back powerlessly and where the red light shone, a patch of charred flesh appeared. Even so, the beast general was far from dead.
Qin Feng raised his arm and prepared to strike down once more but the blade mantis too, raised its own scythe-like forelimbs and prepared to slash right into its enemy's neck.
"Phantom Maze!"
Qin Feng avoided the beast general's attack and moved swiftly behind it. Then, the tip of the Verdant Emperor Saber emerged on the other side of its body, smack right at the center of the great mantis's belly.
Splish!
The saber sliced through the beast general as if it was nothing but a block of soft tofu. Qin Feng ripped a large opening on the blade mantis's belly out of which oozed brown blood as well as hundreds of translucent eggs all of which were around the size of a human fist.
"Screech!"
The blade mantis wailed out in pain.
Its body thrashed around violently but the more it moved, the larger the hole in its belly became.
Not wanting to waste anymore time, Qin Feng went in for the final blow. With a wave of the Verdant Emperor Saber which was accompanied by a streak of burning flames, the blade mantis was decapitated with one clean cut.
It did not even take ten minutes for Qin Feng to flawlessly bring down the enemy beast general. The speed at which the battle ended was terrifying to a great deal of regular human beings.
Even Chi Long, who was observing the drone footage, was taken aback.
He reflected, if it were up to him, how long would it take for him to bring down an F-tier beast king?
It did not matter that he was an E-tier aptitude user. His speed, strength and all other aspects could barely match that of a beast general. Area effect weapons were of course an option but more often than not, there would not even be a single item left to collect after reducing the enemy into mere atoms. Gunners were reluctant to take part in such fruitless battles.
What about the good ol' fashioned way of hunting these critters?
'Perhaps half an hour was needed?' Chi Long estimated. He could dash from hiding spot to hiding spot, using shoot and scoot tactics to bring down the enemy. After all, he was a gunner!
Qin Feng was an ancient warrior. No, he was also an ability user.
His speed was faster than the beast general, his swordsmanship, even more precise, and his strength far exceeded the opponent's.
He was practically a hybrid between a human and an ultra beast!
In the drone footage, Qin Feng had started an uncontrollable wildfire that slowly engulfed the entire agricultural field.
To start a fire of such a scale, the ability user was pretty much engaging in genocide against the lord of the ultra beasts.
"That man… who is he?" Chi Long murmured to himself. He could not comprehend just where such a strong ability user came from. The ability user who also possessed skills of an ancient warrior.
At the same time, Shi Tianhai, who was also in the combat operations room, looked at the drone feed with a look of amazement painted across his face.
"That man… he… his name is Qin Feng!" Shi Tianhai exclaimed.
His brain churned a great deal before recalling the name that Liu Xue had uttered to him once. Back then, he was still wearing a G-tier aptitude user badge. He remembered that even then, he already possessed the powers of an F-tier user but due to sheer exhaustion from his work, Shi Tianhai paid no heed to the young man.
Who would have thought that the next time they met, his powers would have grown by such a significant amount!
Qin Feng's powers were simply too strong!
Right at that moment, Shi Tianhai finally understood why Qin Feng was able to guide so many out of the fallen Han Town on his own. Alone, his strength matched that of hundreds of regular human beings.
"Qin Feng? Do we have any intel on him?" Chi Long replied hurriedly. " For there to be such a strong ability user… with his strength, we can seriously recapture Han Town once and for all!"
Hearing this, Shi Tianhai's emotions were stirred up. However, there was a lingering sense of despair in his heart.
Based on Chi Long's words, he gathered that the successful conquest of Han Town was never guaranteed, and the possibility of giving up on it had always been an option.
If not for Qin Feng, would this nightmare turn into a reality?
Fearing the worst, Shi Tianhai quickly replied, "I'll go gather information on that man right this instant! One of my underlings should know a whole lot about him!"
Chi Long nodded. "Don't let him misunderstand our intent. We must approach him with the goal of peace in mind."
"Of course!"
They were going to get down on their knees and beg Qin Feng to lend them his strength!
Still oblivious as to the happenings in the battle operations room, Qin Feng bent down to dig the crystal core of the beast general out of its nasty guts. Alongside hundreds of other mantis eggs, the core was stored into his spatial runic equipment.
Without their mother's body, these eggs could not hatch. Though, if they did hatch, the hatchlings would fetch a price tenfold of what these eggs could at their highest.
These eggs could at least serve as a high-protein snack for Qin Feng.
After that was done, Qin Feng continued burning the fields, killing off the remnants of blade mantises that escaped his previous wave of attacks.
"Halt!"
Qin Feng stopped his Hellfire attack. The ground had been charred black and not a single blade of grass survived the fiery hell. Similarly, carbonised remains of blade mantises littered the landscape, leaving behind their iron-tough forelimbs which were unscratched.
Qin Feng lifted his eyes to see the drone hovering above him.
In the operations room, Chi Long stared into Qin Feng's eyes. There, he took a deep breath and a feeling of awe finally set in.
Within two hours, Qin Feng had completely burned down the agricultural fields alongside a large number of blade mantises.
The drone did not keep count of the bodies but there must have been at least a thousand dead mantises across the ground.
This ability user was a force to be reckoned with.
Perhaps, someday in the future, his powers could change the course of history!
Chi Long ordered for the drone to withdraw from the battlefield. At the same time, he barked out an order, "I don't want our drones spying on his every move but I want you all to focus on the areas he will move through. I want regular updates on those places, understood?"
"Yes, commander!"
The staff members replied respectfully.
Noticing that the drone had left the scene, Qin Feng concluded that the commander must be a sensible man.
It was fine and all to oversee the battlefield but when it came to reaping rewards after the battle was over, Qin Feng often felt infringed if a drone were to remain floating above his head!
These rewards not only brought about money but also one's bane.
If the drone were to overstay its welcome, Qin Feng would have no choice but to take the entire thing down!
"Scan the battlefield!"
Qin Feng ordered.
Riding the umbra stallion, Bai Li galloped across the fields. Where she flew past, the materials would all vanish into thin air. As the entire plot was not too big to begin with, Bai Li was done collecting the loot within five minutes!
After storing the goodies into the spatial runic equipment, Qin Feng climbed onto the horse by grabbing onto Bai Li's waist. Once again, they resumed their journey into Han Town.
Chapter 169: Survivors
Upon entering Han Town itself, Qin Feng got his umbra stallion to start galloping, throwing off low-tier insectoids that tried to ambush them effortlessly.
Instead of focusing on small fries like these fellas, Qin Feng's time was worth much more trying to hunt down their higher-tier overlords.
However, his seek and destroy mission had barely even started before his communicator started beeping.
[Survivor signal detected!]
A tiny red dot appeared on the map of Han Town which popped up on the communicator's screen.
With barely enough food, the resilient human beings would always find a way to survive underground for half a months' time, all while defending themselves against these bloodthirsty creatures.
After all, they were raised amidst an apocalypse!
For those born after doomsday, mandatory education would start at the age of six and end at sixteen—ten years' time worth of lessons on how to survive even the toughest conditions life could possibly throw at them.
Because of the agricultural fields at the Northern entrance of Han Town, many aptitude users refused to even venture near this part, let alone save the poor souls trapped within this district.
Qin Feng was no cold-blooded man. Gifted with such powers, he felt a moral obligation to save as many lives as he could.
He directed the umbra stallion in the direction of the survivor's signal.
"Buzz Buzz Buzz"
A cluster of low-tier insectoids were hot on Qin Feng's tail.
As if that was not enough, a handful of bloodthirsty beetles appeared in the corner of his eyes but it was already too late—they too, hurled themselves relentlessly toward Qin Feng's horse.
He was caught in a pincer attack!
"Hellfire Carpet!"
With restraints on the extent of his attack, Qin Feng retaliated against his foolish attackers. In just a matter of minutes, these G-tier ultra beasts were completely wiped out through his fiery attacks.
Amidst the fiery hellscape, Qin Feng unsheathed the Verdant Emperor Saber and began decapitating the bloodthirsty beetles with single clean slices.
To regular humans, Qin Feng's current position was the worst case scenario to be caught in but to him, it was merely like a walk in the park.
Soon, Qin Feng arrived at the location where the signal was coming from, a store located right beside the road.
Smack right in front of its entrance however, was a massive steel-back snail.
It was just your run-of-the-mill F-tier steel-back snail but its strength, as many had learned, should never be underestimated!
A bad feeling arose in Qin Feng's heart.
He climbed off the umbra stallion, during which the steel-back snail had coincidentally started waking up from its lazy slumber. Stretching out its squishy head, it tried to grab a bite out of Qin Feng.
Without hesitation, he started hacking away at the darned snail.
"Sky Burning Sword Style!"
A two meter long blade sliced off the head of this steel-back snail even before it had the time to fight back.
With a single kick, the headless carcass of this steel-back snail was shoved aside, allowing Qin Feng to enter the shop.
[Remaining distance to the survivor: 35 meters!]
The shop itself was not too big, hence it did not take long for Qin Feng to discover a trapdoor that led downward into a basement. However, the door was bolted shut from the inside.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Qin Feng knocked on the door but the only response he received was dead silence.
Fortunately, the structural integrity of this door was not military-grade. While it could withstand repeated attacks by the ultra beasts, it was easily torn down by Qin Feng's saber.
Focusing all his internal strength on the blade's body, Qin Feng sliced open the door in just a fraction of a second.
As soon as the door was broken down, the metallic smell of blood rushed into Qin Feng's nasal cavity from the room below. Through the dim lighting of the room, Qin Feng could make out the skeleton-like body of a woman, whose eyes were half open, and nestled in her arms was a dying infant, who appeared to be at most two months old.
Upon meeting Qin Feng's eyes, the lady's eyes lit up like the stars in the night sky.
A single word floated into Qin Feng's mind.
Hope!
Seeing the lady's eyes heavily reminded him of this word.
"Save… her…" The lady said as she fruitlessly attempted to pass the child in her arms over to Qin Feng.
He remained silent.
Qin Feng stepped forward and rested his palms onto the lady's back. Then, he gathered a thick wave of internal strength and transfused it into the lady's body, making sure that her heart continued beating as well as to reinvigorate her collapsing lungs.
"Let's go. We'll give her a proper burial."
Qin Feng replied.
While the neo-humans of today had all been injected with an awakening potion, unlocking their body's potential, infants remained as fragile as ever!
A regular human could survive for half a month's time with only the bare minimum but the same could not be said for children.
It was obvious that this lady, after finally reaching the conclusion that there was no longer any food around that she could forage, she tried feeding her child her own fresh blood but even that was an act of futility.
This child had been dead for quite a while!
The lady kept silent. Then, it almost seemed as if she was about to cry but not a single tear was shed from her eyes.
Qin Feng could not bear to see the lady suffer in her despair any longer. He led her out of the basement, back to Bai Li and the horse. In this post-apocalyptic world, tragedies were bound to occur but humans were the most resilient creatures to be able to face such changes and make the best out of it.
As frail as this woman appeared to be, she managed to conjure up enough strength to support herself. Qin Feng passed a piece of bread and some water over to her, which she wolfed down hungrily in seconds. Soon, she regained enough strength to move around.
Qin Feng handed her a pack of beast repelling powder and had her sprinkle the powder in their trail. She was even ordered to rub some all over her body.
Afterwards, Qin Feng proceeded to sweep the streets as well as to check for any survivor signals, which there were. In just a single day, he managed to rescue more than eighty survivors from the jaws of death.
Because of his focus on rescuing these survivors, the number of kills he achieved had dropped significantly from what he could manage the day before. However, he was able to clear twenty streets—a higher number than his previous mission yesterday. Coupled with the bags of beast-repelling powder, these twenty streets were finally announced to be safe from the insectoids.
The days were short during autumn; Qin Feng ended his battle relatively early today. Bringing two cars' worth of survivors out of Han Town, they made their return journey toward the provisional colony set up outside the active warzone.
The merchants who were expecting Qin Feng's return surrounded the man right after he had entered the compound, all of them wanting to buy up whatever was in his hands.
However, even before he could speak, another group of people rushed toward Qin Feng.
The threatening aura of an E-tier aptitude user unconsciously sent chills up the spines of these men, who obediently stepped aside seconds later.
Right now, the only E-tier user of the Han Town provisional colony had arrived—it was Chi Long.
"Mr Qin! Nice to meet you! My name's Chi Long. I am acting as the overall commander of the task force sent to retake Han Town!"
Chi Long enthusiastically outstretched his arm to shake Qin Feng's hands.
While his unexpected arrival certainly did stun Qin Feng, he politely shook the commander's hand nonetheless.
"Honored to meet you, Sir!"
"Haha, no, it's my honor to meet you! I'm here because I have witnessed firsthand, your powers, Mr Qin. I've observed your progress in retaking the agricultural fields in the Northern district of Han Town and I've come here in hopes of cooperating with you. Lend us your strength and we will recapture Han Town together!"
The drone from before instantly popped up in Qin Feng's mind.
So, the man that observed his fight was this Chi Long person.
The commander's act during the final minutes of the fight gave Qin Feng a good impression.
"How would Commander Chi like to cooperate with me?" Qin Feng asked.
"This isn't the place to discuss such matters. Come this way, Mr Qin. I already have dinner prepared. Let's talk about this over dinner!"
Of course, Qin Feng would never turn down a free meal offered by someone of this position. Nodding his head, he agreed to the commander's proposition. As for selling the goods he had gathered today, that would have to wait.
Before leaving, Qin Feng gave Chi Long a reminder.
"These are the survivors I have just rescued from the town. I have no idea what to do with them. Commander, I hope you can do something to help these poor souls!"
Confidently, Chi Long thumped his chest and made a promise. "Jiang Chi, I need you to deal with this! Remember to make proper arrangements for them!"
These were people rescued by Qin Feng himself. To let these people, who Qin Feng put in the effort to save, die of hunger or get pushed around would be the greatest sin they could ever commit!
Right now, what Chi Long needed the most was Qin Feng's help!
With a disappointed expression, Jiang Chi had no choice but to respect the Commander's orders. How could he not be disappointed? He had to stay here and deal with these people who refused to die after being starved for weeks within Han Town and consequently, stank to high heaven while his commander left to enjoy a luxurious banquet.
Chapter 170: Cooperation
It went without saying that feasts ordered by an E-tier aptitude user were usually more on the lavish side of things. While Chi Long was an E-tier gunner, there was also a substantial amount of "the good stuff" proudly displayed on the banquet table.
The table was filled to the brim with intricately prepared food; dishes that would easily burn an arm-sized hole through any F-tier aptitude user's pocket.
Even so, Qin Feng's expression remained unchanged, nor did he wolf down everything laid out in front of him.
On the other hand, it was Bai Li that kept on stuffing her tiny mouth with seemingly unchewable bites of food.
Chi Long's eyes moved over to Bai Li. More specifically, his gaze was fixated on her chest.
Although he had not seen her in action today; Qin Feng bore most of the brunt for today's fight, but for this young girl to achieve the status of an F-tier user, Chi Long understood very well that she should never be underestimated!
At a certain point after their dinner had started, upon seeing that Qin Feng had shifted his attention away from the food, Chi Long finally revealed his aim for tonight's discussion.
"I have observed that while Mr Qin hasn't participated in any group missions today, you have fared much better than the rest of the teams. Your strength is such that it has put me to shame. However, one man can only do so much, am I wrong?"
Qin Feng, who was quietly listening to the commander's every word replied with a nod. "No, that's right. I understand what you're saying."
Of course, he understood what the commander was saying. However, at this point, fighting in groups would only bog Qin Feng down whenever he wanted to attempt a swift retreat.
Seeing that Qin Feng was not refuting his statement, Chi Long continued, "I believe that we can achieve much greater if there were someone suitable to be paired with Mr Qin. Then, our chances of recapturing Han Town would be greater."
"Pairing up?" Qin Feng raised an eyebrow.
In the previous team that he participated in to encircle and suppress the enemy, the members were supposed to cooperate on the battlefield. In reality however, there were a great deal of men who were grossly incompetent.
But pairing up with another was different from such a rag-tag team.
"That's right. I will hand-pick a team of men who will be fine-tuned to fight alongside Mr Qin. They will act as bait for the insectoids and only in the most precise conditions will Mr Qin come out and finish off the enemy. This will speed up the process of our campaign by a significant margin. We will also create special task forces to deal with rescuing those who are still trapped within the town!"
Even after hearing this, Qin Feng's brows furrowed.
"You guys are planning to use baiting tactics? Just who is going to be the bait? Don't tell me they're gonna be ordinary civilians!?"
Such instances were not uncommon.
So long as one could run, they would be qualified to work as bait. These people would shoulder the responsibility of attracting the insectoids to a designated area. To ensure maximum efficiency, it was best for them to have a fresh wound somewhere on their body, with blood exposed to the air. The smell of fresh blood from a living person was the perfect bait to lure these bloodthirsty critters into a trap.
Chi Long's heart started racing as he could sense Qin Feng's mood going downhill.
Fortunately, his tongue was quick, allowing him to turn the situation around. "Of course not! We will be using aptitude users. It'll be much easier to use professionals after all!"
Qin Feng was satisfied with the commander's decision.
In fallen colonies like Han Town, its survivors were extremely difficult to deal with. Some would in such instances, come up with the unethical solution of sending these newly-rescued refugees off to the battlefield. Who cares if they were not fit for battle? Moving in groups of three to five, there was bound to be a casualty or two. The good-for-nothing refugees would then serve as a sponge to soak up the enemy's attacks instead of the real soldiers.
To send the helpless out on such missions basically made them real suicide-squads. Though, if one wanted to bait the insectoids, specially-made machines would do the trick too.
Qin Feng wanted to avoid such tragedies from happening.
All he needed was a small team of aptitude users. That was enough.
"What about the rewards? How will they be divided?" asked Qin Feng.
This meant that personal interests were involved as well!
Chi Long's eyes lit up. From today alone, Qin Feng had wiped out a thousand blade mantises. Not counting the beast general, that would already be over 20 million yuan.
How much would clearing the entire Han Town be worth?
For E-tier aptitude users dispatched to fight in ordinary battles, the gains reached upward of a few million yuan.
For this mission, the rewards would be near uncountable.
Chi Long was engrossed in thinking about the rewards when he was interrupted by Qin Feng's voice. "Leave the fighting to me. Instead of fussing over this, It'll be easier for me to hire people to work with. I'll offer half a million yuan to gather recruits for the mission. Also, please get the top brass to fork out a bit as additional compensation for these people. For those working the logistics to rescue Han Town's residents, I'm offering a hundred thousand per person and ten thousand for ordinary civilians. I need your help in gathering some resources and the reward that follows the rescue attempt would be theirs to divide."
Qin Feng's words snapped Chi Long out of his reverie. Although he felt slightly pained about the lost chance to profit, hearing Qin Feng's explanation, he could see clearly the man's noble intentions.
Chi Long courteously scooped another bowl of fancy pottage for his guest. He did so with utmost caution, fearing that he would stir up Qin Feng's anger.
It appeared that not only would Chi Long lose the chance to profit off this mission, he would also have to hand out some reward to Qin Feng.
"Aye! We'll do as Mr Qin says!" Chi Long responded.
"I will deal with the recruits myself! That way, Commander won't be tied down too much! Still, I hope that you'll provide us some support in the form of military equipment and the likes."
"That won't be a problem! Apologies for troubling you, Mr Qin!"
The discussion drew to an end with Qin Feng making the final decision instead of the Commander.
After dinner had ended, Qin Feng left the battle operation headquarters and arrived at a spot just outside the building to sell the loot he had gathered today.
They sparsely littered the ground and despite them looking like your average loot, they yielded Qin Feng a profit of over 20 million yuan.
Qin Feng's gains for today did not just end there. Chi Long also made sure to add his kills for today to his battle record, which allowed him to leap up the list of elite users. His achievements now topped that of the people who had arrived at Han Town a week prior.
After he was done with that, Qin Feng finally made his way back to Zhou Hao's team.
"Qin Feng, why did Commander Chi ask to see you?" Zhou Hao questioned.
While Chi Long was merely an insignificant character in Qin Feng's eyes, growing up in the colony of Chengbei, the strongest man, Mayor Zheng Yang was also just another E-tier user, not to mention the famous Deng Nian who also stood shoulder-to-shoulder with both of the aforementioned.
"We discussed clearing Han Town's streets. Instead of participating in tomorrow's operation, how about following me?"
It was better to keep the benefits to one's own people. Qin Feng knew this well and did not wish for his friends to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. While Zhou Hao and his team were not able to fight high-tier monsters alone, they possessed enough stamina to outrun these monsters.
"Okay!" Zhou Hao saw no issues with Qin Feng's proposition. Zhang Tianche and Zhao Yu also wanted in on Qin Feng's plan. Lu Meng, a member of their small team, was also blessed with the chance to participate in this mission.
And so, with the addition of Wang Chen and Bai Li, they had formed a six-man bait team.
Yet another noise-filled night passed. Come the next morning, prepared by Chi Long and waiting for them were a handful of hoverboards, a large truck and a buffed-up bus. This was the technical support which the Commander was able to offer to Qin Feng.
Standing outside the door of the battle operations room, Qin Feng issued his orders.
It did not take too long before a large group of ordinary civilians had gathered in front of Qin Feng.
From their perspective, Qin Feng was nothing but a walking money bag!
"Mr Qin! Pick me!"
"Pick me Mr Qin! I'm gonna die from starvation soon! I'm not planning to llive on any longer if you don't pick me!"
"Mr Qin! Mr Qiiiin!"
Qin Feng cleared his throat. Focusing internal strength into his voice, his orders boomed like the eruption of thunder.
"I want twenty ordinary civilians! I want those who I've pointed out to step forward! I don't want to hear your protests! Do you think I'm operating a charity?"
At that moment, the crowd stared silently at Qin Feng.
Qin Feng's eyes scanned the crowd like a predator.
"You! You! And you too!"
While the people who Qin Feng had selected appeared ragged, they were at the very least, physically fit. He paid no heed to their gender. Even if their mission was as simple as gathering loot, they would need to possess enough strength to haul supplies around, hence the importance of one's physical condition.
Qin Feng's eyes scanned the crowd the second time. Suddenly, his eyes stopped at the weak woman he had rescued the day before.
After only a day's time, this woman appeared to have recovered most of her strength. The only part reminiscent of her previous condition was her soulless thousand-yard stare.
"You! What's your name!?" Qin Feng boomed.
Chapter 171: Joint Victory
The woman was visibly stunned when Qin Feng called out to her. Realising that she was not mistakenly called, the woman quickly replied. "My name is Shang Xian!"
Qin Feng responded with a nod. Producing an energy blaster, he tossed it over to the woman.
"You will supervise them. You and your team will be responsible for clearing out supplies!"
Shang Xian was shocked by Qin Feng's decision but she nodded nonetheless.
"Understood!"
Skilfully, she wrapped her hands around the blaster's grip. Little by little, her posture changed upon receiving the weapon.
Satisfied, Qin Feng nodded his head.
No doubt, Shang Xian appeared as frail as a twig. From the perspective of an observer, Qin Feng's decision was basically a helping hand reaching out to her. So much for "not running a charity".
However, there was a perfectly rational reason behind Qin Feng's decision.
Shang Xian was someone whom Qin Feng had personally rescued from her imminent death. It followed that she would feel a sense of obligation out of pure gratitude toward him.
Such a person would in most cases, show extreme loyalty to Qin Feng and would definitely take her job seriously.
While Shang Xian was no aptitude user, her physique was not weak either. Her rapid recovery from the day before was the best testament to this.
After coming back to camp, Qin Feng made some enquiries and from there, he learnt that Shang Xian ran the store in which she was rescued. Her husband was an aptitude user from Han Town but it was likely that he had met his demise out in the streets.
Considering how depressing her current situation was, Shang Xian must have been a capable person to be able to push forward. At the very least, Qin Feng was sure that her management skills could be relied upon.
The ordinary civilians boarded the huge bus and one of the few who could drive was assigned to operate the vehicle.
There was another group of people, all aptitude users from Fengli colony led by Wang Chen. Their numbers were not something you would boast about, with ten or so team members. This group was the designated reserve team, dispatched in case of any emergencies to rescue frontline teams in distress.
These aptitude users too, boarded the bus. Now that everyone was on board, Qin Feng and Bai Li climbed onto the umbra stallion. They led the way and advanced swiftly into Han Town's Northern district.
After yesterday's massacre, coupled with the beast-repelling powder scattered all across the streets, this area was safer than it ever was. Fighting from this spot, there was at least guarantee that the people under Qin Feng would stay safe from any ambushes.
In the fallen Han Town, one night was all it took for the signs of insectoid activity to surface.
Standing in the middle of a wide street, Qin Feng waited patiently for the incoming battle.
Soon, the traces of a hoverboard could be seen hurtling toward him from afar.
Apart from that, in the narrow alleys that branched off of the main street, he could observe shadows dashing here and there–it was Zhou Hao and his men.
Behind them were at least thirty to forty hungry insectoids.
Hot on their tails, these insectoids reached out as far as they could, as if they were about to tear the people into hundreds of tasty morsels.
In order to enhance the effectiveness of their baiting tactic, Zhou Hao ordered his men to bring a piece of fresh meat with them. Though, it was not human flesh which the insectoids were so keen on having. Instead, it was a giant field rat they had just hunted earlier this morning.
The smell of fresh blood caught the attention of these insectoids just as they had planned. Unbeknownst to these buggy critters, they were heading straight into a hellish trap.
Zhou Hao and his team arrived beside Qin Feng, whose position was already encircled by a sea of insectoids.
Without hesitation, Qin Feng unleashed his attack.
"Hellfire Carpet!"
Like a carpet, the ground was covered by a layer of fire, turning the sea of insectoids into a sea of flames.
The frontmost insectoid hurled itself at Qin Feng, thinking that it was about to bring down the mastermind of their demise.
"Asteroid Assimilation!"
"Repulsion!"
Qin Feng's Asteroid Assimilation created a force field around them, sending the surrounding insectoids flying back where they came from.
Then, countless deadly fragments came raining down, which Zhou Hao and his men shielded the rest of the team against. Lu Meng's accurate rifle fire also proved to be an incredibly useful asset out on the battlefield.
Hundreds of these insectoids were wiped out within the first few minutes. Some stragglers left around ground zero attempted to escape but were hunted down and finished off by Wang Chen, Bai Li and the other aptitude users.
"The clearing process is complete. Let the ones from the back come over!"
Qin Feng spoke into his communicator.
"Yes, Mr Qin!" Shang Xian replied briefly. Right after that, one of the vehicles was driven into the freshly-cleared street.
"You guys go rescue the trapped ones!" Qin Feng ordered.
Wang Chen, as well as the aptitude users from Fengli colony all looked at Qin Feng with admiration.
They were awed by Qin Feng's power. Upon witnessing the battle, they had nothing but respect for the man.
If they were to follow him as the leader of their colony, their glory in the future was pretty much guaranteed.
While Qin Feng offered them a hundred thousand yuan as an initial fee for the mission, there were still going to be rewards from rescuing survivors as well as finishing off the occasional straggler or two. That was more than enough to fill up their pockets.
A good analogy for this was Qin Feng having steak while they drank nothing but soup. Even so, this soup was already more than they could ever ask for.
In fact, they felt that the mission that was currently being conducted was not even something that an E-tier aptitude user could handle.
Using this tactic, it was not even half an hour before they had cleared up a main road as well as the surrounding buildings and connected streets.
At this rate, it would only take them at most, another three to four days before the Northern district of Han Town could be declared safe.
In just a day's time, Qin Feng and his team managed to clear eighty five streets and at least five small community pockets.
One should keep in mind that this was no longer the outskirts of Han Town; this was the heart of the insectoid territory. Their speed was on par, if not, faster than a three to four hundred man clearing team.
Before night fell, Qin Feng's clearing mission had reached its final stage.
"We don't need to return to the provisional camp for tonight. Look for a hotel to hole up in. Blow a whistle when you find a suitable one. After all, this entire place's been cleared!"
Even though Han Town had fallen into the insectoids' hands for more than ten days, living here was much more comfortable than the dreaded provisional colony!
"Oh God! This feels like heaven! I don't think I can return to my hardwood bed back at the camp!" Lu Meng exclaimed.
Even the ordinary civilians who participated in today's mission agreed to stay in the town.
It took just a single day for them to build this level of trust toward Qin Feng.
So what if Han Town had fallen? It would not be long before the day they would recapture their home.
In the team, only Wang Chen was tasked with selling the materials they had gathered earlier today back at the camp. Though, special-grade materials like beast general items were left with the team instead of being sold off. These would, in the future, be stored into Fengli colony's inventory.
In the ten or more days to come, Qin Feng and his team remained within the interiors of Han Town. Receiving a constant inflow of aptitude users as reinforcement from the headquarters, they managed to turn the tide of war in a relatively short amount of time.
Together with his team, Qin Feng managed to liberate both the Northern district as well as a majority of the Western district.
They had also freed up the Central district where the density of insectoids was the highest.
This territory used to be occupied by a fertile Steel-limb Broodmother, hence the blacksteel ants were nowhere to be found. Now that there were no queen-tier monsters around this place, this area posed little to no threat to the group as Qin Feng wiped it clean.
Instead, it was the anthill of the Eastern district that was a brewing disaster.
On this day, the countdown for the liberation of Han Town had started!
Buzz!
A blinding ray of silver was released as the space stabilising device rose into the air, patching up the spatial rift in a matter of seconds.
The crack hanging in the sky above Han Town had finally gone away!
Everyone around wore a big satisfied smile regardless of whether they were the residents of Han Town or volunteering aptitude users.
The liberation of Han Town had entered its final phase.
The only one with knitted brows then, was the Commander, Chi Long.
On the second day, Chi Long made his announcement. According to his plan, WMDs* were to be used to completely annihilate the anthill.
This implied that after the campaign, Han Town would have a large piece of land which was unusable for hundreds of generations to come!
In the areas surrounding the anthill, a colossal ring was made with beast-repelling powder, accompanied by a team of sappers building fortifications.
"Hurry up!"
The aptitude users urged. There were at least a thousand ordinary civilians, all shouldering sandbags that were used to completely encircle the anthill. The diameter of this fortified ring was a whole three hundred meters across.
In spots where buildings were present, these buildings were integrated into the ring. Where no buildings were present, they built a primitive but sturdy wall using whatever scraps they managed to find.
Aptitude users who possessed earth, metal and wood-based abilities all came in to help reinforce the protective circle too.
Chapter 172: Encircle and Annihilate the Anthill
Two days later, the wall surrounding the anthill was finally completed. Today, the anthill was still calm, but nobody really knew what would happen next!
"Pour energy liquid!"
"Prepare the isolation web!"
"Ordinary civilians retreat!"
"Gunners, ability users, get ready!"
"Await the signal!"
One command came after the other.
Qin Feng and Bai Li stood on top of a large tower and looked down at the anthill below. It appeared as if the anthill had been placed inside a large bowl.
Beside them stood Chi Long, straight like a pole, and in front of him was a huge crystal energy cannon, emitting a dim blue glow under the sunlight. However, the most dazzling thing was not the huge fortress machine, but the bombshell propped up next to it.
The shell projected a silvery halo in the sunlight, with a missile more than two meters high and thirty centimeters in diameter. The weapon was made using a beast king energy crystal. Though it was not made completely out of one single energy crystal core, but one core that had been split to produce several bombshells, it was still extremely extravagant.
The E-tier beast king crystal core was worth at least 300 million.
"Hey, I'm not sure if this is a loss or a gain at this time. I'm only left with this baby over here," Chi Long said with a dejected huff.
"There will always be gains!" Qin Feng said.
"You're not wrong, dragging this on isn't good for anyone. Best to pick up the pace!" Chi Long smiled.
Thanks to Qin Feng's aid, Han Town had recovered very quickly. Once the anthill was dealt with then Chi long would definitely receive a reward from the higher ups, maybe something even better than the shell.
Thinking of this, Chi Long made up his mind and placed the shell inside the giant gun, aimed it toward the anthill and injected his consciousness into the entire shell.
"Fire!"
In the next moment, Chi Long pulled the trigger and the shell flew out into the sky. He maintained his previous posture, his consciousness was like a whirlwind, the surplus power coming from it was breathtaking.
The shell reached high up, three hundred meters into the sky as it reached its apex before moving like its directions had suddenly been reversed, plummeting toward the ground!
It was getting faster and faster! Not only that, the warhead of the shell began to spin quickly. The force of the rotation made this shell like an excavator, rapidly falling and drilling into the land below.
This design was used against the gargantuan ultra behemoths, you could drill into their hides or scales and detonate the shell inside to cause even greater damage.
The defense of the gravel hill was nothing like the outer hides of ultra behemoths! The shell penetrated twenty meters into the ground in the blink of an eye!
Qin Feng's consciousness followed this artillery shell and explored downward, getting shocked by the number of ants inside the anthill.
Thirty meters! Forty meters!
This distance was strenuous for Chi Long! It still had not reached the bottom of the nest. This made Chi Long's face drain of all its color, it seemed like the day's affairs would not be resolved so smoothly.
He gritted his teeth, and Chi Long suddenly mobilized his spirit!
"Burst!"
What came next was a loud explosion, and after that the earth roared.
Boom!
The huge vibration came from the center of the large bowl, spreading outward like a wave.
People who had been evacuated to a distance of thousands of kilometers away were knocked off their feet. Even the ordinary people who were several more kilometers away felt the effects and were knocked to the ground.
It was like an earthquake.
This kind of power was too great!
Not only that, the surrounding buildings suddenly collapsed in a chain reaction. The hills in the big bowl were filled with smoke. As the huge wave was sent out, all of the affected creatures were smashed into pieces in an instant.
This attack, from what it looked like, must have killed tens of thousands of normal ants and even injured their queen
Dust that rolled out made it impossible for people to see clearly.
"The northern defensive position has collapsed, head over there now!"
"Wind ability users activate your powers!"
"Water ability users, rainfall! Extinguish the smoke!"
"Hurry and find better terrain!"
The aptitude users in command shouted out their respective orders.
The building that Qin Feng and the others were on were also within the effects of the vibration but there were very few people on it and they were all strong. They could use their internal force or consciousness to activate Void Hop in order to evade the shaking on the ground.
Qin Feng and Bai Li sat steadily on the umbra stallion, feeling the water and wind ability users disperse the surrounding dust, but Qin Feng's consciousness had not left the big bowl-like encirclement.
"We're heading off, Commander Chi!" Qin Feng said, looking serious.
Chi Long used a lot of his energy to control the weapon and he was bad when it came to melee combat, so he nodded. "Be careful!"
"Okay!" Qin Feng responded, urging the umbra stallion, and with a few jumps landed on the high fortifications below.
Once the dust in the large bowl had been settled, it looked like the anthill had been blasted into a flat land. Due to the crushing destructive force, it had become an almost desert-like sandy beach. Each piece of gravel seemed to have been crystalized and were emitting a transparent light*. Under the sun, the scene looked magnificent.
It was very beautiful!
This beauty was soon broken.
A patch of gravel sank downward, and a large hole soon appeared. Then came a scratching sound as a large blacksteel ant crawled out of the hole.
It was as if a signal was sent out as dozens of holes began to open up on the golden beach. Then, a dense wave of blacksteel ants crawled out, quickly gathering like a dark carpet.
This carpet was extremely angry and wanted to rip everything in its path into shreds.
"Kill them!"
"Don't let them over the wall!"
"Fight! Fight fiercely!"
People roared out, knocking the ants that had reached the top of the fortifications back down into the incoming mass, but the blacksteel ants were like a tidal wave, it was like they were going to flood the place.
It was terrifying!
People could afford little courage in the face of this number of insects.
"Hellfire Carpet!"
Qin Feng's consciousness was mobilized and his power erupted, falling to the edge of the big bowl. The edge of the bowl was covered with energy fluid, the moment Qin Feng's flames landed the fluid ignited and a wave of heat broke out along the edge of the bowl, sweeping through the ranks of the insectoids.
Bzzzt!
The flames roasted the insectoids, causing them to produce a sharp, meaty sounding pop.
After Qin Feng took action, the other fire ability users also followed suit, launching fireballs to ignite the edge. The spots that were not ignited before were set ablaze by gunners blasting energy liquid barrels at it.
The raging fire surrounded the insectoids completely, making it difficult for them to escape.
Chapter 173: The Golden Queen Ant
However, the number of the ants was way too much!
One by one, the carcasses were replaced by new ant beasts that used the fallen ones as stepping stones to pile higher. Except for Qin Feng's side, the insects had begun to cross the ring of fire!
"Why! Why are there so many of them?"
"This is terrible!"
"No! Get away from me! Damn bugs!"
The people cried out while the ancient warriors rushed out to engage the incoming insectoids, opting to hold the tide of insectoids back with their own bodies.
"Hellfire Carpet!" Qin Feng launched his hellfire at the gravel, covering the bottom of the bowl of fortification which would kill additional blacksteel ants as they crawled out of the holes, greatly reducing the pressure everyone had on the surface.
This method seemed to solve everyone's immediate need. Soon, firearms opened up and came down like a pouring rainstorm, every aptitude user sent out their strongest attack at the anthill.
Ratatatatata!
Bang bang bang!
Ka-boom!
It was non-stop slaughtering, everyone's field of vision was filled with the grim visage of the blacksteel ants.
At this time, from the gravel shrouded by hellfire, a huge hole appeared at the centermost point! The cave was two meters wide and in the next moment a bright golden light emerged. Not only that, on this ant's back were a pair of dragonfly wings as thin as a cicada's that quickly spread open in the air.
The creature was more than two meters wide and four meters long. Although it was much smaller than the Steel-limb Broodmother, for human beings, this terrible thing was the size of a truck.
"Golden Queen Ant!"
Although the previous data showed that the ant's nest had been advancing very quickly and it would have been very likely that a beast king tier queen ant would have been spawned, it was still shocking to see its emergence.
It was at least an F5-tier Golden Queen Ant, not to mention, it also had a very scary ability. It could fly!
As if it had realized the situation outside, the Golden Queen Ant flew out, slamming its truck-sized body forward and knocking over those standing on the fortifications.
"Argh!"
One aptitude user cried out in horror as they tripped over and fell off the fortifications, into the bowl.
At this time the inside of the bowl was not just on fire, but it was also packed with a seemingly endless number of blacksteel ants. Almost instantly the black wave converged on their point of interest and what could be briefly seen was stripped to the bones.
Then, in the blink of an eye, even the bones were gone!
It was at that moment that everyone near the former aptitude user retreated in a panic! The firepower coming from that direction weakened significantly and a group of blacksteel ants charged forward, following the footsteps of their queen.
"Don't let them get away!" Shi Tianhai roared and he rushed forward, the weapon in his hand slamming hard against the body of the Golden Queen Ant.
Clang!
There was the sound of metal impacting against one another, but there was no trace of damage on the queen's body. The queen looked sideways at Shi Tianhai and stretched out a thick insect leg, kicking at Shi Tianhai's body.
Boom!
It was like kicking a pebble away. Shi Tianhai was sent flying a long distance away.
"Puh!" He spat out blood as he crashed, fortunately he crashed outside otherwise he would have turned out like the previous aptitude user that fell into the bowl.
Then, a roaring sound broke through the skies as a yellow, shrieking shell soared over and crashed directly into the queen's body.
Boom!
The huge shell exploded, the powerful force knocked the Golden Queen Ant over the fortifications.
"Skreee!"
Rolling through the smoke, the Queen let out an angry screech before flapping her wings like how a fly would and buzzed at high speed toward one of the tall buildings.
The one who attacked her was the E-tier Gunner, Chi Long!
Chi Long stayed calm, unleashing another volley of gunfire at the queen and managed to knock the queen down. The queen was very fast, in just the blink of an eye she was already very close to him. Chi Long frowned, quickly hopping off the building as his gilding wings opened up behind him.
His speed was obviously not as fast as the queen's.
Buzzzz!
Three cannonballs shot out to intercept, forcing the queen into a retreat!
Chi Long dropped to the ground, controlling his consciousness as small metal balls appeared one after another, surrounding him. These balls either flew in the air or fell to the ground as Chi Long rushed forward.
The Golden Queen Ant gave chase, directly crashing into the small ball and in the next moment it was like plunging your hand into an angry hornet's nest. The small ball exploded, and dense purple flashes of light enveloped the queen.
Plasma Ball!
The Queen was shocked with so much electricity that its body began to convulse uncontrollably!
Undoubtedly, Chi Long was powerful, and his combat ability was not weak. However, at this time, he was facing off a Golden Queen Ant with extremely high vitality!
Seeing Qin Feng take on a beast general earlier, Chi Long evaluated that it would take himself about half an hour to take out an F-tier beast general with his own strength.
And now he was facing down a beast king.
Chi Long estimated that he only had approximately ten minutes and realized that he was not going to be able to help himself. His consciousness was about to dry up and he had used up half of his spatial rune equipment.
He definitely could not go on like this!
At this time, a figure suddenly appeared in front of Chi Long. It was a young girl in a white dress. If it were not for the silver light emanating from the white dress, many people would have thought that the girl was insane.
Such a costume in the battlefield was a death wish! Yet nobody would dare question the girl, on her chest she carried an F-tier aptitude user badge.
Chi Long was a little surprised when he saw the girl arrive but he did not gain much hope from it.
"Miss Bai, be careful! Just impede it for a bit!" Chi Long called out, he planned to place down another machine, but the assembly would take time.
He was hoping that Bai Li would buy him some time.
However, he would find his heart almost leaping to his throat very soon. Bai Li did not try to evade or hide, she was just watching the queen rush toward her.
"Move!" Chi Long roared, starting to feel a little bit frustrated.
If it could not be blocked, then hide, standing still was just asking for trouble!
Just as Chi Long was about to rush forward to save Bai Li, he saw that just as the Golden Queen Ant's truck-sized body had just about reached his side, Bai Li had already thrown a punch toward it.
Bai Li's hands were pink, delicate looking and she had extremely slender wrists but it was this appearance that gave people a shocking image.
Crack!
A crack appeared on the queen's head. That was the strongest part of the Golden Queen Ant's body and could break through large hills. It was prime material. Yet, under Bai Li's punch, it got fractured.
Not only that, the force of the punch blew the queen outward and toward a building!
Boom!
The queen burst through the other side of the building before it started scrambling away!
From its frantic escape, it was clearly a full on retreat!
Chapter 174: Bai Li Attacks!
"Trying to escape?" Bai Li let out a tinkling laugh. High heels lightly tapping on the ground, her whole body moved faster than the Golden Queen Ant did, almost instantly catching up with her fleeing target.
Meanwhile, Chi Long, who stayed in place, swallowed hard on his own saliva as he suspected that there was something wrong with his eyes.
When he looked at Bai Li again, that feeling of dread could not be hidden!
Bai Li was absolutely terrifying!
"Commander Chi, are you alright?" Qin Feng's voice crackled from the communicator. Since the previous battle, the higher rank communicators had been connected using the regional network!
"Well, I'm fine… that… your girlfriend, that Bai girl! She saved me!" Chi Long's words were obviously laced with hesitation. He really did not expect that Bai Li would be so powerful.
Qin Feng had long expected this. If Bai Li could not handle the Golden Queen Ant then that would have been the joke of the day! She was an E-tier beast king, stronger than the Golden Queen Ant!
"Have Bai Li handle it. Commander Chi, if you're still in good condition then come over to support us at the anthill. There are too many of them and we are taking heavy losses!"
"Okay! I'll head back immediately!"
"Alright!"
Qin Feng looked at the battle in front of him. After the queen left, the blacksteel ants all wanted to keep up. Some of the beast generals that had the ability to fly naturally also flew out.
The people besieging the place did not all have F-tier capabilities. Under the oppressing dark tide of the blacksteel ants, G-tier aptitude users were no more than paste. One hit would have sent them flying with broken bones and littering viscera.
The interception at this time really was handled by the flesh and blood from the bodies, using the sheer number of people to combat the swarm.
Qin Feng struck the intersection, continuously releasing Hellfire Carpet and slashing at the occasional beast general with the Verdant Emperor Saber, but there was still no way to make up for the losses.
Fortunately, Chi Long had finally arrived.
Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!
A bunch of crimson cannonballs was launched, exploding into a blaze of flames as it impacted the ground, and the surrounding temperature raised significantly.
Incineration burst shots!
Enveloped in flames, the blacksteel ants were quickly charred into ashes. This was an E-tier gunner attack, it was like using a cannon to fight mosquitoes.
Of course, after this battle, Chi Long definitely would not be able to recover from the cost of those!
Qin Feng's abilities came one after the other. From the beginning, he had not stopped for a few hours. The other aptitude users of G to F tiers could not maintain their consciousnesses and had retreated to a safe place or started taking turns to continue the flow of battle!
They saw the way Qin Feng fought and only wanted to say that it was not something normal people did. This kind of fighting power was what an evildoer would have!
The insectoids that Qin Feng killed became more and more and he felt that his strength was getting stronger and stronger. In the previous days of cleansing, Qin Feng's physical strength had already reached F9-tier. Now, as the blacksteel ants were being slain, his body was getting more and more powerful, even his bones felt like they were getting tougher.
He did not know just how many blacksteel ants inside the fortifications were killed.
The ants that Chi Long's bombardment killed off were not absorbed by Qin Feng's absorption ability, but the ones that came later, even if they were not killed by him, had their energy flown into Qin Feng.
It was like a large invisible mouth constantly slurping up surrounding energies and strengthening Qin Feng. With so much energy gathering, Qin Feng felt his body tremble.
This trembling formed into a powerful wave, it was a kind of dangerous aura.
People called this kind of aura prestigious pressure!
Under this kind of prestigious pressure, the nearby aptitude users looked at Qin Feng with shocked expressions on their faces, they could not even breathe. Their bodies were doubled over in a seemingly state of worship.
"E tier!"
"Mr Qin advanced into E-tier!"
"Is this… is this the difference between a genius and an ordinary person?"
Combat was indeed the best and strongest motivator. Many people had found that after an insane battle, they were more powerful. Whether it was cultivation or physical strength, they would have gotten stronger.
In such a situation, people would call it mortality comprehension.
It was said that in constant battle, the bodies of those who had awakened would secrete a special enzyme to strengthen itself. Still, a breakthrough in the midst of a battle was rare.
Those who saw the blacksteel ants surrounding Qin Feng felt that this was no coincidence! He had worked hard enough and slain plenty. Qin Feng's powers were the return after giving so much.
Qin Feng felt the power surge through his body and could not help but smile. He finally reached E tier!
At this time, the blacksteel ants on the battlefield had begun to thin out, combined with the E-tier gunner, Chi Long, the clean up was even faster. However, now when an F-tier blacksteel ant dies, the energy integrated into Qin Feng's body becomes weaker.
It was not the energy that was weak, Qin Feng now needed to strengthen his body in order to increase his capacity, to make it larger!
After reaching E tier, the process would become longer before the next breakthrough. Some people would not even be able to reach D tier within their lifetime.
In Chengbei colony, there were only a small handful of people that had managed to reach D tier, and due to resource constraints, the amount of time they spent in order to reach that tier was terrifying!
Ten years!
Therefore, E-tier aptitude users usually became the upper class of a colony, not only due to their strength but also because the path to promotion was very difficult which led them to focus on other directions in order to obtain tier-up resources.
The aptitude user that had reached D-tier within ten years was also once in Chengbei colony, he served as its mayor for eight years before leaving the colony!
However, Qin Feng might break the record in the future. After all, his tier-ups were unlike everyone else's!
It seemed as if the situation was slowly coming under control, but there was a loud rumbling sound in the distance. A huge golden-shaped figure crashed onto the streets, it was so big but those watching felt like they were looking at a broken doll!
When everyone saw the huge figure, they were all unconsciously trembling, terrified as they wanted to run away from the scene. Only, the second glance told them that the entity was dying!
The Golden Queen Ant's body was battle scarred, the golden ant shell was covered in cracks and even some snowy-white ant meat was exposed. It looked appetizing, like a cooked crab with its flesh seen under its cracked shell.[1]
Bai Li, wearing her high heels and white dress, casually walked up beside the queen, but the queen's eyes reflected horror. In the next moment, the queen bowed its head, crawling in front of Bai Li as if asking for mercy.
Those who saw the scene could not believe their eyes. They had no idea what just happened, but now the situation was crystal clear.
The Golden Queen Ant was actually defeated by Bai Li.[2]
In Bai Li's hands were a pair of dragonfly-like wings, three meters long and three meters wide. Those used to be the wings on the Golden Queen Ant's back.
[1] Not sure how an ant is appetizing, I'm adding this in as addition description.
[2] Well that is what we trope-knowers call a 'Offscreen Badass Moment' Real talk. I wish the chapter focused on Bai Li more.
Chapter 175: I'll Buy This beast king!
"Nice! I can make this into a gold-colored skirt!"
Bai Li nodded with satisfaction. The thought of a golden gauze skirt did sound very appealing. She set her eyes on the Golden Queen Ant, no longer regarding the other as a beast king but fabric waiting to be cut at any time.
"Bai Li!" Qin Feng yelled, making Bai Li stop as she stepped forward.
"Don't kill it!" He urged.
"Oh! Okay!" Bai Li remembered that Qin Feng had to absorb energy every time. With this thought, she stayed her hand, instead she reached out to grab the Golden Queen Ant with both her hands by the antennae, dragging it in front of Qin Feng.
Boom!
The Queen landed on a defensive layer made out of a pile of sandbags, kicking up a cloud of dust. Bai Li then asked, "Can I kill it now?"
Qin Feng quickly stopped Bai Li and used his consciousness to examine the Golden Queen Ant's body.
At this time, the Golden Queen Ant was covered in wounds, its consciousness was blurry and extremely weak. The aura it exuded gave off the idea of surrender.
This was a rare situation. Most ultra beasts would rather fight to the death than surrender.
Now, the object that the Golden Queen Ant submitted to was not human, it was instead a three-tailed white fox, E-tier beast king Bai Li.
However, no matter who it submitted to, whatever the next matter was, it would not be up for the Golden Queen Ant to decide!
"Zhou Hao!" Qin Feng loudly called out.
"What is it? Madman!" Zhou Hao's body was bloodied from the fighting in Han Town and experiencing multiple life and death situations. Due to that his tier-ups had been quick as well, and he had now reached the tier of G8 as an ancient warrior.
After all, Zhou Hao was not short on resources right now and his talent was also powerful, so his progress would be faster than the rest. While it was not comparable to the villainous amount that Qin Feng had, Zhou Hao was a Talent-class individual.
"What's your consciousness level?" Qin Feng asked.
Since Zhou Hao had eaten the conscious fruit, he would have more to spare even after using firearms. He could even snatch objects from a distance!
Of course, without special training, Qin Feng could not be certain of the exact details.
"Probably G5-tier as a gunner!" Zhou Hao was not sure himself.
"That should be enough!" Qin Feng nodded and took out some energy crystals, quickly drawing up a consciousness contract on the ground.
This contract was drawn to bind Zhou Hao and the Golden Queen Ant.
"Drop some blood on it, this queen will be your contract beast!" Qin Feng said.
Zhou Hao's eyes widened when he heard Qin Feng's words and could not believe his ears. How could Zhou Hao not know how powerful the Golden Queen Ant was? He only needed a drop of his blood and it would become his own.
"Hurry up!" Qin Feng said.
Zhou Hao did not hesitate, drawing his dagger, he brought the edge to his palm. Blood flowed freely but he showed no fear. He climbed atop the Golden Queen Ant's body and dropped onto the top of its head, letting the blood meander down the sides of its head.
In the next moment, the blood seeped into the Golden Queen Ant's body. Zhou Hao could feel that at the bottom of his soul, another being's consciousness had appeared.
This was the consciousness of the Golden Queen Ant.
"Hahaha! I also have a beast king pet now! I'll call you Xiao Huang in the future!" Zhou Hao wanted to lovingly pat the Golden Queen Ant's shell but it was riveted in cracks caused by Bai Li. That made his heart ache!
Chi Long was on the sidelines when he saw this scene, by the time he rushed over it was too late!
"Hey. Mr Qin. Things are not supposed to be done this way!"
Although the queen was defeated by Bai Li, Chi Long had also attacked it before. The most important thing was that a beast king pet made people green with envy.
"I'll buy this beast king," Qin Feng said. "How's three hundred million?"
Chi Long took a deep breath, this was not just about the beast king.
For a dead beast king, three hundred million far exceeded Chi Long's expectations, but a living beast king that could be made a contract with, the value was too great!
This was like a hen that laid golden eggs!
With this beast king, if it were raised well, it could be used to kill even more beast kings in the future!
"Mr Qin…" Chi Long started.
Bai Li's eyes fell onto Chi Long and she said, "I decided to save you just now. That's strange, I saved you and now you're demanding money from my hubby. How could you be so unreasonable? I should have just fed you to the giant ant!"
A chill went down Chi Long's spine as he remembered the scene where Bai Li's attack had cracked and fractured the queen's skull.
"No! I didn't say that!" He wasn't very clear about Qin Feng's strength, but Bai Li's strength? He saw it for himself.
This girl was truly a secretive and reserved person!
"My wife is right. In this battle, she used a lot of her strength. Of the three hundred million, I can only give thirty million to you, Commander Chi!"
In the next moment, Qin Feng had already transferred thirty million over to Chi Long. When he received the money, he only had the desire to cry tearlessly.
Thirty million was not enough to cover the costs of the ammo he had spent! Yet, with Bai Li covetously eyeing him, and Qin Feng making sense, Chi Long could only swallow the words he wanted to say.
If you might lose your life for petty benefits, then it was not worth the loss!
"Hey, Mr Qin. I hope we can work together again in the future!" Chi Long said.
"Naturally!" Qin Feng said with a smile, nodding. Chi Long could only grit his teeth and stomach the situation.
Afterwards, in the final sweep of the battle, nobody let Qin Feng participate. After all, Qin Feng's status was on a different level now!
E-tier aptitude user. Now, he was on the same level as Chi Long, people were awed by him.
The battlefield was quickly cleared, with drones recording the day of the battle. Everyone's battles would have been counted.
According to the battle statistics, there were twenty thousand blacksteel ants that were not killed by Chi Long's bombardment, which was much higher than what people expected.
Qin Feng alone slaughtered ten thousand blacksteel ants, and most of them were beast generals. The materials from the beast generals that were killed by Qin Feng were taken away by Wang Chen. Qin Feng did not intend to sell the materials and instead directed Wang Chen to take them back to Fengli Colony.
Chi Long's results were equally amazing, slaughtering forty thousand more in the matter of seconds and then shooting down five thousand more with a total value of seven hundred million yuan. However, counting the energy shells that were used up, Chi Long only had a net profit of five hundred million yuan.
With only this much money, he could only use them to invest in a new batch of ammunition!
Even if he did not make a whole lot of money, he did accumulate a lot of points. Four hundred and thirty thousand points!
This was a gunner's strong suit when it came to getting money.
"Mr Qin, your points have also been calculated and you earned three hundred and ninety thousand points. You've made a huge contribution in Han Town, why don't you come with me to Fu City and check out the Fu City depot?"
Chapter 176: Jade Cuirass
After the mention of 'Fu City depot' by the other party, several images quickly flashed through his mind.
A strong consciousness allowed Qin Feng to clearly recall images from before his rebirth.
"Have you heard? The rift treasures that the Red Sun Group has been looking for were stolen long ago!"
"Yeah, it's said that the treasure that they're looking for has been spread out!"
"I've found one already, it's a jade cuirass that fell into a depot in Fu City. Nobody wanted it for many years and as a result, it's now been discovered. The Red Sun Corp is gonna put pressure on the owner of Fu City!"
"The Red Sun Corp has a number of strong A-tier directors, the owner of Fu City wouldn't be able to resist!"
"Who knows, the owner of Fu City has their own backers, we'll see who's stronger!"
"The owner definitely wouldn't stand a chance."
The mental image gradually blurred, and the visual angle began to shift. At that time, Qin Feng was merely a passerby who overheard this particular conversation!
"Hoo!" Qin Feng took a deep breath and furrowed his brow, the consumption of his consciousness was obviously too large.
This memory was just a passing scene before Qin Feng's rebirth. If it were not for Qin Feng reaching the SS tier of his consciousness potential, he would not even remember such a scene.
He did know that this jade cuirass was definitely something useful. Of course, something that's useful naturally needs to be his own.
"Alright, with Commander Chi with me, it would be great to see the warehouse in Fu City!"
Chi Long let out a guffaw, "The battle's over, commander or no commander, you can just call me Chi Long."
Chi Long was not as young as Qin Feng was, and since Qin Feng was a teenager, he ought to just call Chi Long 'Bro'.
However, Chi Long would not have dared to do that because Qin Feng's potential was great, maybe he would even become a D-tier ability user in the future. Not to mention, now that he was an E-tier, Qin Feng being an ability user stood at a higher point than Chi Long who was a gunner.
Qin Feng nodded. "Respecting someone isn't the same as just obeying orders, you can call me by my name in the future. Calling me Mr Qin after fighting side by side would seem very strange!"
"Haha, good, good! Qin Feng, let's clean this up first and we'll go together in a while!"
"Alright!"
Both of them needed some time to sort things out, Qin Feng ordered Wang Chen to go back to the transport. After all, the goods being transported this time were worth about three million to four million.
Fortunately, Zhou Hao was with the team. Even if the Golden Ant Queen was beaten down and very injured, it was still a deterring force. All it needed was a few days of good rest.
As for the ordinary civilians who fought alongside Qin Feng for more than ten days, after asking about their future plans Qin Feng learned that they wanted to return to Fengli colony with him. Qin Feng had even taken the initiative to host a group of refugees.
After all, Fengli colony was originally short on people but now nothing was lacking!
After a day of rest, the groups of people gradually evacuated. Qin Feng and Chi Long took a luxury hover train toward Fu City.
Han Town was a six hour drive away from Fu City, it was no wonder nobody loved it. If they were using an ordinary car it would have taken a day and a night!
Transportation was inconvenient, the wilderness was full of dangers, which was the reason why the small town never expanded very far.
Soon, a huge city wall caught Qin Feng's eyes. They had arrived at Fu City!
The terrain of Fu City had high altitudes, it seemed to be almost built into the sides of the surrounding mountain. There were hills, water and natural terrain to defend against enemies. It really did seem like a blessed place.
Its safety factor was one level higher than Chengyang City's, the leadership of the city was all D-tier. The mayor was a D7 ancient warrior with incredible strength.
Of course, it was impossible for such a person to ever meet Qin Feng.
Chi Long quickly completed a task, Chengyang City would naturally commend him with an award and they even held a celebration feast that Qin Feng and Bai Li did not attend. Although they were heroes of the battle, they were not under any obligation to help and were not Fu City's people. The gratitude of Fu City came in the form of Qin Feng's reward.
The next day, Qin Feng saw Chi Long with a smiling face appearing at the door of the hotel.
"Looking at you, it feels like something good has happened!" Qin Feng teased.
"It's a good thing for you too!" Chi Long said, taking out two small boxes and handing them to Qin Feng. "This was specifically approved by our generals, and we also have the special privilege to enter the third-level treasure vault. Lets go after we get some food!"
Qin Feng opened the small box and saw that it was actually an E-tier aptitude user badge.
The certification method for E-tier badges also required the users to enter the aptitude user certification hall, but regardless of Fu City or Chengyang it was impossible for the certification to take place as there were no E-tier ultra beasts nearby.
If there were such beasts at such a high level, and in large numbers, then Fu City and Chengyang probably would not be standing at this point.
Moreover, in these two cities, there were not many people capable of becoming E-tier aptitude users. Perhaps one every three to five years. They would have their own approval rights and reached E-tier through a special accumulated combat effort.
Just like Qin Feng right now.
"This really saves us some trouble, thank you!" Qin Feng nodded with satisfaction and called over Bai Li to put the medal on her. Bai Li did the same in return, the two seemed intimate and the other person present found the scene adorable.
While the three were eating breakfast, the other guests gave them a passing glance and did not dare make too much noise. Even if they find Bai Li beautiful, they would not approach.
This was power and it intimidates people.
After breakfast, Chi Long took Qin Feng to the Fu City military base. The base was built out of a hollowed out mountain, reinforced with concrete on the inside and was sealed airtight. The reinforcements seemed to have been made by Earth-based ability users.
Passing through the layers of defenses, they finally reached the Fu City treasure vault.
"The first level here has some G-tier beast-general, beast-king armors containing maybe internal power, ability powers, consciousness enhancements and whatnot. Pick what you like!" Chi Long said off-handedly.
While he sounded casual about it, everything here had different costs in terms of points. The beast general ones would probably be thousands to tens of thousands and the beast king ones would cost even more points.
Qin Feng naturally would not waste his points on useless things. He had a strong perception, after expanding his consciousness, he did not find anything useful so he shook his head and showed no interest.
Chi Long seemed to have thought so as well, taking Qin Feng onto the next floor which contained more dazzling displays with an even more expensive cost as it was all F-tier items.
Qin Feng gave a sweeping glance and his eyes stopped on one of the jade capes.
It was no mistake, it looked like a triangular lady's cape or shawl, evident by the way that it was placed. The jade was as thin as a cicada's wings, but delicate like wool, the overall appearance made it look white and beautiful.
Perhaps that was what he was looking for!
Then again, the people he remembered mentioned a jade cuirass, not a jade cape.
"Let's look around elsewhere!" Qin Feng said since they had not reached the third level yet.
Just as he was about to leave, the single piece of white jade at the bottom of the jade cape began to radiate a ray of light, giving out some sort of a strange pattern.
Chapter 177: Godwill Atlas
Qin Feng was intrigued.
"Xiao Bai, did you notice the glimmer on the cape?" Qin Feng secretly asked Bai Li through his conscious energy.
"Glimmer? I don't see anything," Bai Li answered while staring puzzlingly at the cape.
But in Qin Feng's eyes, the glow on the cape gleamed stronger and stronger.
"Xiao Bai, tell them you want this cape!"
Bai Li did kill the final beast king and had contributed substantially throughout the process. She might not be at Qin Feng's level but somehow still managed to collect a total of eighty thousand points.
Though she did not understand why Qin Feng had asked her to do so, she obeyed and said, "Hubby, this looks great. Can I have it?"
Qin Feng secretly gave her a thumbs up for her flawless acting. He replied calmly, "If you really like it, then just go ahead. Do you have enough points? If not, I will cover the extra."
Bai Li used her communicator to scan the item and its details immediately appeared on the screen. The cape was a special training gear. It would slightly elevate the user's consciousness once worn. However, it was overlooked since this item was not designed for battle while disassembling it would be too wasteful. That was why the cape had been deserted in the cabinet.
The price tag on it was sixty five thousand points.
"I have enough." Bai Li confirmed the purchase and gained the cape. The glass door of the cabinet opened automatically and Bai Li retrieved the cape, putting it into her own spatial rune.
Qin Feng's pulse rate heightened. He was excited about claiming the extraordinary object.
Chi Long was unaware of their exchange and thought that Bai Li had just randomly chosen an unusable item out of impulse.
"Let's go to the third level," Qin Feng suggested.
"The good stuff is in Level 3, trust me." Chi Long smiled and led the way.
The third level was a larger space but had fewer items.
Though there were several D-tiers among the high-ranked officers in the City of Fu, the majority of the fighting force was still made up of E-tiers.
Nonetheless, it was extremely difficult for an E-tier aptitude user to kill an E-tier beast general or beast king.
Hence, most of the things here had to be the leftovers collected personally by someone from the mayoral or general rank.
Qin Feng looked around and quickly found the thing he needed.
Secret Art—Fire Dragon Style.
"I did not expect to see this here!" Qin Feng exclaimed while looking at the red leather scroll inside a glass counter.
Qin Feng improved rapidly owing to the gem of darkness. Most of his current attack relied on the hellfire manifested from the gem.
Though Qin Feng was already an E-tier ability user, his consciousness had yet to reach E-tier. Only ability users with E-tier conscious energy or above could master those devastating hidden techniques.
Back then, the bomb released by Chi Long had demolished the entire anthill of blacksteel ants and wiped out more than forty thousand insectoids in one shot. How preposterous!
The skill of an ability user would only be stronger than that of a gunner.
Qin Feng currently lacked such a signature ability.
Still, it was not easy to completely master the ability rune within a short period of time. A powerful ability might require three to five years of training to completely master.
Other than Fire Dragon, other well-known E-tier fire-type abilities included Star Flare, Magma, etc. The only thing was, these were extremely rare and not something that could be bought with money.
"This is what I'm looking for."
Qin Feng scanned the tag and saw that it cost three hundred fifty thousand points.
"I was hoping to buy some beast king materials to enhance my runic equipment. Seems that it is impossible now," Qin Feng said dejectedly but he was not entirely disappointed.
He was content to have obtained the ridiculously powerful Fire Dragon Style.
"Don't you get too greedy now. These are all our city treasures and valuable resources. There would be no chance of you getting your hands on this if it were not because of the fact that we don't have fire ability users!" Chi Long said with a grin.
Qin Feng was left with forty thousand points while Bai Li had twenty thousand remaining.
They combined them and used it to redeem thirty bottles of Luminous Honey.
The honey was made by a type of E-tier small-sized insectoid that roamed in specific mountainous areas. The mayor's wife in this city managed to contract a beast king, Luminous Bee, and used it to supply the honey. One bottle was only the size of a finger but cost two thousand points.
It was very useful since it could rapidly regenerate the consumer's conscious energy. The reason why Fu City could breed such a great number of gunners was partly thanks to the convenience of this particular item.
After Qin Feng had finished up his points, Chi Long had also swiftly spent three hundred thousand points to redeem three bombs. He then used the rest to replenish his magazines.
Gunner was no doubt a lavish profession.
After they returned to the hotel, Qin Feng hastily asked Bai Li to take out the cape.
At the bottom of the triangular cape, there was a diamond-shaped jade hanging and beaming continuously, though Qin Feng seemed to be the only one who was able to see it.
Qin Feng touched the jade with his finger but nothing happened. He thought of an idea and immediately put it into action. Conscious energy slowly flowed from his hand into the jade.
Boom!
All of a sudden, Qin Feng felt that his consciousness had entered a giant maze. Around him were walls made from white jade. There was only a single path straight ahead and a giant marble on the path had two words carved on it.
Godwill Atlas.
In the next moment, strings of unfamiliar words began to appear in his mind but he immediately understood everything.
'This, this is the guide to reach S-tier consciousness?' Qin Feng was astonished. Godwill Atlas was perhaps as potent as Asteroid Assimilation if this were true!
Qin Feng had once again grasped a precious opportunity.
But he soon furrowed his brows.
'The conflict between Red Sun and Fu City would take place three years from now. At that time, this atlas might attract unwanted attention from the Red Sun Corp.'
However, he quickly dismissed his pessimism.
'I attained A-tier within ten years before I was reborn. I believe I can get to the same level in three years in this new life. Better still, I would probably end up in the Hero-class. By that time, there's no need to be afraid of the Red Sun.'
He was determined not to let anyone rob away what was rightfully his.
The most important thing now was to master the atlas as quickly as possible to enhance his own ability.
He expanded his consciousness and began exploring the atlas. Few instances later, he came to a junction that forked out into three directions.
Qin Feng tried the left path but was quickly rebounded. He picked the right route next and was again promptly forced back. He was annoyed at first but surprised to find out that another three white jades had emerged above the first jade and were lit up.
Encouraged, Qin Feng proceeded to split his consciousness into three streams and advanced on the three paths simultaneously. He was not rebounded back this time and progressed rapidly.
At the end of each route was three more branches and they kept multiplying by the factor of three after that.
Chapter 178: E-tier Consciousness
This was where Qin Feng hit the stumbling block.
Though he managed to diverge his consciousness into nine streams, he was exhausted at the end of the third cycle.
Qin Feng retrieved his consciousness half an hour later. His face was pale and he could tell that his conscious energy was completely emptied.
'I can still go on!'
Qin Feng gulped in a bottle of Luminous Honey and his consciousness recovered swiftly. He could almost see the end of the road and was unwilling to give up when he was this close to completing the third cycle.
He immersed himself into the atlas and charged forward rapidly.
"Again!"
"Again!"
After the eighth attempt, Qin Feng finally reached the end of the jade maze. He felt dizzy when he split for the twenty-seventh time and retreated from the atlas.
Once he got out, he sensed that his conscious energy was gradually returning to him. More so, it expanded to the point beyond his previous limit.
A clear revelation occurred to him.
Without him knowing, Qin Feng's consciousness had just breached E-tier.
Qin Feng's eyes were beaming with newfound confidence.
"This Godwill Atlas is tremendous!" Qin Feng retracted his conscious energy and the cape fell right back into his arms. In his eyes, three rows of jades were blinking brightly at the bottom of the cloak.
Qin Feng estimated there to be at least nine rows on the atlas. If each row represented one cycle or stage, he could possibly reach SS-tier through it.
'The function of this cape must be kept a secret.'
"Bai Li, store this for me." He was reassured only after Bai Li had placed the cape back into her spatial rift.
There was no need to rush it. Qin Feng knew that he could easily conquer three cycles on the cape not because he was gifted but because he was already on the brink of entering E-tier.
It would take him a lot of effort and time to conquer the next stage.
After that, Qin Feng took out the leather scroll detailing the Fire Dragon Style.
Fire runes flickered on the leather as if it was on fire.
Absorb!
Qin Feng did not study the leather like others would have. Other ability users would normally analyze each rune carefully and then laboriously carve each rune onto their own energy core.
To Qin Feng, he would automatically learn the skill simply by absorbing all the runes at once.
He closed his eyes and freely consumed the fire runes from the scroll. The runes entered his E-tier conscious realm and spun rapidly around his diamond core.
The leather scroll suddenly caught fire at one point and the flame was absorbed through Qin Feng's glabella. Within seconds, the leather scroll turned black, then grey, and finally dispersed as dust.
Within Qin Feng's conscious realm, the large number of fire runes was all dyed by the gem of darkness and transformed into Hellfire. It spun around the diamond planet within Qin Feng and dark red flames gradually engulfed the entire core and took the form of a scarlet dragon.
After all the runes were imprinted onto the core, the dragon fully materialized and seemed eager to wreak havoc under the command of his new master.
Qin Feng had thoroughly mastered the new skill within a short amount of time.
His unique ability allowed him to improve drastically at an unprecedented rate.
Nonetheless, E-tier and below were considered entry-level. After that, the difficulty of being promoted to the next level would become significantly tougher.
***
The next day, Qin Feng contacted Chi Long to inform him about his departure.
"Why not spend some time to chill in our city? We have some extraordinary sceneries here." Chi Long laughed and said.
"I wish to but I have many things to deal with. After all, I still have a small colony to take care of." He was actually not involved much in the development and management of Fengli but he used it as an excuse.
"Haha. I get it. I have prepared an automobile for you. Take it as a sign of my gratitude and as a thanks for the help from Lady Bai!" Chi Long said joyfully.
In front of Qin Feng and Bai Li was a luxurious hover limousine. It was equipped with autopilot and was very spacious. The mobile appeared stylish and comfortable.
This luxury car cost Chi Long a fortune. It was priced at twenty million.
Chi Long did not earn as much and as fast as Qin Feng. Twenty million was considered ludicrous spending by his standard. But he decided to spend it anyway. After all, Qin Feng had given him thirty million before so he wanted to repay Qin Feng and leave him with a good impression.
"Thanks!"
"Don't be. In the future, just call me if you need a hand!"
"Naturally," Qin Feng nodded. He thought highly of Chi Long. He was smart, diligent, and comfortable to be around.
Qin Feng did not wish to make him an enemy. He did not say those words out of courtesy. It was hard to walk alone in this post-apocalyptic earth. Dangers that might emerge anytime would need aptitude users like them to save the day. Besides, conflicts between different parties would surely ensue in the future.
Qin Feng would do what he could to help those he viewed as allies and he hoped for the same from Chi Long.
Qin Feng exited the city in the limousine. He changed directions as soon as they were out of the city's surveillance.
He was not heading back to Chengyang. This was the place he wanted to go all along.
Qin Feng checked his communicator. The time on it slowly ticked toward the same time in his past life.
At the junction, one after another, trucks swirled down the mountain route. On top of each truck, several gunners were puffing leisurely while standing guard.
It was just a normal conveyance. The only unusual thing about this group would be the freight they were transporting.
Slaves!
These cars were traveling to Sea City. The city formed a triangle with Chengyang and Fu City. As its name suggested, this city resided by the sea, threatened to be demolished by the raging waves at any time.
Here, brutal fights broke off every now and then. Aptitude users here were ready to give their lives at any moment. Hence, they lived on the knife's edge every day and indulged extravagantly.
A lot of teenage girls from the slums would be kidnapped and sold to Sea City.
Qin Feng was unaware of this in his past life. He was one of those guards on the roof then.
Though he figured it out later on, he did not have enough courage and capability to save them after narrowly escaping death himself.
More than ten trucks passed him by like the wind. They did not notice Qin Feng at the corner. Qin Feng started the limousine's engine and trailed behind them.
One of the gunners noticed Qin Feng's limousine immediately.
"Wow! Where did this tycoon come from?"
The owner of the luxurious limousine must be showing off. Otherwise, he or she would not have driven this car out in the wild.
To an ordinary G-tier aptitude user, only a tycoon could have afforded such a vehicle.
