A month later...
She went inside and look around her new house. She learned a lot during last month while she was recovering.
When she woke up, she was in the pack hospital of the pack called Aurum Luna pack. It is the largest and most powerful pack in California. There were about five hundred members of this pack. Some lived in the pack and some scattered around California to make sure there was no danger to the pack. She also learned that the Aurum Luna Pack was located at the northern edge of the Nightfall Forest.
The person who brought her to the pack hospital was Nathan Hales, Beta of the Aurum Luna pack. She learns that his mate was killed by a rogue two years ago. She sympathized with him because she too knew the pain of losing a loved one.
Seeing her lost in her own world, Elias waved a hand in front of her face to elicit a response.
"Hey!! Out!! Out!! Hello..... are you still in this world? "
Snapping out of her thoughts, she glared at the person in front of her.
Elias Hales, adopted son of Nathan Hales. He adopted Elias two weeks after his mate's death. He found him when he and his pack launched an attack on a nearby rogue base. Elias was found in a bad condition in the cells of the base. After saving him from the rogues, Elias told them about his past. He told about the rogue who attacked his pack and killed everyone. Then Nathan decided to adopt him because he too has left no one in this world.
Elias was 5 years old when he was adopted and is now 10 years old. 3 years older than her. Looking at the boy, she couldn't help but compare that they were similar in some ways.
Coming back to her senses again, she looked where she was now. Her new house from now on.
After recovering, Nathan had asked about her as her papa said she only gave short answers like her name is Ellie, no last name. She could feel that pack was wary at her first but later when she told her pack was sabotaged and her parents were killed, they began to pity on her as lately a lot of packs had been destroyed by rogues.
"Yo El! Are you back in your dream world? Come on, I will show you our house. It will be your home from now on."
She looked around the house. Simple gray and white walls, dark gray ceiling with black and gray furniture, it seems to be a simple and cozy home. She heard that this house were built by Nathan for his mate. And the interior of the house was designed by Nathan's mate, Kenna. But after his mate dead, Nathan came to live here with Elias as this house was a reminder of the time they spent happily.
Elias grabbed her hand and dragged her through the house. Nathan couldn't help but smile as he watched the scene.
"Careful Eli! Ellie is still recovering"
"Understood, Dad," he said, grabbing Ellie and running from the living room to the kitchen.
"Let's go El! I'll show you the kitchen. I'm hungry. Dad already cooked for us. I can guarantee you that dad's food is the best."
Ellie looked at Nathan. Feeling a stare on him, Nathan looked and smiled at Ellie.
"Let's eat now, OK? You should take your medicine after eating."
Ellie couldn't help but admire Nathan. He raised Elias as his own son. She could see Elias was bright and cheerful person. She held gratitude to him for giving her the space to live, for adopting her. She was surprised when he first asked her about it.
"Ellie, I know you've lost a lot of people you loved. I could see it in your eyes, the sadness was hidden there. I know that feeling. If you don't want to be my daughter, that's fine. But if you want to accept this, I And Ellie would like to welcome you as a member of our family."
She had already introduced herself as Ellie, just Ellie. But now by adoption she was Ellie Hales, daughter of Beta Hales of the Aurum Luna Pack. She was somehow surprised when she found out that their last name was the same as hers. Maybe it was their destiny to meet. She knew she did the right thing because she could feel the familiar love and warmth from them.
Looking at the two persons that sat around the table with her and trying to warm her up, she gave a small smile at them.
"Mama and papa, don't worry about me. I think I found a new home. I will always love you," she said in her mind before started to eat.
This time she knew, she found a home for herself, again....
