Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

The world is divided into six castes, two upper nobility, two middle-class nobles, one lower nobility, and the commoner. Normally highborn noblemen like Eron would become social centers be under of another noble.

"When the nobles work hard, the commoner can only expect mercy. But, in the end, the nobles were given only this kind of food."

"Well, don't say that. We don't know what ordinary people do in invisible places. They could be doing great things we can't even see, right? But, a caste is a caste. The lower ranks will never exceed us. Right, Sien?" His green-haired friend joined him in throwing a look at the boy sitting across from them.

Like Ash and Ciel, the boy named Sien is also a commoner. It's just, that Sien is much more depressing for his blatant lack of purse-Eron.

The distance between Ciel and Ash to Eron was far enough, but they could hear him, for the purses had intentionally exaggerated their sounds to be heard by Ciel and Ash. If only Ash hadn't stopped Ciel at each time he was provoked, it would be Ciel, not Sien.

"It's useless to talk to him. Look at that. He can't wield a sword or unleash any useful magic."

Without pause, Eron quickly continued, "I had heard that the parents of commoner disciples always thought their children could stand a noble. In reality, though, they are nothing but trash looking up their hands."

Ash sighed as he tried to tighten his grip on Ciel. He glanced at Ciel biting his lip to suppress anger. If he took off the handle, Ciel would spit in the room without thinking.

"Shut the fuck up." The bold voice came from Sien, who suddenly arose over eron and his group.

There was a moment of silence. Ash and Ciel, who were determined to ignore the situation, stopped. Ash spontaneously turned his head as a loud thump sprang from Eron's group. Ash initially thought that Eron was beating Sien, but the opposite was true. Eron sits on the floor holding their faces, while Sien stands with clenched hands. In no time at all, Ash and Ciel knew what had just happened.

"You don't know anything about us!?" Sien blurted out in anger. He was about to move back over his fist, but Balt kick him from behind.

"A boy's obviously crazy." Ash unwittingly mumbled to his eyes. Turning to his side, he saw Ciel clench his fist with a red face. "Ciel, calm yourself. You know-"

"I trying to-"

"Shush!" Ash quickly closed Ciel's mouth with one hand and then pulled his twin over to the corner of the cafeteria. He realized that soon Ciel's anger would explode. And maybe without a second thought, Ciel's gonna put his fist to the Eron. While it is not a capital offense that keeps the perpetrator arrested by The Holy Knight, striking a nobleman with physical force is still considered a violation.

Instead, Ash let Ciel hit the wall behind him in anger. "Take a moment to calm yourself, Ciel. You promised not to cause any trouble while we were at the academy."

Ash and Ciel's aim was, not to be exemplary academy number one students, but to get a letter of recommendation. To get the letter, they were not to make trouble more than ten times in five years.

Ash bites his lips when Balt and some of his Eron hold Sien, while he starts beating Sien. There was laughter from the rest of the group as the body of the host was thrown against the walls of the cafeteria. Ash unwittingly tightened his grip on Ciel, not to restrain his brother, but to dispense the anger.

Unfortunately, despite their anger and their desire to beat Eron, they will only go the same way as Sien. This was not a one-time occurrence. The mocking pattern of the nobles will surely end with violence disguised in the caste code.

In this world, there is a system called health points. The limit to violence considered by the Canon is when one reduces health another's pointed by fifty percent. So if they're beaten until health points are left sixty percent, it's not considered a violation.

"Royal trash," Ciel muttered in disgust, trying to block his rationality. when he saw that not one student stopped the Eron.

Was treating humans like this a trifle to the Absolute?

Ciel's clunking hand now quivers anxious to ply it to the Eron and challenge him for a duel. But after Ash patted him on the shoulder, Ciel realized that challenging Eron to fight him would be a bad thing. To calm down, Ciel took a deep breath, noticing the drops of sweat falling from his chin onto the floor.

The health bar slowly declined and is now at eighty percent. Getting hit with bare hands doesn't make it too many points, but Ash and Ciel believe the Eron intends to beat the Cien to a violation limit. That means you're bound to end up beaten.

"Ciel, calm down, please."

As Eron laughed and flung his fists at Sien endlessly, Ciel remembered the Ivy fighting vigorously to protect the Junon City. At the time, Ciel and Ash just froze like fools. Just like the current situation.

"See? He can't even fight back!" Balt laughs when Sien lies weak on the floor, while the other disciples simply freeze.

Actually, a nobleman may defy the actions of a fellow nobleman at the same level or lower level. In this position, however, the Eron is middle class noble and there is no one or equal nobility in here.

"Stop that!" Ciel's losing patience. The logic immediately shouted, ignoring the hand that had gripped Ash. He then ran as fast as he could. Eron and Balt's faces look like those of monsters who were captured five years ago. The monster that had Ivy taken away and their parents died.

A Canon should exist to make everyone in this world happy. They must not kill, nor war, nor insult one another. From childhood, Ash and Ciel viewed Canon as the highest law to be obeyed without the slightest doubt. But why are there such rules? Why should it be differentiated based on caste?

Everyone should respect each other and have a loving heart. Canon and Absolute are the forces that can bring peace to this world. But why is this happening? Why must there be someone who can't fight against his pride? Why should there be a silent commoner when his friend is beaten up? Why would ivy, who was trying to protect Junon, be considered a criminal?

As of now, Ash and Ciel do not understand, what a Canon is and why absolute existence exists in this world.

"Don't move, you lowlife!" Balt immediately prevent Ciel steps. "This is a sentence of nobility to common people like you! If you attempt to stop it, you will be in breach of the Canon."

After saying that nonsense, Balt smiled wide and then burst into laughter as if he had seen a bite of reheated Ciel and Ash. While the others followed the tone of the conversation and laughed with them.

Ciel's whole body was shaking until it got out of control. By the time Ash caught up with Ciel, it was too late. Quickly the boy was drooling with a clenched fist. It's as though Ciel and Eron have never existed, Eron has failed to evade Ciel's movements. In a single blow, Ciel managed to decapitate the body against the cafeteria wall.

"A-ah! You! What are you doing?!" Balt shouting hysterically over Eron.

Ciel punches don't decrease health points much, but Ciel knows what makes the Eron freeze like that. Eron and cobalt's faces are replete with self-worth that sickens Ciel.

However, before Ciel could grasp his fist again, Ash appeared and immediately arrested him. "Th-that's enough, Ciel!"

"It should be a serious violation. But since I'm kind, I'll only give you a small punishment." Eron return to life, dusting the dust from their garments.

The Ash's jaw hardens as the Eron draw a second-tier badge of identification from the uniform pocket. Revisiting sly smiles, Eron says, "Disciple of first grade, Ciel, I dare you to fight me once with a real sword."
