"I had feelings for you ever since... I got enticed by your beautiful face that I forgot about what I was cooking."
Looking at her stand there with crossed hands he sighed and continued;
"I tried so much to make that soup and all my hard work went down the drain."
"I'll send you the entire money to rebuild your kitchen... enough to buy you a house... I am tired of being distracted by you.
He said and immediately walked out of the kitchen.
"Carl...
********
"Urghhhh my head hurts so much!!" Adira exclaimed the moment she woke up.
Hearing her voice, Liam stopped and turned towards her. In seconds, he reached out to her.
"Are you okay??? take a sip of the soup, it'll help you." He said stretching his hands to the small bowl of soup.
Opening her mouth, she took a sip.
"Hot!! hot!!!" she exclaimed, jumping out of the bed.
"My brother!!" She exclaimed again, she could remember they left him at home while he was sleeping.
"He is fine." Liam commented.
"I am going home." she said while checking around for her bag which she sighted close to the door.
"He is here." Liam said seeing the anxiety on her face.
Turning around, Adira looked at Liam.
"Uhn??" she asked for reassurance.
"Let me take you to him but first finish the soup, I had them prepare it for you." He said not wanting to repeat him self again.
"When I see him, then I'll finish the soup." Adira said with her hands resting on her waist.
"I'll take you to the CCTV room instead, when you finish the soup, I'll take you to him.
He said and walked passed her. Quietly they walked through the Halls of his house. At certain placement, she could see men with gun, it shocked her but she could guess the reason.
Different thoughts went through her mind but she could tell he was not in the mood so she kept her questions in mind.
Until he spoke;
"Is he your brother??"
"Yes." she replied immediately... she couldn't get why he asked such foolish question but knowing him, she was aware he had his reason.
Silence ensued after her response, it made her feel nervous that she had to say something.
"Is anything wrong?" she asked.
He stopped walking and turned towards her. Looking at her, he bent to reach her. Reaching down he took her hand and dropped the hot plate of hangover soup on it.
"Nothing is wrong." he said and turned towards the door that was by his side. After putting his fingerprint, he walked inside.
Baffled, Adira stood right at her spot not even making a move.
"Adira!" he said after waiting inside the CCTV room for over thirty seconds.
Hearing her name, she screamed and lost balance, causing the soup to spill a little on her hand.
Hearing her scream, Liam rushed to the door.
Tears rolled down her eyes but seeing Liam, she had a small smile on her face, though she was still feeling the burning sensation on her skin.
He rushed out with a gun on his hand pointing it towards her, she could feel his security instinct was at it's peak.
She also heard footsteps behind her, causing her to turn towards it. A guy was also at her back with a gun too.
Her heart began to race.
"It's fine Ishaya " he said towards the guy that had a gun in his hands after sensing her fear.
Taking the plate from her, he took her hands and lead her into the CCTV room. Drawing out a sit for her, he placed her on it and began dressing the injury.
"Are you okay now??" he asked after he was done.
"Yes, it wasn't all that painful." she said while looking at him. They said like that for some seconds before Adira coughed.
She couldn't understand why everytime she looked at him, he looks more handsome than he was before.
Looking at her, he had several thoughts in mind.
Is it that she doesn't know he is her son or.....
Standing up, he walked towards the computer and began looking through all the CCTV footage to find her so called brother as he thought.
"Come here." he said briefly.
Looking at the camera she could see her brother. He was looking towards the window but he kept glancing towards his back.
"You are sure that he is your brother?" Liam asked more like a statement he was making.
"Mmm" she hummed still watching him.
"Do you have a speculation that he isn't my brother??" She asked.
She had also been thinking the same thing. She had several thoughts when her mum said he was her brother.
He didn't look like her father at all. He looked a little but like her but it wasn't enough to call him her brother.
It was the exact way... she had a feeling since she was little that she didn't look like her father and now she is finding out the man she has been with since was not her father.
