"What are you doing here?" asked Sheela.
Nivritti gulped and slowly looked behind her. She hiccupped when she saw there was no one. Where did they go? The main door was still locked. But they were standing right there. How can they vanish? Or was she dreaming?
"What are you looking for there? Can't sleep. Are you in pain?" asked Sheela.
Nivritti could not stop hiccupping.
"Let me get you water," said Sheela.
"Water! Yeah, I… woke up coz I was thirsty," gulped Nivritti.
"I kept water next to me. Why did you come out here?" asked Sheela.
"I forgot, mom. Go back… (hiccup) to sleep. I will… (hiccup) come back soon," said Nivritti.
"Okay, come back soon," said Sheela, and finally Nivritti breathed with relief. But her hiccups continued. She kept hiccupping and looking for boys everywhere. "MY! TK!" she kept whispering.
