Twenty-four hours were up, and Nivritti was not yet out of the sedation. Doctors were still monitoring her.
"When will she wake up?" asked Kyung-Soo.
"Huh…" Jae-Geun exhaled loudly. "As I said her bleeding had stopped but her breath sounds were still a little shallow for us. We want her to be able to breathe on her own. Her breath sounds have not yet improved. She needs a little more time."
"But her family would arrive today. They must not see them like this. What about her little sister, her headache?" said Kyung-Soo. He knew that her family would be in for a big shock. First, they had no idea where Nivritti was and a stranger called them and told them she was in South Korea. Then that stranger told them that she was injured and in a hospital.
He could only imagine the pain they would be in after seeing their daughter hooked up to all the wires and IVs and pipes and whatnot.
