Love Turned Sour
This young man,Pablo was just almost done with his teen age, arrogant, vibrant and very inconsistent with everything . Pablo was at the apex of his adolescence as one may say. He had just joined Kachu campus . My dude was the proudest of all , if pride was a person, then it could have been him . He was a cute, short guy. He was very optimistic about 'life' at that time . It was all about eat, sleep,read and have fun and by having fun to him meant having a whole fleet of girls following him around back in the village . A boy from the village who just joined campus was a 'hotcake' to village 'kienyejis' . He didnt flip , he was a boy who always took advantage of any situation that came around . He was a flower back in the village and a Cactus in the urbans.
Joining campus back in 2015 was something very big at that time . In Kachu campus, Pablo felt free and he could do whatever he wanted to . His roommate Ivan, was a former classmate from high school , this guy lets say saw campus life from a different angle . He wasnt interested in girls or drugs in campus . Pablo on the other hand with his pride was an alcoholic , gambler and weed smoker đ”âđ«. He could come back to the room drunk late at night only to find Ivan asleep . He could bother him for some few minutes before blacking out .
Ivan was his best friend from high school, apparently they were in the same primary school . What a sweet coincidence . They used to play ping pong together in high school right from form one to form four . Ivan had his dark sides too but kept them private . We will keep them private for now.
Pablo became an icon in gambling at the streets near Kachu main campus. He was known for drinking,chewing khat and smoking weed .There was a group of seniors from Pablo's ethnic group who were also involved in gambling and weed . To be honest , these were the guys who gave Pablo the first roll of weed to smoke for free . The same guys who took Pablo to clubs and miraa dens.Many people tried to warn him to stay away from them but remember Pablo was 'pride' itself. Ivan also tried sooo hard but nothing happened. That went on for the first semester and the second semester,. Just before the start of the first semester for the second year, Kachu came up with a rule of making everyone clear school fees so that they can access the school premises . A gate pass was introduced .
The break before the start of the second year had an impact on Pablo . He had come back to his senses, he knew that he was rolling with the wrong crowd . He had tasted the dark side of being a drug addict .
Pablo's parents were middle class persons, his mother worked as an administrative assistant while his dad was a primary school teacher . Mother was the best of all and always took care of Pablo's bills . His dad was a drunkard ,irresponsible and all round proud man . I guess thats where Pablo got his pride from . He had five other siblings who also were in school and each of them had bills to be covered . Their mom always struggled to make sure all of them were comfortable . She could always call to make sure all of his children had a meal . God bless all moms in the world .
After the then Vice Chancellor of Kachu university had made fee clearance mandatory, well Pablo had problem here . His brother was in form four and about to do his national exams, elder brother was in college , his sister was also in high school and his other two siblings were in a private school . Those are alot of mouths to feed,dress,educate and make sure they were comfortable wherever they were . Surprisingly,their mom pulled it all off with a little help from their dad . Proffessor Melon,the vice chancellor signed the rule and instructed all gates to be locked and only entry to be allowed to those who had the privilege to clear their school fees on time. Pablo wasnt among them.
Pablo decided to stay home for a year to allow his siblings to be better for a while . It worked, this served as a rehabilitation for him . During this time he had the chance to go and work in Kitengela . He stayed with his aunt for about three months when his pride caught up with him and he decided to quit the job . This was not a big deal for him .
2017 general elections were approaching . Everyone was in the rush of going to home to vote for their favorite politician . The elite youth from in the village were invited for a job interview with the electoral body of the country . Pablo was a new person and all that past life was behind him . He applied and was invited for the interview . He wasnt the only one attending the interview in his home. He had a big company of family and friends . Among them was his cousin Kevin .
That morning Pablo wore a T-shirt, a hoodie with a 'oppo' logo on it , a baige trouser and a pair of sneakers . He wasnt the smartest of all but he was looking nice . They travelled to a nearby shopping centre called Kisima where the interview was going to happen . Upon reaching Kisima shopping centre , Pablo and his friends had a chance to reunite with other friends and former classmates . That was before the interview started . Kevin also reunited with his former classmates .
Pablo was inside the interview building jay walking before the interview started. When he came out he met Kevin together with his former classmates . He greeted them and among them was this outstanding woman . She was wearing a pencil skirt, a woven cap and a trench coat. She caught his eye . She was lightskin , a dark tongue, her face was all smiling ,she was so beautiful . Pablo couldnt help but stare at her . He decided to make a silly move to get acqauinted to her . He told her that she was familiar and thought they had met somewhere. But this was just a trick to get to her.
Kevin introduced Pablo to This woman by the name Delilah . Coincidentally Delilah was joining Campus and she got a letter from Kachu university,
