MORGAN
I opened my eyes and realized I was alone in the cave. Not only that but I felt like I was complete, like millions of strands everywhere were being tied to me. Along with that, there was power humming inside me and right now it told me that punishment needed to be delivered.
It fought for control over me and instinctively I fought back. Then, the image of my parents severed head came back to me and I gave in. Everything in me was telling me to. The power swallowed me whole, I walked out of the cave but it was like my body was not my own. I was aware of everything but I wasn't the one steering.
I looked up, the sky had turned a bloody shade of red and the sun glowed crimson. He took my family away from me, he humiliated me and now I will be the physical embodiment if karma.
With every step I took the grass died beneath me. I let the smoke cover me and take me to the entrance of the castle. All the castle guards were stationed at the bottom of the staircase. I felt it, and I knew without a doubt they did too. I kept walking towards them and if they stood in my way I would kill them all.
I wouldn't say I was surprised when they withdrew from attack stances but I was when they started to bow, every single one. I waltzed into the castle. I needed to take back what was mine if I wanted to storm into werewolf territory. Kai, Mia and Cassy came rushing down the stairs but stopped in their tracks when they saw what exactly the threat was.
"Morgan, what happened?" He asked me clearly confused. This morning I had just been his little princess and now I was something whose present made the skies bleed red. I ignored him and turned to Cassy.
"Well well, if it isn't the vessel," her eyes gree wide. "Give me the book Cassandra," I asked all too polite for my liking and she stepped back. "Morgan, you're not yourself right now let me help you learn to control it," I narrowed my eyes at her defiance and in that same moment something wrapped around me making me hiss, "fine then, I suppose I'll just have to take it from you by force."
I reached hand toward her and she started to scream. "Morgan you're killing her," Kai said and all it took was a look to have him on his knees writhing in agony. A small portal opened on her chest and my grimoire appeared; I took at and stared in dismay at the chains binding it. "Now that won't do," I said and snapped my fingers breaking the chains.
I commanded darkness so consume me again and this time it brought me to the edge of the forest where the castle resided. A barrier surrounded the castle but getting through it was child's play. The moment I broke through the protection warning bells began to ring.
Within minutes the first line of defense came through. I could tell that when they saw me they were disappointed.
GABRIEL (beta)
We were all in his highness's office discussing about how to approach the other kingdoms. After the assassination attempt on the future Onkire they had all closed us off.
The king's beta was speaking when an eerie red glow seeped into the room. The sky had become a bloody red and so had the sun. This was unnatural, was the a veil over the barrier?
Anna, one of the witches burst in looking panicked. She dropped a book on the table that showed the explanation to our sudden change in lighting.
The witches of the bleeding sky.
Witches of unimaginable power can have an effect on nature itself when their powers are not under control. This is usually the case of those from the nine covens.
Witches of the bleeding sky can drain the life of nature in terms of plants and animals around them. If left unchecked they have been known to destroy entire villages and cities.
They are swallowed by their magic and have no rational sense of thought. The worst cases of the witches of the bleeding sky ever recorded were that is the mad queen and the VetsMati king.
Witches are aware of what they are doing but the magic has a hold on them and the only way to bring them back to their senses is to have that which they most cherish reach into the deepest part of their subconscious or to hold them in mystical bindings like the chains of Aleroy. The chains were once used to hold king VetsMati when he destroyed most of what we call the witches capital today after his sister's demise.
After being freed, the chains disappeared never to be seen again.
That explained what was happening but didn't exactly tell us why. Less than half an hour later the barrier around the castle was breeched or rather torn down completely. You could practically feel the atmosphere change. I left to go with the first defense line, the royal family would only get involved if they elite warriors had failed.
By the time I reached the others they had already shifted. It was strange, there were no wolves at all no vampires either so who was making a direct attack in the castle?
I was about to shift when I saw her. She radiated a power that commanded respect and was as malevolent as they come. Something was different but she was still Morgan, the king's former chosen. I scoffed, and I knew everyone was with me on it.
She walked until she was face to face is Jordan, the leader of the first defense line and then, the unthinkable happened.
He started howl and whimper in pain but all she did was stand there. It looked like his limbs where being twisted and turned and then....just like something out if a movie he was ripped apart and blood splattered everywhere. She was drenched in his blood as she made a move to lick her fingers.
"You have two choices, either you all fall back and let me through or be responsible for your families mourning your deaths tomorrow because I assure you, none of you are making it out alive."
Every wolf growled and started charging. I was too paralyzed to even move. It was so unreal. She moved with blinding speed and massacred a number of wolves with her bare hands. She ripped out hearts and snapped the necks of others; they were no match for her. In no time at all, the first defense line, all forty wolves where just lifeless bodies. The second line came in charging and all stopped in their tracks.
She raised one hand and about a dozen wolves rise with it, the others being frozen in on the ground. "Ësćajō," she said barely above a whisper and soon enough they all met the same fate as Jordan. She bathed in their blood and entrails.
The remaining wolves started to cower in fear, their ears and tails falling. A wicked smile placed itself on her face as she looked like every child's work nightmare. "Įgnaçii," she said and at that exact moment they were engulfed in flames. They howled and begged for death, reverting back to their human bodies within the flames.
The second like was down to ten wolves. She put her hand on Lisa, and caressed her fur. "Tell me, will you let me pass or do you wish to meet an even more gruesome fate?"
She was looking at her but the question was addressed to all of us. They bowed their heads and parted. She smiled and made her way to the door where I stood. "Let's play a game, Gabriel. I'll give you a head start, tell your king that I'm coming for him and everything he holds dear. I will kill anyone in my way."
I ran like my life depended on it because at this moment it did. They were in the throne room with witches standing guard. "What is happening out there?" Julie asked the fear clear in her features. "It's Morgan, she is the one who broke the barrier. Your highness, she has swept through the entire first line and three quarters of the second. She said to tell you that she's coming for you and everything you hold dear. It will be foolish to try and fight her, we're all going to die!"
The minutes dragged on and there was no sound, until screaming was heard from the other side of the doors. My blood ran cold when the doors blew off their hinges.
Her appearance had changed. Her hands and feet looked like they were dipped in tar and her eyes.... god the whites of her eyes had turned pitch black and her irises were crimson. She was covered in blood and her dress was torn and tattered. This was the embodiment of death
"Found you."
"It cannot be," Anna said. She walked towards her and stopped just a few feet away. "Hecate," she said and got on her knees, bowing. Soon all the witches followed suit and we couldn't understand what was happening but Hecate, I had heard that name before.
She walked to where Demetre was and took him in, "I'm going to strip you of everything you hold dear. Your family, your friend, your crown and finally your wolf."
No one noticed that the former king had even shifted until he lunged at her. She turned and held him by the neck with ease. "It seems you are not yet aware of how much control I hold over you mutt. Now, shift."
His body morphed into that of a human and she still had him in her grasp. He struggled to breathe and clawed at her hand. "Not so nice when you're the one gasping for air is it your majesty?"
"Demetre, I will ask you one question and one question only; when you took my parents from their home and murdered them taking away from me and attempted to have me killed as well, did you feel remorse?" He looked at his father, then at his family and back at her.
"Yes," she laughed. Humorlessly. "I have your entire family and kingdom hanging by a thread and you still choose to lie?"
In a split second fangs we didn't notice were bared and she sunk them into his neck the same way a rogue vampire would. He struggled until his movements became sluggish and stopped completely. He was dead, no doubt.
Morgan tossed his body at Demetre with an even more crazed look in her eyes, "now where's that precious mother of yours?"
