Marcus entered the first of the crafting rooms which he discovered to be a laboratory.
All around the room were various scientific tools and some strange ones he had never seen before, there were beakers, flasks, test tubes, jars and various other glassware of all different sizes.
There were also many pieces of equipment you would only find in a modern day lab such as a centrifuge, fume cupboard, multiple bunsen burners etc.
Marcus didn't know what to make of it, the entirety of the space he had seen so far looked ancient like a piece of preserved history from the medieval era but this lab looked incredibly modern, even futuristic.
[This lab is not just for alchemy, but also any other experiments you may wish to perform.
If you look to your right you will see a door, this is to the disease lab where you can even look into or create any diseases you wish to, your ancestor thought this could come in handy for you as diseases are something you can trade with your main ability if you wish]
"What? I don't know anything about science or diseases what could I do with all this?"
Marcus stressed his lack of knowledge to the system hoping to fish for some hints of the benefits involved in the future use of the lab.
[Even if I was allowed to give you such advice without you earning it, I can't right now as the system hasn't been fully installed yet and I don't have any information beyond the general uses of the private space and a few things your ancestor wanted me to note during the tour]
"Damnit" Marcus sighed
After a few more minutes of looking around the lab and pulling a few things out to have a closer look he decided to leave and have a look at his other craft rooms.
The next door led to an engineering area with a big open space to build and modify machinery or vehicles, there were various modern day and old looking tools around the room including welding and cutting torches, a table for creating blueprints and a weird table covered in strange symbols.
[The table is for enchanting parts to allow you to empower your creations as you wish, you will learn more about that when you start your studies, I would suggest you go through the side door and see what else is there]
Again there was a door to the right of where he had entered the engineering space, heading through he found a simple smithy like you would find in a medieval village.
There was a furnace for smelting ores, a forge used for heating his metal and an anvil to work the metal, various metal working tools lined the walls and there was another enchanting table to the side along with another strange table with several chisels hanging from it.
Looking around Marcus found a cupboard filled with molds pre-made for things like gears and screws as well as other small or intricate parts that could be used in various machines. Also several empty sacks made from a strange material that was probably even watertight, and seemed incredibly strong, these must be used to move certain resources to and from the smithy.
"System, what's that strange table with all the chisels?" Marcus asked as this was the only item which purpose he didn't have a good idea of, it was again covered in strange symbols but was different than the enchanting table he had seen earlier.
[That is an engraving table, it is used to engrave magical formations into metal work, it is another form of enchantment used by many blacksmiths back before magic disappeared from the world, I again advise you to start your studies before trying your hands at the crafting rooms, you will also need to gather some materials to practice with as the rooms have none to start with]
Marcus left the smithy and engineering area, looking to the next door.
[This door is a bit different, there isn't much to do inside and it leads to two other doors that each are more like storage rooms than anything else. However they will be important on your journey so it's best to have a look for now, even though they are empty]
Marcus opened the door seeing a large vault door on the left and a sturdy iron door on the right.
'Let's head left first' he thought while heading to the vault door.
He opened the door and saw a large space with empty shelves lining the walls and multiple empty chests.
[This is your treasury, anything collected in the outside world is stored here, due to ownership of the private space the inventory feature on the system will lead to storage within the space, most of it will be sorted into this room and arranged onto the shelves or into the chests. Don't worry about finding them as your inventory feature will also be able to withdraw even within the private space, this is simply the room where they are stored.
Now unlock the door at the back, this is the tunnel that leads to your private chambers]
Marcus was dumbfounded, not only did he have such a large treasury, although it was empty it still showed what the ancestor was expecting him to need to store his treasures, but he also found out one of the system features and it sounded like a good one.
An inventory!
He will no longer have to worry about carrying heavy items around with him or getting robbed while exploring the world, he could just pack everything away into the private space and withdraw it with a thought.
'That will make travelling so much easier without having to worry about packing.' He thought with glee, his innate laziness finally receiving a reprieve.
[Alright you lazy bastard, I know that makes some things easier but you still have to put effort into your training or you will die very quickly once the rising starts. You're not off the hook yet]
The smile dropped off from Marcus's face when the system reminded him of this, it was true he had to put in a lot of effort or he will just die.
He had a big destiny ahead of him and also felt a sense of debt towards Lucian for all these gifts so he didn't want to let him down, this felt strange as Marcus didn't usually care about things like debts owed to people and would just ignore it.
There was not much to see in the treasury so after unlocking the back door he left and went towards the door of the other storage room.
Inside there was rows upon rows of what appeared to be weapon racks and some shelves at the back.
[This is your armory, any weapons produced or found outside that you store in your inventory will be brought into here and arranged into the racks, any ammunition be it an arrow or an artillery shell will be sorted onto the shelves along with any throwables.
At the back you will also find a shutter, this leads to a garage where your vehicles will be stored, anything from a pedal bike to a space station can be kept there.
Again there is also a door to your quarters at the side you should unlock, when both treasury and armory have been unlocked the door in your quarters will unlock and can be used to access the storage rooms.]
Marcus unlocked the door and due to curiosity opened the shutter to the garage which was just an enormous empty space with a smooth concrete floor.
Marcus then left the armory back into the main hall, there were only 2 doors left so he headed to the next one which turned out to be a training room, this one was specialised in ranged weapons and could be programmed to any environment with multiple difficulty levels from a firing range with standard hanging targets to a simulated warzone.
This was an incredible room and Marcus spent a good hour looking through the settings that could be used, taking his time to look around each simulated environment he activated but there were thousands and he didn't currently have a weapon to practice with so he eventually got bored and decided to move on.
Upon approaching the final room Marcus got a warning from the system.
[I would be careful with this final room, it's the physical combat training room and is designed to simulate dark creatures, there is no control function after being turned on and it simply generates the creature you have selected in a random simulated environment, so for now I would just look around and not touch the interface to avoid a fight you don't know anything about]
Marcus nodded, he knew he wasn't ready for any kind of fight yet especially against a dark creature.
He would need to start his studies in the library and gain a weapon before even attempting a fight, he needed to know how to defeat them to have a hope.
[Ok, the tour is concluded I would suggest getting some rest before starting to study tomorrow while waiting for the system to finish installing. Alternatively I will show you the way out of the seperate space so you can make your way out of your ancestors shrine and back to the surface]
"Hmm, I can see the merit to both options. How long is left on the installation? It must have been at least 12 hours now." Marcus pondered.
[System installation time remaining: 23:59:16]
"What the fuck?"
