Eric couldn't stand still. He paced around the room, sat down to read his newspaper for a few minutes, stood up, and paced back and forth again. He was bothered to know how his grandson and granddaughter-in-law were faring.
Baron had called a few minutes earlier and given the status report on the current situation, but that was two hours ago. He hadn't heard anything from Baron or Desmond since then. He had a bad feeling that something was going on.
Eric stood up from his chair, picked up his phone, and dialed Desmond's number. The phone was turned off. Eric didn't panic; he dialed Baron's number instead, and he still got the same response. Eric was convinced something had happened. Baron's phone was never turned off.
Quickly, he headed for his car and drove off to the place that Baron had described as the exchange point.
