Desmond was exhausted. He had left the house early and was now coming home late. What made it even more exhausting for him was the way the people around him kept getting on his nerves. The main reason he left early wasn't to go to work. But rather, it was to interrogate some of the maids, the way Desmond did it. No one had any prior knowledge of the questioning until they were taken to the place.
Desmond would simply send one of his bodyguards to bring over any maid, and anyone they brought would be questioned. Desmond would then question them with intimidation, threats, and psychological attacks to force the answer out of them.
He wanted to keep things from getting physical. He intended to question each maid separately for as long as necessary before returning them to his mansion as if nothing had happened.
