He was on the hospital bed. Desmond and Sam looked down on him from where they stood. Desmond looked over to his wrists as clear fluids began their journey into his grandfather's veins. His pulse echoed throughout the room, his fickle old limbs quivering as he tried to keep his current sitting position on the hospital bed.
