Chapter 15 - You Better

Sam had gone to bed earlier in a low spirit. Her journey was a failure. Now Mickey was in trouble. Why wasn't her mother managing the restaurant anymore? Was she sick? Was she dead? Sam ended up crying herself to sleep.

She was suddenly awoken by a gentle knock. Sam hurriedly went to the door. She could do with a shoulder to cry on. When she opened the door, though, it wasn't Ann or Maggie. She recognized a male servant she had not seen before. He was carrying a rectangular gift box.

"From Master," he said, courteously handing it to her.

Sam took it, looking puzzled, and went back inside. She sat on her bed, set the box on her lap, and looked at it with a frown.

Why was Mr. Desmond buying her a gift? She thought he was angry about her leaving the mansion.

She untied the ribbon and ripped the wrap eagerly.

Sam took out the phone box and looked at it in bewilderment.

"No way!" She gushed.
