August 16th, 1996, my younger brother and I were born into the Lovern family.
We were welcomed with a lot of love and celebration.
Our mother did not have an easy delivery and was hospitalized for 3 weeks, but she always told us that she would gladly experience the pain 10 more times if it meant that she would have us.
She was a lovely woman with dark brown hair and eyes that seemed to glow under the sun.
Our father was doing fairly well for himself and was already working as a middle level manager at a trading company at the age of 32. He owned the 3 bedroom apartment that our family lived in, and was able to buy 2 cars for him and my mother each.
Father is the type that looks stern and strict when outside, but becomes like playdough when at home with his wife. Mother twists and turns him as she pleases and he wouldn't utter a word.
So despite him being 7 years older than my mother, her word is the law at home.
Our mother works as a data analyst at a pharmaceutical company with an annual salary of $75,000. Apart from helping with some things around the house and sending money to her parents, most of her salary was saved for us. Of course she goes shopping, and treats herself to the spa, but only once in in a while. She wanted us to have very comfortable lives.
And we did!
We went to top schools, traveled every year (flying economy though), of course we dressed well and had new phones, we also learned a foreign language and special skill.
We both chose by Mandarin as our foreign language.
For the special skill, I chose MMA while Baris, my younger brother, chose cello.
Mother really didn't like the fact that I chose MMA, because she was worried that I'd have scars or a broken nose, and ruin my beauty.
Although I managed to convince her, she would still wonder out loud why I couldn't be more like my name.
My name, Ainara, means delicate, as mother had wished for a delicate and lovely daughter.
The type that loves to wear pink, go shopping, have afternoon tea, and regular trips to the spa.
Apart from the afternoon tea and occasional trips to the spa, I'm more of a tomboy. I do go shopping once in a while, and if I sit down doing nothing I look like a doll, but that is very rare for me.
I'm always up and about, and when I was younger, I was almost always causing mischief, giving my parents plenty headaches.
Baris though is a perfect representation of his name, calm, quiet and steadfast. Mother gave him that name because she didn't want a rambunctious child and she heard that boys were quite troublesome.
Maybe she should have given me a name that meant calm as well, haha!
Baris followed mother's footsteps and became a data analyst, while I became a mechanical engineer.
At the beautiful age of 28, I had my own car and my boyfriend of 3 years and I had gotten a mortgage for our own place, and were planning on getting married in 4 months.
I had a great life. I had a really great life.
So why, just why...
Why did I have to get transmigrated????
Give me back my life you damn system!!!!
