Chapter 13 - Silent Voice

Aunt Lin heard the commotion in the backyard and found me unconscious with the wound on my neck. My blood flowed a lot, and soon aunt Lin screamed, making the other's helper wake up. Quickly, Mr. Harto started the car's engine and rushed to take me to the nearest health center. The grandfather who had been sleeping woke up feeling excessively worried about what happened to me.

"Call nurse Dory, tell her to come here immediately," said the grandfather, who is now at the health center, waiting for me who is now in the ER.

Aunt Lin, aunt Yun, and Mr. Harto are here to accompany grandpa. Grandpa was worried and wondered what happened to me. Why can I be like that, why can I be in the backyard of the castle at night? No one can answer it, because I haven't been conscious and am now in the stage between life and death.

An hour-long, I was rescued, but the bad thing had to do with my voice. My vocal cords got sharp nails just now, and there's a possibility that I'll never be able to talk again, but only a possibility because there are all sorts of things that can happen in this world.

"Do everything to get my granddaughter back to talk," grandpa said will do everything for me, whatever it is.

Nurse Dory came over in a hurry. Grandpa explained what happened though completely unsure. Coincidentally, Mr. Lucas was in the health center because of his dealings with someone who was working here. Mr. Lucas saw grandpa and asked nurse Dory who could represent grandpa answer him.

"Can I go in looking at the wound?" asked Mr. Lucas realizing something was going on at night, and it was something that wasn't good.

"No, you have already made false accusations on my granddaughter and are now sympathetic to what happened to Eiryana. Go, don't make this something interesting for your boredom!" exclaimed grandpa still angry at Mr. Lucas who took me yesterday in a way that was not good in his opinion. A person like me can't commit murder, let alone cruel means.

Mr. Lucas left but did not leave the health center. Secretly, Mr. Lucas asked his friend who worked here for help and asked to see me who was now stitching my neck. Mr. Lucas walked in silently and looked at me who was unconscious. My neck was stitched up, it took a few stitches. On my neck were two scratches, and one deep scratch that hit my vocal cords.

When he saw the scratch, Mr. Lucas realized something. The scratch was the same as the wound on Budi's corpse. This became clearer and clearer if there was something dangerous in his beloved village. Something terrible could have endangered his family as well.

The nurse who treated me came out and said that my wound had been sutured and it was better if I was referred to the hospital, the hospital facilities were much better than the health center here. Grandpa readily agreed and took care of everything. Aunt Lin and aunt Yun also helped well, even the nurse Dory, who was a worker in the hospital, helped to smooth things out. For a while, I was still inside the ER.

Senem was inside the ER, watching me lie down with a bandage on my neck. Feelings of guilt, made him weaken like a man who lost his valuables.

"I'm sorry, thank goodness you survived."

Grandpa felt a strong wind through it. Grandpa walked into the ER looking after me while the others were taking care of a referral to the hospital, tonight. Not surprised by Senem's existence, grandpa came to him with the courage he had.

"This is your deed?! It was you who Eiryana?!" asked grandpa in a high tone that he couldn't help.

"This is something Enzo didn't intentional, I didn't mean it this way. Everything happened so quickly. Forgive me for hurting Eir, I feel guilty to the point of not knowing what to make amends for. I'm sorry," Senem retorted within himself with guilt that had never been expressed before. Senem only recalls bad memories of human fear of him after learning about how cruel he would be if he were killed.

"You are my best friend, don't make me think too badly of you. Get out of here, I need time, and please, never see Eiryana again, she won't be able to afford a bad memory, it's enough for her to have another bad memory of his parents," grandpa said saying to keep me safe. If I were sober and listened to grandpa's words, I would oppose it because Senem is someone who needs friends, just like me.

"Enzo."

"Please go."

By the time I woke up I was already in another room I didn't know. My voice couldn't get out, I understood what happened. Grateful that I still survived after that much bleeding. Although my voice is instead. Let's just hope this isn't permanent.

"Eiryana, thank goodness."

Aunt Lin, aunt Yun, together with grandpa, and nurse Dory. They were here, looking at me, worried about myself. For the first time, I was happy to see nurse Dory here, although the pleasure ended when nurse Dory asked about my situation. Where could I possibly answer that, with my current condition?

For two days long I spent my time in the hospital. Sometimes when I eat, it feels a bit painful when the food passes through my throat, even several times I drink more often than eat. My neck usually hurts again when I move a lot. Then grandpa handed me a pen and a small notebook if I had anything to say.

"I'll go home first for a while, and then come back here again," said the grandfather who guarded me all these years attentively.

I began to write slowly, "Grandpa just takes a break, today I will be discharged from the hospital. There is no need to go back, let Mr. Harto pick me up."

My grandfather nodded in understanding and rubbed my head. His face filled with wrinkles, and then the way he walked which was not as firm as before, made me feel more and more fond of my grandfather more and more than anything else in the world. I don't know if my father or mother knew about my situation, I hope grandpa will convey it even though grandpa himself has not gotten the answer that makes me like this. I don't want to talk about it.

Moments later, Senem came over. I had fallen asleep just now and woke up with a little opening of my eyes. It was Senem, his face was getting wrinkled, I understood what he was about to say. Senem was about to leave, but I got up and slowly held his hand. Senem looked happy to see me sober.

I wrote down some things that I wanted to tell Senem and Senem waited patiently. "Thank you for visiting me. Don't think about this, it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself, because I'm fine."

Senem read my writing and his eyes filled with tears. His eyes are green, it seems to be in a mood, good or bad depending on the color of his eyes. If Senem is in good condition, his eye color becomes green, but if it is in a bad state, his eyes turn dark brown.

"I'm sorry Eir. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it this way. I lost control. Again I'm sorry."
