Chapter 3 - Folklore Titled Senem

"What happened this dawn?" I asked curiously.

Grandpa's expression changed, well I don't remember. But it feels like the dream is too real, can I dream of such things? It could be, but usually, dreams have triggers like if you have watched a horror movie, sometimes dreams also become a bit horror. Yesterday before I went to bed, I didn't even think about mythological creatures or weird things like half-human, half-beasts.

"It was dawn I had a low back pain, and you didn't help grandpa," grandpa said his face sullenly like a child.

"Huh? Where do I know, I'm still asleep. I'm sorry my dear Grandpa, next time wake me up if Grandpa feels uncomfortable. I'll try to get up," I said teasing grandpa by hugging him like children who wanted his apology accepted.

"Hahaha, I'm just kidding, I can't bear to wake up my sleeping granddaughter, except for emergencies."

"I love Grandpa."

We laughed together, my relationship was very close to grandpa, even closer than me with my mother, even though usually the children were closer to their parents, but I was even closer to my grandparents, although my grandmother was dead, I missed her almost every day.

"Grandpa, regarding the creature that Grandpa talked about yesterday, what creature is it?" I asked even more curiously because it was hung up yesterday without any definite answer.

"Creatures? Oh who stole your food in the rubber garden? Listen to me kid. This is the countryside, there are still many myths believed here. Let me tell you one of the stories that are here. Don't interrupt or interrupt my talk right away when I tell you a story," grandpa said his face looking serious as if he believed the folklore that was here.

I nodded my head in understanding. I didn't speak because I was listening to what grandpa was going to tell me, if this was interesting in my opinion if it wasn't interesting at best I just pretended to understand.

"This story already existed before I was even born. It is said that there is a boy who gets a curse. This curse originated from an ancient work that is now destroyed. The curse is physical, this man's body is aging prematurely, although his face looks like an old man or an old grandfather, his physical strength is the same as ten strong men. Reportedly, this man had the worst time, unable to die because the only chance to get to death quietly was to get rid of his curse. But he didn't know how to release his curse. So now he is exploring, but has never been able to get out of this territory, he will always be bound by this territory until he gains calm with the disappearing curse."

Only halfway through my listening to grandpa's story, I yawned because I wasn't interested in such a story. It could have been that in the past people relied on curses or something, and if it had survived until now it would have sounded strange as it may have sounded. Some people used to give the curse of parents to a young man. Just imagine if I had wrinkles at my current age, mom would be very angry and tell me to use all kinds of skincare or tell me to go to her boring beauty clinic.

"Why? You don't believe it?" the grandfather asked realizing that I was yawning, meaning I wasn't so interested.

"Of course don't believe it. Grandpa, nowadays it's modern, things like that only exist in stories, and again I don't understand whether the story has to do with food thieves or not," I retorted honestly to grandpa because lying to please grandpa is also useless.

"It was this creature that stole your food. This old child, or we call it Senem. Wandering without direction, looking for ways and surviving because all living things need food," grandpa said his face again looking serious. Grandpa seemed to believe the story, his face looked convinced by it.

"Has Grandpa ever met him? With Senem?" I asked the name Senem alone sounded strange.

"Of course I have! If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed in this folklore. You're my granddaughter, have to believe this story too," grandpa said patting me on the shoulder like trying to convince me.

"It could be an ordinary human who has a gene disorder, or an ape that comes off and then wears human clothes. Many things can happen without being noticed. Now in modern times, people usually develop living inventions illegally, and the countryside is the safest place to conduct experiments, away from the military and the government," I retorted, thinking that could have been the thing I was thinking about. Loose experimental experiment experiments, wandering because of hunger, looking for shelter, and hiding from the bad guys. At least that's the logical thing I thought of.

"Huh! It's up to you kid, believe it or not. After you see it, you will immediately understand. Huh... even though Dory immediately believed when she read the news about this folklore without me telling."

Nurse Dory believed? Does such a person believe it? It's unpredictable, a Dory believes in such things. Never mind, if grandpa had told me I just accepted it, instead of grandpa saying good things about nurse Dory, it would have irritated me more than ignored.

Long live, nurse Dory showed up smiling at us. I didn't return his smile and turned my head towards the other. The grandpa mango tree has begun to bloom, as well as other trees, it seems that in the next few months it can be a big harvest, unfortunately, I have returned to the capital, and my vacation is over.

"Master, has Mr. had breakfast? In that case, let's take the medicine," nurse Dory said in a tone of speech like a good person, even though it was just a childish way.

"Uh, my stomach hurts, I feel like I'm going to throw up," I muttered feeling nauseous with the fake smile.

"Miss has a stomachache? I have a cure," nurse Dory said as if caring about me, whereas if grandpa wasn't around, his true nature appeared as a mother of nagging, his mouth would say things I shouldn't know. Just imagine.

I went from there and took a walk among grandpa's mango orchards. The garden behind here is so vast, to the point that it feels like a forest if only grandpa planted more mango trees again. The spacious garden and grandpa has always liked his garden like this, not letting people carelessly help him in taking care of his plants.

His face was filled with wrinkles, why did it feel familiar with my dream last night, but grandpa didn't say anything about his legs? It was just a dream, a dream could have been randomly formed unexpectedly. Then inside the garden, I saw a person, someone who was watering the plants with a hose he was holding. I startled him and he immediately sprayed water on me accidentally.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you standing there," he said immediately turning his back to me.

"Hey, when it comes to talking to each other, are your eyes behind?! Turn around, I wonder who you are," I said with emotion only in the morning I was already wet in an unexpected way.

"I can't, there's something on my face, I don't want to show it to others," he replied sounding like a child, but he was taller than me. It must have been a teenager, but his voice didn't sound like a teenager going through puberty, or maybe he was late for puberty, or his body was just tall and hadn't entered adolescence.

When I didn't ask him to talk, he once again sprayed water on me and disappeared from my sight. His running was so fast, even I didn't realize that he had disappeared from my sight.
