Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Cursed

"He has wolf's bane flowing in his veins, Sir, and this is the reason we lost his mother." The words of the female doctor he met at the hospital earlier on repeated in his head as he sat on the deluxe sofa in his sitting room. His face was red with anger and his hands were clenched in a fist as he rested it on the handles  of his chair.

His name was Sylvester Stone, the CEO of Stones Incorporation and one of the richest billionaires in the world. He was also a beta that governed his own pack and philanthropist to many. A day that was supposed to become his day of joy turned out to be a day of sorrow -- On that fateful day, the 3rd of September 1990, his son was born but that was also the same day that he lost his wife to the cold hands of death. How could a day of supposed rejoicing turn out to be a day of mourning? He thought to himself.

He remembered how ecstatic he was when he had gone for a medical scan with his now late wife, Emily and the results showed that she was pregnant with a son. During that period, his wife had countless seizures and complications but as soon as he heard and saw that it was a boy through the scan machine, he attested that the reason she was going through such difficulty was because she was carrying his son.

In his words, "A boy is like a rock, it is difficult to carry," were the words he said to his wife that day as he held both his wife and the scan results in his hands looking all washed up with excitement and thrill, but little did he know that his son whom his wife was carrying will turn out to be the cause of her pain, the reason why she would die. Oh how he hated his newborn son at that moment for taking his precious wife away from him.

"Sir, your newborn son has arrived. He is here." His personal guard, Dexter said as he bent to whisper the words to him. If only he knew how Sylvester was feeling at that moment, he wouldn't mention anything about that cursed child to him.

Sylvester threw him a devilish gaze and Dexter withdrew himself instantly not wanting to offend him any further. Hearing anything about the newborn was the least thing on his mind at that moment and he wanted nothing more but to be left alone.

Today being the 6th of September would make it 3 days since Sylvester angrily left his newborn son at the hospital and returned to his home. He had been so devastated concerning his wife's death and the fact that his son had a hand in it that he didn't care about the boy anymore. The 50 year old man had been married for almost 20 years and during this time, he and his wife Emily were unable to conceive a child. For this number of years, he had been praying to the Moon Goddess to bless him with a child and still, his love for his wife never wavered. He loved Emily to the moon and back and not even barrenness was enough to shift an ounce of it.

Finally after many years of praying and waiting on the Moon Goddess, they conceived and discovered that they were going to have a son. A feast was thrown and everyone of noble background from the northern part of America was invited. Fast forward to 9 months, Emily had contractions and soon fell into labor and was soon delivered of a bouncing baby boy. It was at that moment that they discovered that her blood was poisoned and she had gotten enough intake of a poisonous substance. Tests were run on her and it was discovered that Wolf's bane had been in her blood for a very long time and so they decided to test the blood of the child too. As soon as the results were out, they were shocked to see that the innocent little one was the actual source of the poisonous substance, wolf's bane. Maybe he wasn't so innocent after all but how could it be that a little child had the rare condition of having wolf's bane in his blood without getting hurt and at the same time poisoning his own mother to death?

As soon as Sylvester heard this news, an instant surge of hatred blinded him and the feeling of love and warmth which he was supposed to shower on his child was instantly replaced with hatred, disgust and everything in between. Without waiting to hear any further thing from the doctor, he stormed out of the hospital and requested later on that the body of his wife be prepared and brought back to his home.

And today, Dexter came to inform him that his son had arrived from the hospital to his home. Did he tell the doctors that he wanted that cursed child back home? Wasn't his instruction that he wanted his late wife's body prepared and brought back to him? How come it was the poisonous child that came back instead of his wife's corpse?

Sylvester stood up from his chair in a jolt and was about to head towards the door when he saw a group of doctors walking in. They were 3 in number and all dressed in corporate outfits but he recognized their faces. He sighed in frustration as he sighted the female doctor holding carefully his supposed son in a baby shawl. It felt as if with the knowledge he had about the baby being his own, his anger grew the more.

He slapped his palm on his forehead while the doctors stood at ease at the door side.

"Why are you here, doctors? And what is that thing you brought to my house?" Sylvester asked in a low but frightening tone, with his eyes still closed and his face pointing downwards not wanting to look at them nor his child. The doctors stared at themselves before turning to answer him.

"Sorry sir but we have brought your son." The female doctor answered in their stead even though she was scared to do so.

"He is not my son." His voice was still low but they could tell that he was really angry and offended at that time.

"We know how you feel, sir. We understand the pain in your heart but it isn't lawful for a father to abandon his child in the hospital or even anywhere. It is not the little one's fault that this happened."

"It is his fault!" This time Sylvester's voice snapped and he was at the verge of losing it at this point. He turned towards them and from where they stood, they shivered. They shivered in utmost fear even though they had to stand their ground and act professional as they were trained to be. "I don't want him. Take him back to where you are bringing him from. I have disowned him."

"I am sorry sir but you can't do that." A male doctor interjected. "We have proof that you are his father and this document right here proves it." He slided out a document from a brown envelope and held it out to him. "This document right here has your signature which you, Mister Sylvester Stone, signed in our hospital on the day that your wife, Miss Emily Stone gave birth to your son. You consented to us carrying out a Caesarian section on her and with your permission, we can still carry out a paternity test to prove that the child is yours. Anything other than this can be handled in Court and I am sure you know what the outcome will be."
