A-Xuan walked to him and lifted his chin.
"I came here to stop you from killing Yizhen."
Liren asked angrily:
"What is it with you and my brother? Why do you keep protecting him?"
A-Xuan said as a matter of fact:
"I love him and I won't let anyone hurt him."
Liren looked at him wide-eyed. This is why he's been loyal to his brother and protecting him. He's in love with him.
"Do you think my brother deserves your love or loyalty?"
A-Xuan asked uncertainly:
"W-What do you mean?"
Seeing that he was taking the bait Liren said:
"He doesn't care about you and he'll never fall in love with you."
"Y-You don't know that."
Liren moved toward him and said:
"I do, we grew up together. I know him better than anyone."
He watched as A-Xuan looked down sadly.
"You can be my minister and I'll always be by your side."
