None of the remaining Vampires had noticed that their leader had been killed. They were all simply too busy trying to Procter their own lives from the brutal assault of the Werewolves.
Brett had cleaned up the second car after dealing with the first with the help of Simon, who's role was to come out of the woodwork after Brett had finished off the first car, helping where he can.
Darren had killed the Vampire that Ambrose had forgotten about in the third car by basically reducing the car itself to ash. The Vampire was so terrified after having an Alpha stare down at him that his brain had essentially shut off, making it an easy kill for Darren.
He also killed the two Vampires that were in the branch leader's car with his fine spearmanship, he cleanly sliced off both of their heads before they could put up much of a fight. He didn't even look at the rest of the group to check their progress, just from glancing at each of them he could tell that they're strong. After all, neither he nor Clara had been slacking one bit during the past three months much like the Pack.
Amelia was the most efficient out of all of them. Nobody even saw how her opponents died, they all had their heads crushed into smithereens.
Eventually, there was almost silence on the desolate road. The Vampires were killed without a fuss and there were no injuries whatsoever. Brett and Simon who were done first had been watching Ambrose's fight for some time and walked over to him when they saw that their Alpha was done.
"How was it boss? It didn't seem like much pressure for you." Simon said as he curiously looked at the headless corpse of the Vampire leader.
"Nah. I could have finished him off from the start, I just wanted to gauge my strength a bit considering that Astar had literally beaten the shit out of us for three months." Ambrose said as he winced at the thought of Astar's training.
"It's a shame that you got a somewhat decent opponent, I wish I had some-" Brett was in the middle of talking when he suddenly felt his heartbeat speed up madly. This was something incredibly alarming considering that he could control his heartbeat at will.
BADUMP!
BADUMP!
BADUMP!
He felt his body heating up and his senses becoming sharper.
'W-What's happening to me' Brett thought to himself as he maintained a calm facade on the surface as to not alarm everyone else.
'Poison? No, it's basically impossible to poison a Supernatural creature. The creature's healing factor would kick in the second it enters the it's system.' Brett kept on trying to come up with reasons for his symptoms but he couldn't find a single viable one.
TAP!
TAP!
TAP!
Brett could only hear the sound of someone walking, all other sounds seemed dull and unfocused. When Brett looked up, he saw an alluring Werewolf walking towards the group. The Werewolf had seductive curves and a noble but beautiful aura emanating from her very being. She also had unique black and white fur which was simply unforgettable.
Brett instantly recognized who is was, it was Amelia. Compared to a male Werewolf's fierce and dangerous looking full transformation, a female's looked gentler and had a certain sense of beauty.
Amelia was also not exactly feeling normal. She too felt her skin was on fire and that she was slightly dizzy. Her brain worked like a supercomputer, similar to Brett's trying to find out the reason for her condition but she obviously couldn't find any answers.
She then noticed a certain someone staring at her blatantly, which made her irritated. Her eyes snapped to the person, or more precisely the Werewolf who was staring at her with wide eyes.
They locked eyes for what felt like eternity and felt like the world besides themselves had turned gray.
"Hey!"
"Hey!"
"Earth to Brett!"
Brett felt someone shaking him almost violently when he turned to his right and felt his Alpha looking at him with a baffled expression on his face.
"Brett you randomly stopped talking and spaced out for about a minute. What the hell happened?!" Ambrose said with a concerned look on his face. In all the time that he had spent with Brett, he had always been sharp and attentive. Something like this had never happened before.
"Sorry, I was thinking of something. I was trying to say was that I wish I had someone with similar strength to spar with, I want to see how well I would do in that kind of battle." Brett said without a change in expression, trying to make his lie seem convincing.
"Hmm…" Ambrose's stare was icy cold, Brett could literally feel his Alpha's eyes on his skin, it was chilling.
One Second.
Two Seconds.
Three Seconds.
If Brett was in his human form, it wouldn't be inaccurate to say that his face would be covered in sweat at this point.
Ambrose suddenly retracted his stare and said, "Okay!"
Brett secretly sighed in relief as he felt that his Alpha's intuition was at a scary level, he was glad that his acting was great.
Little did he know though, Ambrose had also seen his sister's reaction and was simply probing Brett for an explanation, but he didn't expect his Beta to actually lie to him. There was clearly some kind of secret between his Beta and his sister but he wasn't really in a rush to find out what it was.
'I'll just investigate a little later.' Ambrose thought as he secretly snuck glances at both of them.
He then turned to Darren and said, "Can you burn all of these corpses and the vehicles?"
"Yeah little bro, just pile up the corpses and I'll do the rest." Darren said while leaning on his spear.
"Simon, go pile up the corpses quickly, I want to take a shower." Ambrose said while looking at Simon.
Simon's eyes lit up at the idea of a shower and scurried off to pile up the corpses.
Little did any of them know, Astar who supposedly left was listening in on them from miles away.
"I stayed close to those brats because I was a bit worried but I guess I was just being over protective." Astar said as he took a sip from a weird looking wine gourd.
"Ahhh!" Astar relished in the taste of the alcohol, "But I didn't expect that my granddaughter would actually have a natural mate bond with the blonde brat. HAHAHAHA!"
Astar's wild laughter rang through the surroundings, but no one was there to hear it.
