'What!? A Commander!?'
Rin noticed the peculiarity of her foe. If it's only a common Lamia, then it would have been slashed even when it protected itself. But now it even stands toe-to-toe with her.
'The young master!?'
Rin glanced at the direction her master's son is going toward but unfortunately just saw a thin air.
Rin knew that if a commander appeared, then there will be a flock of common variants of it around. With this in mind, she goes all out immediately.
'Winged foot, maximum output'
'Wind blades, maximum output'
'Domain. Unescapable wind'
Suddenly, the wind swirling about her bottom half got so fast. The wind blades got so tangible that it looked like a real razor albeit more deadly as it's producing sparks as if literally slicing the air molecules around it. She also focused all of her domain in the tiny space around her and the lamia, immediately putting the monster on pause.
The commander lamia tried its best to resist even though it cannot move. With its psychic power, it released a violet wave all around it prompting those around to be confused and lose their sense of direction.
*Swish~*
Rin seemed to teleport to the side of lamia, but the wind blade just grazed through the lamia's scales.
Rin bit her lips hard making it bleed. This slight pain made her awake since she's still a rank higher than the monster.
Rin moved past quickly. Upward, sideward, frontal, in the back, then slashed diagonally in all four sides. Finally, the lamia accumulated enough slashes that it bled so much, deactivating its psychic skill.
Rin, upon seeing this, made the final blow.
*Plop*
The head of the lamia then separated itself from its body.
Rin didn't rejoice, and immediately expanded her domain again.
She did not find the young master even in her maximum range.
Quickly, she goes toward the direction she last saw him.
'Please be safe.'
'Young master, please.'
With guilt and worry plaguing her, Rin moved past the trees fast, and just slashed through obstacles.
