2: The heart wants what it wants.
"Did you just do that?!"
"Maybe." I grinned, jumping on my feet and making my escape before she could reach me.
Fiona grunted and stood up as well. "Oh, better be prepared because once I get you..." She warned, chasing after me.
I laughed, running around the little living room and avoiding getting any closer to her. "Well, if you get to, because once I remember, fat people can't run."
Fiona stopped, grabbing a pillow and tossed it at me. It smacked my right arm. "Oh, now you'll get it."
And she was on a mission to get me. We ran all over the apartment. Jumping on the bed and me getting my foot tangled in between the blanket, before I knew it I was smacking my head on the floor.
I groaned and Fiona cracked up loudly, finding it hard to hold in her crackles. I glared at the bitch and got on my feet.
"You deserve that."
"Fuck you, Fi." I whined, running out the bedroom, she was on my tail. "I deserve to be forgiven and for you to stop chasing me for whatever revenge you have planned?" I said sweetly, trying to distract her m
She snorted. "Now, now. Don't play that game with me, missy." She huffed as she missed me, chasing me around our couch. "I'm so gonna get you for slamming the pillow on my face for no reason at all."
"But, you were crying your eye's out just because Harry turned his back on Emily."
I looked at her as she glared at me playfully. "Harry was being a complete Asshole. Emily didn't do anything and he just decides to ignore her like that."
"And so?" I asked, not getting her point.
"They're in love!" Fiona exclaims, hands raising to emphasis. I frowned. "Don't you get it?"
"It's a freaking movie, Fi." I reminded her, incase she had lost her mind the moment I smacked that pillow on her face.
"I hate you." She whined, crying out sadly. "You keep reminding me that such true love is too cliché to happen in real life."
"Uh-huh, now. We were eating popcorn and wasting this night watching lame romantic movies?" I asked, hopping she'd forget about hitting me.
"Yeah. Let's finish this freaking movie. I want to know if Emily will ever tell Harry she's pregnant with his child."
My brows raised. And I frowned in confusion. Scratching the back of my neck sheepishly. "Um..."
She gaped, eyes wide and mouth open. "You weren't even watching the damn movie where you?"
"Whaat?" I drawled out loudly, laughing nervously. "Who said I wasn't watching the damn movie." A grin appears on my lips.
"So tell me then. Did Harry kiss Jorja in front of Emily or not?"
Wow, I really wasn't watching this movie. I grinned. "Who's Jorja again?"
"Ugh, you fucking bitch-" we were just about to start running around again when the was a knock on the door.
I froze up and so did Fiona. She raised a brow. "Expecting anyone?" I shook my head in response at her words.
"Then who's here at freaking 10pm at night."
"Why don't we find out?" Questioning, I walked to the door. Fiona signaled for me to wait, running to our bedroom and she came out with the old hockey stick.
She smiled nervously. "Don't forget little hex here." She winked. I laughed but took it from her.
We were two petite women. We must be wild and very violent, but if anyone big enough tries cornering us, it would be so easy. Now, we didn't want that, do we?
I held the door knob and lifted the stick. Opening the door slightly. Firstly, I came face to face with three men in suits. Before I knew it, they had the door roughly pushed and roughly walked in.
I gasped as I fell on the floor and Fiona screamed in fright. The three masculine men dressed in clean stainless suits barged in. The one with blonde hair slammed the door shut behind him.
They all stood in front of us, looking heatedly at Fiona. Immediately without a thought, I ran and stood in front of Fiona, who was trembling terribly.
I glared at all of them. "Who are you all and what the hell do you all want?"
One stepped forward, causing a fearfilled gasp escape Fiona behind me. "We're here for Ms Fiona Esposito."
Fiona froze up and so did I. I raised a brow. "What the hell? Why? Who sent you-"
"We need to speak with you, Miss Esposito." The blondey spoke up, moving forward as well.
I watched him glance at me for a while then advert his eyes. "She's not speaking with you." I finalised. "If you want to talk, maybe knocking and waiting for us to let you in would have helped."
"This isn't any of your business, miss. We aren't here for you."
"Then what do you want?"
Fiona fisted my nightgown, her fingers shaking. She pocked her head to look at all men who still had to explain what their problem was and what the hell they came here for.
Blondey gestures to Fiona, he nodded to her. "Nice seeing you again, miss Esposito." Another man with short black hair and sunglasses on moved up.
He patted Blondey on the back. "Miss Esposito, we're here with knews, from your brother."
At that said, Fiona pipped up, coming out of her head out. I frowned when she moved without hesitation in front of me. Her hands fisted on her sides. "My brother?"
"Yes, miss Esposito." Blondey nodded. He then cracked a very forced smile, moving to take something out of his back pocket.
Both Fiona and I both froze up, assuming this must be some setup and he was about to pull out a gun, but he didn't.
Blondey brought out a golden cared, A cared with beautiful decoration on it. The moon reflected it, making all our eyes move on that small piece of paper.
"This was sent for you... and your friend." Blondey pointed towards me with a brow raised.
"What is it?" Fiona spoke up before I could.
I waited for them to say something but they didn't. The man with short black hair took the envelope in Blondeys' hand and handed it to Fiona. "Invitations."
"What?" We both voiced, she turned to give me a questioning gaze but I only shrugged.
"Open it, miss Esposito." Blondey spoke up, breaking our eye contact. Fiona nodded, and with hesitation, she started opening the envelope.
Suddenly, all I felt was nerves. I don't know why, but my limbs started getting tense. My hands sweaty and my breathing heavy.
Fiona then got the envelope open, she shared a glance at everyone before looking down at whatever this 'invitation' was about.
The whole room was quiet. I could hear my own heart beating wildly in my chest, like any time soon it would burst out.
My head was running wild, I felt uneasy. Like whatever was in there would be something we both probably wouldn't like.
Fiona then realised a soft gasp, her hands started shaking before she shoved the golden paper violently on Blondeys' chest. "What the fuck is this!?" She snapped.
I jumped in fright, moving to stand next Fiona. "Do you think this is a joke?"
"We're only doing what we were told to, and that was to personally hand it to you and your friend." Blondey says without emotion.
"Fi?" I grabbed on her arm, looking at her angered face.
"I won't except this bullshit! Go tell him to leave us alone!" She ignored me, addressing them.
My brows furrowed and I looked at Blondey. "What was written on it?"
Fiona froze, shaking her head.
"Mr Al-"
"It's nothing, B. It's all nonsense." Blondey seemed annoyed that Fiona spoke him off, he looked at both of us and sighed.
"What was in the damn paper, Fi?"
"Nothing important. It's bullshit." She dismissed.
"No, Fi." I held on her shoulders. "Tell me."
"I've already said, it's all nonsense."
"What was written on the freaking paper, Fi?!" Snapping was something I never did towards Fiona, but when she wouldn't just give in and was being too stubborn, I couldn't take it.
Fionas' lips trembled, she pulled me in for a hug that confused me. "Like I said. Bullshit...." Her inhale was shaky. "It's a freaking wedding invitation, B."
"And so?"
"You don't get it do you?"
"You're not making any sense." Fiona sighed sadly, she realised a broken sound in her throat and my heart dropped.
"I-I'm so sorry...Bianca, I-I-"
"We have to take our leave now." Blondey interrupted our mini-show. He looked amused. "We can't be long, Mr Esposito is in the car waiting."
"H-he's here!" Fiona gasped, moving to look at me. "Fuck he's here!"
My heart started beating, I was so lost and confused. What the hell was going on here? Who the hell was this Mr Esposito. Sure, I knew it was one of Fionas' brothers, but...which one.
"Yes, miss. He is here, downstairs in his Limo." Fiona looked like she was going to faint any time soon.
"You know what?! That's it, I'll read the damn thing." And I did, even though Fiona shouted in protest.
I walked to Blondey, took the paper in my hands and starred down at it.
Fiona froze up and when I started reading it on the second round, my body went cold.
~Dear, Fiona and Bianca~
I've truly missed my little sister terribly. It wouldn't feel right if a family wasn't here on such a special occasion.
I thought maybe it would be kind enough for me to invite your friend, Bianca Halsall.
So I personally wrote you this letter along with an invitation attached with it. I want you both there. No excuses, I won't take any.
Your brother.
Alessandro Pedro El padrino Esposito La' Romania.
I lost it. My whole body dripped to the ground. Fiona by my side immediately. The paper shaking along with my hands.
"Bianca! Fuck, Bianca?" Fiona spoke desperately. Eyeing me carefully with her hands on my cheeks.
My eyes blurred, and the next thing I knew. I was crying, I was punched over, clutching the paper on my chest and heaving heavily.
He's getting married.
He'd forgotten about me...about us.
He didn't... he didn't come back for me.
He...Alessandro, he's getting married.
Oh my god, no. No. No. No. No!
"Oh my god!" I gasped, covering my mouth with a hand, my whole body was shaking and everything was a blur.
I felt torn once again. It hurts even more. I don't understand. Why? Why was he...?
"Look at me, Bianca?" Fiona begged, moving to sit in front of me. "Please don't... Bianca?"
"H-he's marrying s-someone else-" I cried, tasting the saltiness of my own tears. My head throbbing furiously. "He isn't-"
"Shh, look at me, Fiona." She cursed. "Breath, breath...please breath." She chanted but ...I couldn't.
My nose just wouldn't let me inhale the air I needed. "I-I really-" I heaved and gasped, scaring Fiona.
"No! Breath, breath." She repeated.
"We have to go. I hope your ...Um, friend is okay, but Mr Esposito is waiting outside and we can't keep him waiting any longer."
"I want to see him."
"No." Fiona snapped as soon as my words left my mouth. "You will not do this to yours-"
"I have to, Fi. What if there's a misund-"
"You can't. I won't let you." Fiona huffed, grabbing me in for a tight hug. "He left you, Bianca. He isn't here for you. You can't show him any signs of-"
"Please..." I whispered. "I want to see Alessandro...please, please just let me-"
"Bianca-"
I was up before she could stop me. All three men froze when I ran pass them and out of my apartment door.
And I was running down the hallway. Fiona shouted for me but I was too gone to listen. The three men chased after me, but I skillfully ran faster down the stairs.
They cursed loudly when I was a good distance away. All I had in my head was one thing only. Alessandro.
I have to see him.
I had questions he left me with. Questions he refused to answer when he left me out... on the front door of our apartment, crying and begging for him not to leave me.
That was the first time he was so cold an closed off around me. He pushed me away and I didn't recognise him. He didn't even turn to give me one last glance before he disappeared in his car and off our neighbourhood and my life.
He ignored my texts even though I knew he reads each and everyone of them. He declined my calls, and refused to even answer his own fucking sister's calls.
He just...vanished.
....and I won't let him leave me without answers again.
