Chapter 17 - The Dawning of a New World part 1

[One Month later]

Arthur was passing by a small and unassuming village, and the sun was setting. He had been travelling for days, and no other villages were in sight. He had no other choice but to stop for the night. He asked around for a place to stay, but no one seemed to have a suggestion. He was about to give up when an old woman approached him. She said that he could stay with her. He was relieved, but also anxious; he had never stayed in a strange village before.

The old woman's home was small and cosy. As they talked, Arthur learned that the woman had a special gift: she was able to see the future and read a forgotten language in a mysterious and magical way. He was amazed and filled with awe. She told Arthur that his future was going to be very hard and difficult and that he would only survive if he were able to find a mysterious and magical way.

Arthur let out a sigh and knew she was telling the truth, after finishing his food and thanking the old lady for the meal he stood up and went to his room but then the old lady was in a trance-like state and started saying something that made Arthur shiver...

As Arthur finished his meal and thanked the old lady, he let out a sigh, knowing that what she had said was true. He slowly rose from the table and started to make his way to his room, when suddenly the old lady fell into a trance-like state. Her eyes began to glaze over, and her lips began to quiver. She started mumbling something incomprehensible, yet the words sent a chill down Arthur's spine. In the eerie silence, he could feel darkness looming in the room, beckoning him to stay and listen to the old lady's mysterious words. He didn't know what was happening, but he knew that something tragic and dramatic was about to unfold.

"It was foretold in the ancient scrolls of the magi, written in a language long forgotten. The prophecy spoke of a time when the world would be thrown into great chaos, as monsters of unimaginable powers and demons, who were once extinguished and sealed away, would break free and bring horror to the world.

The skies would darken, the seas would boil, and the land would be scorched. The creatures of the night, hidden in the shadows, would emerge to spread death and destruction. The world would be plunged into great darkness, and it would be a time of despair.

But out of this chaos, a new order would emerge, and new powers will be born.

The prophecy spoke of a hero, born in the depths of the darkness, who would lead the world to salvation. He would be the one to bring order out of chaos, and the world would look upon him with admiration and hope."

Arthur went to bed replaying the whole conversation in his mind, over and over again. Thinking about what she had told him and how it would affect him before falling in deep slumber...

Arthur confidently approached the old woman in the morning, her face weathered by time and her hands wrinkled by age.He cleared his throat and politely said, "Good morning ma'am, I'm looking for a blacksmith in town. Do you know of anyone that might be able to help me?"

The old woman sighed deeply before answering. "I'm sorry young man," she said, "but there ain't no blacksmith in this town. The closest one is in the next town over. It's a long walk, but you can make it if you start early in the morning."

Arthur thanked the old woman for her help and started to walk away with a rusty sword he was handed by the villagers for two copper coins. He was sad that there wasn't a blacksmith in town, but he was determined to find one in the next town. He was sure that he could make it there before the day was out.

Arthur was walking down the dusty road when he heard a loud roar and saw a giant beast emerge from the trees. It was an ogre, huge and fierce, and it was heading straight for Arthur. He steeled himself and gripped the rusty sword tightly in his hands. "Maybe I'm able to defeat it without using energy?"

The ogre lunged forward, swinging its massive arms and bellowing with rage. Arthur was ready, and he leapt forward, dodging the ogre's blows and slashing with his sword. The blows of his sword reverberated through his arms and his body, but he kept fighting, determined to defeat this beast.

The ogre roared and swiped at Arthur with its clawed hands, but Arthur was too quick and agile, and he managed to dodge each blow. He kept slashing at the ogre, dodging and weaving, until finally, the ogre was defeated.

Arthur stood triumphant, the rusty sword still clutched tightly in his hands. He had fought and won an epic battle, and he was now one step closer to finding the blacksmith he was searching for. He sheathed his sword, and continued his journey down the dusty road, towards the next town.

Arthur arrived in the town late in the evening, the last rays of sunshine just barely making their way through the streets. He looked around, taking in the sights of the town as he made his way towards the hotel. As he approached, he noticed the building was old and imposing, a strange mix of mystery and familiarity that seemed to draw him in.

He stepped inside and was met with a warm and inviting atmosphere. A log fire crackled in the corner, and the sound of conversation created an inviting atmosphere. He walked up to the reception desk, where a friendly face greeted him with a smile, and he checked in for the night.

After, he took a moment to explore the hotel, noting the worn and aged furniture, the ancient paintings, and the artefacts that seemed to whisper stories of the past.

As he made his way back to his room, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. He was sure he would wake up to an adventure, and he couldn't wait to explore the town in the morning.

Laughter and a warm feeling filled the room on Arthur's birthday. He was so happy to be celebrating with his family, but then everything changed in the blink of an eye. The sky turned blood-red, the clouds were pitch black... and the moon cried with tears of blood dripping. down on the ground and burning it down.

Suddenly, the room was filled with screams of terror as a horde of monsters and demons burst through the windows and doors. The room became chaotic as the family scrambled to escape. The fragile ones fled while the others were fighting the wave of monsters and demons, but the monsters were too fast and strong. They quickly rounded everyone up, trapping them in the corner of the room.

Arthur watched in horror as the demons began to torture his family, tearing them apart piece by piece with their claws and teeth. He could hardly believe what he was seeing, and it felt like his heart was going to burst from fear and anguish.

Then he heard a malicious voice laughing out and the nightmare only got worse when Arthur's brother, who had been standing in the corner with an evil smile, suddenly stepped forward and joined the demons. He had betrayed them, and now he was helping the monsters to torture his own family.

Arthur wanted to do something to save his family, but it was too late and he was too weak. He watched in despair as the monsters continued their cruel torture until they had finished. These memories were burned in his mind.

When the monsters had gone, there was nothing left but a pile of mutilated and broken bodies. Arthur's family had been wiped out in the massacre, leaving him alone and filled with sorrow. His brother put his hand on his shoulder and whispered something in his ear... after which he walked away. With tear-filled eyes, he looked at his brother and shouted that he will always be a traitor and that he will hunt him down...

Arthur awoke with a start, his heart pounding in his chest, from his nightmare. Dawn broke in through the windows.
