"Did you do this?" Karuna asked Duran. She gave him a look of suspicion, but he smiled at her.
"Do I look that heartless to you?" He asked, and she glared at him. "I did no such thing, my dear Karuna. Nature just has a way of doing the things that I want. Just like this wave."
"Yeah right," Karuna didn't believe, but what could she do? Nothing. Whether he caused it or not, it was already happening. "What will happen now?"
"I have no idea. We'll just have to wait and see," Duran replied. He looked into the distance, and his eyes narrowed. "Now that's a surprise," he said with newfound interest. "What could have brought you out here?"
"Who is it?" Karuna asked, looking in the direction that he was, but all she could see was chaos and nothing they could have caught the dark elf's attention. Or was she looking at the wrong place? The chaos and screams there was a thrill but not enough to pique his interest.
